  • (Season 2, episode 9): Formula Drift Champion Chris Forsberg takes us on a tour of garages around the country, from professional outfits to grassroots backyard garages. In this episode we visit Miranda’s Custom Car shop in Phoenix, Arizona, a lowrider shop driven by the passionate mechanic Luis Miranda whose built a reputation for attention to detail and artistic paintwork. Luis’ affection and commitment to custom lowriders and the lowrider culture runs deep. Miranda handles every process of the vehicle’s fabrications from sourcing parts to engine fabrications, custom upholstery, paintwork, and of course hydraulics. Forsberg gets a tour of the yard where vehicles, including some long lean ’58 and ’59 Impalas, are waiting for their transformation. Inside we see works in progress and lowriders in the final stages of customization. And finally! Forsberg gets his first ride in slammed down to the ground lowrider.

    It's nice to see Luis Miranda getting props. He helped me finish up one of my cars and delivered on everything he promised. Stand up guy and builder.

    Not a lowrider guy, but this guy is quite inspirational. Not only is it impressive that he started his own shop at 21 but also love his mentality of learning to do everything himself just because he doesn't trust putting his name on someone else's work.

    I bought a car from Luis Miranda and when I got it home I had the oil changed only to find out it had a bad engine. My mechanic told me it's a dirty mechanics secret to put extra thick engine oil in a car to hide engine noise. I called Luis and he said he knew nothing about it. I've read Luis bio and he is referred to as a master mechanic so Make your own conclusions but I would never buy a car or have him touch a car I own!

    I truly enjoy this series of videos, Forsberg is a great catalyst. However not sure who did the editing on this video but seems a bit sloppy with transitions and a rough jump start beginning. I don't often see that from the videos I see on this channel. Just my opinion though.

    whats the difference between hydraulic and air ride?

    • @jokerman213
      @jokerman213 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's like apple and oranges. Air uses compressed air to fill air bags to lift a vehicle. Hydraulics use hydraulic pumps to send pressurized oil to cylinders to lift the car. Air bags are generally slower but are a more comfortable ride. Hydraulics are more of a rough ride but more faster to lift. The hydraulics run off multiple car batteries and the air compressor for air ride can generally run off the vehicles electric system. That's the basic run down.

  • @ItzRASTAVIBEonPC
    @ItzRASTAVIBEonPC 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wonder how people get this in a car, do they simply go to a ''store'' and tell them to do it for them and pay for it or you need to pay in order to get licenced to use hydraulics? I ask this because im from europe and from what ive heard this is illegal here at least it is in my country (Portugal) and i always wanted something like this but it will be impossible here.

    • @Rick2112.
      @Rick2112. 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +ItzRASTAVIBEonPC you could pay for a shop to install the hydraulics or buy the parts at a shop or online, and install them your self you also don't need a license to use hydraulics. You could buy the parts online and have someone install them for you or buy a lowrider from the USA and ship it to Portugal
