Dan reminds me of that uncle at every family function that is always sitting at the middle of the table, telling stories at 1 in the morning around the campfire that are making you wonder if you can laugh yourself to death. his red faced, cackling enthusiasm is IMPOSSIBLY infectious.
My favorite joke was "The Beast (as in Beauty and the)". I feel like within this joke you were able to cancel out all of Hades' bad jokes. Well done!
Did he even have a last name? Like he’s just the prince or the beast. Heck, Belle didn’t have a last name! So what’s Bens last name, Ben Beauty and The? I need answers!

I’ve actually done a show with that Kronk. He played Bert in a Portsmouth NH production of Mary Poppins! He’s very lovely, currently Willy Wonka on the national Tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Villains Tonight was so silly and chaotic
To add to your Descendants rant: they also *specifically brought the dead villains back to life in order to imprison them on Evil Island* which is a bit of narrative nonsense *alone* like: why bother at that point? Why not just say the kids were born *before* the stories happen so you have a better reason for the VKs to *want* to be evil and free their parents in the first place? Just… the costumes are cool and all that, but I think it’s honestly intended to disguise the flimsy narrative base that is the premise for this movie
Bringing dead people back to life specifically to create a penal colony/slum for their descendants sounds pretty evil for our good and pure disney heros and princesses.
The BEAST built a wall. HE BUILT THE WALL. That's just extremely messed up and extremely uncomfortable to think about also why is he the one who gets to decide to put the kids of villains in a 3rd world country?
Again why is The Beast the judge for imprisoning children of shitty people who might otherwise want to not be like their parents in a slum? If memory serves me correctly he locked an old man in a cold dark dungeon to die of starvation and then imprisoned his daughter before he came around to the good side. He wasn't the nicest guy with the cleanest conscience
Was anyone going to tell me that king beast resurrected all the dead villans or was i just supposed to read a TH-cam comment and find that out myself?
i hate that i’m able to say this but: theres actually pretty solid exploration of all of this in the book series. like, the movies are strange and flimsy at best but the books…they’re surprisingly solid??
I just absolutely love how Jay Leno portrayed Hades in this show.

Pain & Panic actually came into the house pre-show & interacted with the audience before running up onstage to start the show. I have a GREAT memory of them chatting with me & trying to get me to buy them popcorn when I saw this show in 2014 on a Halloween on the High Seas cruise.
Ah yes, the return of the Disney "Cruise-icals". First it's Toy Story, and now Villains Tonight! If you could find footage of it, what about the Disney Cruise show that is "Muppets Ahoy"? It only ran for ten days in the Disney Wonder Cruise in 2006. If not, then that's totally fine.
Also, I too look forward to Part 2 of Ursula's costume evolution.
Can we just talk about the fact that this whole show was basically that one scene from Twisted the musical where all the villains come out but stretched over 45 mins?

I was hoping you would mention that Facilier was in the musical at some point. There were even some photos of a sort of puppet of Chernabog. For some reason they were cut.

I think the reasons they were cut was:
1. Chernabog is really scary for little kids
2. Dr. Facillier is fun and all, but he represents a negative stereotype about voodoo, which is real religion most practiced by black individuals, so they probably wanted to avoid that controversy
@@becuaseimbored3481 I remember reading that Facilier's segment didn't flow well with the rest of the show and was cut in the end. So while what you say about Facilier is a good point, I think (in this case at least) it was done frome a technical practical standpoint.
As for Chernabog, yes, Chernabog is scary. Though sometimes I wonder if they intended to use him in a more comical way, like in House of Mouse.
I think one of my favorite lines in the show, and I'm pretty sure this is how it goes, is when Hades is explaining how evil he is by saying he made certain evil characters looks like non-evil ones, and he goes "I'm SO evil, I'm just gonna say Lindsay Lohan and let you guys write your own joke." THAT cracked me up.
Okay but how is the song “Twisted” from Twisted a better villain medley than this?
because twisted is the greatest parody musical of all time

Why do I have a feeling that Mrs. Disney Dan has a lot of input into what sponsorships Dan takes? Fancy handsoap? scented candles? Manscaped?
Even though the cruise is a lot in every single aspect, I love it. It’s so funny and cute. I love it so much. And I love the fact that they put Yzma and Kronk in it. They’re so underrated. Yes, Hades looks like if Heatmiser tried to be as blue as Snowmiser, but! It’s really fun. Okay, Scar’s costume is a mess and I kind of hate it, but I see what they were trying to do…I think.
Please tell me you’re going to do the same thing with the Aladdin Spectacular! That genie was hilarious and weirdly created.
Gotta put taking a Disney Cruise on my bucket list cause everything I hear about all the character stuff that happens on there is nuts.

i have a memory of seeing this show when i was little. i was absolutely obsessed with hercules as a kid and loved the show. it was when i saw this show that i decided that i wanted to work for disney entertainment. it was goofy and i loved it. 💗💗

had the honor of seeing this on the disney dream a few years ago. you left out the best part which was during the disney villain confrontation where iago is trash talking jafar and one of the monitors turns on with a "behind the curtain cam" of staff members trying to hold back jafar whos screaming and kicking trying to get on stage. and then he DOES and confronts iago.
i loved this performance but that was easily the funniest part words dont do it justice

I still remember when I was like 6 my parents took us on a trip on the Disney Dream and we were planning on going to each show. Then of course 6 year old me saw the poster for villains tonight and was so mortified by the costumes that our family had to skip that show 😭. Will forever regret skipping this gem

I remember back in 2013 when I went on my first Disney cruise I saw the golden Mickey’s feelings tonight and It was either enchanted classic or wishes I would love it if you covered the other ones but I remember having a blast watching villains tonight
Disney has been doing this villain thing for a long time. Back during the days of Walt Disney presents and compilation shows (usually Hallloween Specials) they quite often had Shows where they focused on the villains, usually Clips edited together to Support a theme. They had a segment on a special hosted by Carol Burnett, Where she focused on the villains and their rule in the stories. The same was done on a Halloween special, Disney's Halloween treat. Both times Hans Conried (the voice of Captain Hook) voiced and performed the magic mirror.
Speaking of Hades, you should talk about Hercules the Mues-ical.
