My boss told me once he and his family were at Disney, and he was a kid (I don't know exactly how old, but like 8-10 if I had to guess). He told his dad he thought it was boring, and his dad squeezed his hand, stepped on his foot and said, "You're at the happiest place on Earth, start smiling." That is one of my favorite stories he's ever told me.
Very similar thing happened to me & my sister, we got flown overseas to america to go to disneyland, I was like 8 or something. The only thing I remember about it was that it was disappointing & boring, my parents seethe about it to this day. The theme parks in my country are way better lol
90% of Disney adults annoy tf outta me, but I 100% get it. I grew up having a fantastic time at WDW with my family every couple of years (back when it was feasible to visit) and I’m trying to give that to my kids in turn. My memories of it aren’t only great because it’s an impressive place to visit, but because we spent time together and genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. When I think back to my vacations there, I’m not remembering riding rides, I’m remembering waiting in line with my family laughing our asses off at some tangent we went off on, hiding under an awning in World Showcase during a downpour, and enjoying the warm Florida breeze away from the Buffalo cold. Disney is just a vessel to spend time with the ones you love. Disney is great, but the company you bring with you makes it perfect.
I loved this and I get it completely. Even now I pick my mom up once a week and we spend a lot of our time together on property, we have been doing this for years and I have memories of us baked into every corner of Disney World. 💜
We were recently at Universal FL and got caught in a down pour 😂 my son randomly brings it up that I should have bought ponchos while laughing. Best memories were made that day lol. I also have a strong memory when I was younger and we went camping at Disney. Again downpour while at the parks, we came back to our tent floating in a lake made at our site 🤣 my dad still brings that up 30+ years later that we lost the rain top of the tent and that was his favorite tent 😂.
It's a genuin nightmare, everyone's touching everyone, everyone's sweaty and oh so loud, all the bright colors and constant advertisements The rides make you feel sick along with the sickness most people carry, a lot of people there don't wash their hands after using the restroom as well, so everything you touch can get you sick. Water is overpriced ($5 US), and so is everything else. You either become lightheaded or pay them way more than you should You can't even get on all the rides, it's really not worth it
My uncle nearly shat himself on the Riverboat at Disneyland almost 20 years ago. He ate one of the weird food items and it disagreed so heavily with him that he was telling the cast member that he was about to unload into the garbage can if they didn't stop the ride, but they couldn't stop it because there was nowhere to get off (apparently). He was making such a fuss that it's all I remember about the ride. He ended up sprinting into the nearest bathroom before it was even fully ready to let us off, I don't remember how, but the cast member was just FLABBERGASTED. I was just relieved he didn't get us banned from the park for life because he was the one who drove us there lmao

It's not like a language where it's a lot more understanding the meaning of words, but an accent is purely the difference in pronouncing them. In a large glass measuring cup, combine the stout, vanilla, and espresso powder. Set aside. 4. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy, about 5 minutes, scraping down the sides occasionally to ensure all the ingredients are being evenly creamed together. 5. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. 6. Add the mayonnaise and beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy. 7. Preheat oven to 325˚F (160˚C). 8. Alternate adding the prepared dry and wet ingredients to the batter. Starting with about ⅓ of the dry ingredients, beat until incorporated. Once the cakes have cooled, loosen the edges using a butter knife. Then place a large plate over the tin and invert to release the cake from the pan. Remove the parchment paper from the bottom of the cake and slide the cake back onto the cooling rack to cool completely. Repeat for the remaining two layers. 14. While your cakes are cooling, prepare the buttercream. 15. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and vanilla. 16. Gradually add in the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and milk, continuously beating until all the ingredients have been incorporated and the frosting is light and fluffy. 17. Frost and decorate to your liking. 18. Slice and serve. 19. Enjoy.

Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
CAKE
1 ½ cups flour
1 cup dutch processed cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 ½ cups stout
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon espresso powder
1 cup butter
1 ½ cups sugar
3 eggs
½ cup mayonnaise
4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
BUTTERCREAM
1 ½ cups butter, softened
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
½ cup dutch processed cocoa powder
5 cups powdered sugar
5 tablespoons milk
fresh fruit, to decorate
Preparation
1. Grease and line three 8-inch (20 cm) cake tins with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
3. In a large glass measuring cup, combine the stout, vanilla, and espresso powder. Set aside.
4. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy, about 5 minutes, scraping down the sides occasionally to ensure all the ingredients are being evenly creamed together.
5. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next.
6. Add the mayonnaise and beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
7. Preheat oven to 325˚F (160˚C).
8. Alternate adding the prepared dry and wet ingredients to the batter. Starting with about ⅓ of the dry ingredients, beat until incorporated. Then add ⅓ of the liquid ingredients, mixing until the batter comes together. Continue until all the wet and dry ingredients have been incorporated.
9. Using a rubber scraper, fold the dark chocolate chunks into the batter.
10. Distribute the batter evenly between the 3 prepared cake tins.
11. Bake for about 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
12. Place the cakes on a cooling rack and leave to cool for about 10-15 minutes, until the outside of the pan is cool enough to touch.
13. Once the cakes have cooled, loosen the edges using a butter knife. Then place a large plate over the tin and invert to release the cake from the pan. Remove the parchment paper from the bottom of the cake and slide the cake back onto the cooling rack to cool completely. Repeat for the remaining two layers.
14. While your cakes are cooling, prepare the buttercream.
15. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and vanilla.
16. Gradually add in the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and milk, continuously beating until all the ingredients have been incorporated and the frosting is light and fluffy.
17. Frost and decorate to your liking.
18. Slice and serve.
19. Enjoy.
