Hey Alexander, I just got a hold of one of these im looking forward to change the clutch motor to servo. The one you have there is running w a servo? do you think a servo is strong enough for a machine like this? Kind regard, I really enjoy the vids :)
The mount of this particular machine was quite large and I have since sold it. I am not sure that the original stand (which I did not have) Can be improved on much given the hanging nature of the 35800 series. I wish I could be more help.
Normally you use a lapseamer flatbed 2 needles chainstitch to sew the jeans risers to the legs which will tied it up much more than doing it with a feed of a arm and then you use a feedofthearm to close the jeans and it ease the feed of the arm machine a lot. Otherwise you quickly saturate it with a 16-20oz thick denim....
@@jonesd055 Actually I don't think either of those things are necessarily true. If you look closely at the picture of the manual I sent you, the cover lists both models; of those two models it lists at least a dozen different iterations of each. The main difference I can see is that the 35700 offers either low or high throw while the 35800 series are all high throw.
usually they are on a stand built just for this kind of machine, however, this machine was mounted on a height adjustable table for operator comfort. The motor is mounted underneath the table similar to a normal industrial sewing machine but there is a idler puller which is custom built for this machine. It is complicated.

This one had the clutch motor. I think the servo will be enough.
Hello Alexander, know of any reliable sellers in the US that sell this machine or a similar feed off the arm machine?

Can you comment at all (or show) how you have the 35800 mounted? I am curious, as the factory setup/stand is quite large and we are limited on space.

@@AlexanderDyer Are there any major differences between the Union Special 35700 and the 35800 besides the 35700 being older and less expensive?
