I'm running into an odd problem: After creating the combo box, it displays the value of the first hidden column (ID) in the box in the form itself rather than displaying the second column (e.g. phone number / name). Within the drop down menu, the ID column is correctly hidden and I can choose values from the drop down menu. However, I can't directly type in values like you did around 10:00, Access instead only lets me type in the ID.
The behavior of the combo box changes to the one in your video once I enable / disable headlines within the drop down menu of the combo box. E.g. after switching headlines on (and optionally off again), I can type in names or phone numbers directly into the combo box instead of Access forcing me to use IDs instead.
Any idea why my standard behavior is kind of backwards by default?

Hi Richard,
Its a lovely tutorial and it really helped but i have a problem.
After having selected the record/value from binding combo box (query based) yes it works perfectly fine while displaying values but those displayed record/values don't get saved in the current form's table automatically and that is worring me.
So basicaly it only displays and doest save in the current table.
Am i doing something wrong.?
Pls Guide/Teach me.
Thanks in advance for your help as always.

What about multiple "Check boxes" for single field....For example: I want to assign 1 or more values to a field, how can we do that?....Unfortunately in my MS Access 2016, when I define the data type for the field I only get 3 options: "List Box", "Text Box", and "Combo Box". How can I define the data type as a CHECK BOX?
