Please be advised that Dave Skoot has ripped off multiple collectors. This is well documented and can be found with a little bit of research online, Facebook specifically. Always remember to use Goods & Services protection when purchasing through this guy. He is to be avoided. He has also lashed out in the form of written attacks at members' families, and loved ones when challenged about missing money and/or decks. He's got great stuff but he's a kook.
Skoot and I were roommates back in the day. To see how far he has come is truly remarkable. I am so proud of him. Following his passion and living his dream. Something you don't know about Dave I will tell you just so you know the type of guy he is. If he sees a kid skating in the park with a worn out or broken board he will go home and get a brand new one and go back and give the board to that kid. He truly loves what he does and wants to share it with everyone he meets.
The way he talks about the boards, the way the boards displayed, the way his eyes shine while he’s talking… RESPECT. This is OG. This is why I love this series frkn so much. Pure love for the culture. Huge respect, Skoot, just pure respect. God bless skateboarding. So many lives changed forever
This is true. Dave is a thief and he has ripped off multiple other collectors and gone after their family and loved loved ones when challenged about it. He's kicked out of most groups and he blocks people after he does it so it's difficult to communicate with him, so we're here on TH-cam. Be careful and always use Goods & Services protection.
This is so wholesome. I love how open he is about his past and his perspective on different points of his life and how much the art means to him. Life is truly beautiful and gives us the opportunity to be a lot different versions of ourselves
This is my favourite Skatehoarder episode so far. Thanks for sharing your amazing collection Dave. The way you display them and your passion for the sport is awesome. You've definitely inspired me to extend my modest skateboard collection. Take care 👍
I’m friends with Dave on Facebook. He always posts his boards. He really cares about his boards and is genuinely such a nice and amazing guy. So glad he got his time to show his collection.
Met skoot from IG maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Always was the nicest dude and answered any questions I had about collecting. He’s a legend. Glad to see him getting his shine, I don’t have IG anymore but he’s one of the follows I miss most!
Dave is dope, we started talking about boards on Instagram and I told him the stuff I really gravitated to and he offered me a 1994 Tim Gavin girl deck for $100. Very cool dude.
What an amazing collection. I grew up with girl and chocolate and never appreciated the graphics till I saw this video. Please keep making skate hoarders!
So awesome to see such a beautiful collection and all the stories really give great background about his life and experiences. Makes me wanna start collecting too
I love listening to guys that talk with the knowledge and understanding and enthusiasm in collecting stuff or just general… like Andy Anderson talking about skateboarding…. or there’s an old sneakerhead collection of a dude with the IG handle perfect pair, and he can talk for days on each pair of shoes and it’s a similar energy vibe
Yo Dave it's Alex from SI, your old neighbor. I AM LOVING this video but especially the small bits like the THPS boards, and the neighborhood skateboards showcase. I don't even know if you remember this but I literally ran up to you with a Transworld mag ~20 years ago that had a neighborhood skateboards ad in it. I loved it because it had the dopest handstyle, real NYC shit and wanted to show you. You ended up knowing someone who was friends with someone who ran the company or had something to do with them. I'm so proud of you and your collection bro, you deserve all the shine you are getting. Love you bro
Never been much of a collector besides the used up deck or random one off wall hangers, however hearing this Dudes enthusiasm for his collection is pretty inspiring. Totally “get it” now. Respect for the patience piecing together a killer collection
“It’s a full contact sport” what a legend. So jealous of this collection, I have about 6-7 boards in bubble wrap each worth maybe 200-300? And that is a lot for me. I can not imagine the money he’s spent. And also what his collection is worth. But really, when you’re this invested, they’re priceless possessions.
Dave is a legend. Met him through IG when I first started out with my collection, always super helpful and an absolute gentlemen. Stoked to see this, could watch Dave talk for hours ❤
I've been skating all my life and I'm almost forty, is there no way to make skate boarding an income ? Skate shops are broke, industry is suit and tie, reinventing the wheel is dumb, I can throw around some art, invest in building an indoor park that will probably go bankrupt... I'll never stop, but wish I could fully make it my life
You can make it your life. The secret is to sacrifice your own skate-time for more time on giving back to skateboarding in ways that it contributes to the progression of our culture. No lies.
This guy is so lucky!! Every series he has got has been super cheap or he has been blessed with a great price. He needs to start playing the lottery! It sounds like they where ment to be in his hands this is the type of guy that need to be careing for these boards he will make sure they are preserves right and most of all out to enjoy not in a box in a storage unit or under the bed like most of mine are😬.
1:19 welp, my new mission is to find one if those top decks right there.. that was my first car 😂 drove it all over the place to skate back in the day.. didn’t know there was a honda one.. I’ve seen the bmw one before
I'm a 56 artist living in UK thinking about collecting Decks just for the artwork started skateboarding , 72 when I was five made my own board it might get me back on the board.
this guy in an absolute psychopath and completely phenomenal. amazing collection, great taste, well displayed, and truly cared for and cherished. symbolic graphics dense with skateboarding history and culture. sick. a little long winded but I enjoyed it. A+
Also, Devine Calloway might go down as top 10 underrated pros. His chocolate career didn’t seem to materialize as everyone thought. Having one of his chocolate decks would be awesome.
Awesome episode, I've been a skater since the 90s so I remember everything somehow but no collection , it would be cool though. It was just nice to see someone be so open an be relatable an hear little thing's like respecting these guys being good dads an stuff, I'm 35 now no kids but at the point of my life where all kind stuff is really important n respectable to me too, I have a long bad history of addiction and all that too seeing you speak on it plus the little nods to some of the guys boards that are/have de l t with it is cool. Obviously the mother storey is bitter sweet but definitely a priceless memory or moments to have had with her, beautiful photo too rip. This video for somehow really help me out thankyou... and ya the collection is fuct. So sickk lol
I bet the Waylon Jennings estate did the cease and desist. Altamont had problems with them about some shirts, I heard they doubled back on their go ahead after the shirts were printed. Whatever though..
There was one board I was waiting to see!! The Mike Carroll, Bart Simpson dressed as Gene Simmons board. I would've paid pretty much anything for that board. It was my first skateboard and I can't find it anywhere. on your collection it is damn special
Looking for a Koston one-off on Girl that's red and his face is in place of Wendy's on a Frosty cup graphic. I used to have it. Will sell or trade with anyone.

Says a lot about him that he keeps shouting out the good fathers. Love it. The world needs more of them.

My face hurts from smiling all through that. So positive and fun. Dope.
I still get boxes sent to me in my dreams and then I wake up all bummed. This guy is living it!!
Really cool to see an artist’s perspective of collecting.

The 2000’s was when skateboard deck series collecting meant something. These new teams are not the same.

Also hearing about the deal he got and how he sourced the boards was great
That's the Darkness on the Zorlac board, and that's a Mike Sinclair graphic!?! Is there more to that story?
Also, what an epic collection! Baffling.
