    While I can't comment on the practicality of the setups, the rapid movements and counter movements are so satisfying to watch. There's definitely some usefulness in having the skill of using the knife swiftly when necessary.
    Even if the actual scenarios don't replicate setups in practice, the fact that they have a base set of attack/defense sequences to work from allows them to improvise further sequences from these that would be effective in a real-time CQC situation.

      Mike Dave I'm sorry man, I didn't see you in Fallujah? you know, where Bayonets were fixed while clearing houses and hand to hand engagements with knives, firearms and improvised weapons were literally a daily occurance.
      if you think hand to hand is useless then you have never cleared a room or a trench. in both cases, muzzles are grabbed, and hand to hand is employed. hand to hand was even more relevant in Iraq than it was in Vietnam.
      who feeds your mind with this bullshit?

    • @colelawton4901
      @colelawton4901 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Mike Dave you have zero knowledge, zero experience, and zero training in close quarters combat. you have never, at any point in your life, ever, been in a situation through which you should develop a baseline for what you THINK CQB is or should be fought like.
      You don't even know what shotguns are used for in the military, because you've never been in the military. Stop misinforming people, and stop arguing with me.

    • @ChicoKim
      @ChicoKim 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      original poster did explain the purpose in one of the replies in korean.
      Original poster explains that it is not a martial art based system but a close combat system.
      This system consists use of main weapon, secondary weapon, knife and bare hands for urban warfare, CQB and team rescue missions.
      knife fight drill displayed is just a small portion of training method to enhance vision and body reaction. this is done in repetition to build muscle memory.
      MUSAT system first relies on teamwork and better firepower.
      System's situational use is, first the primary weapon which is rifle, secondary weapon which is a handgun, third is knife and fourth is bare hands.
      MUSAT system's basis and goal is focused on CQB.
      so when someone says this is completely useless, they don't understand why this system exists.

    Definitely Kali-inspired blade work. The stationary "template" technique (Where the person with the knife targets vital areas of someone standing still) is a Sayoc Kali method, but I'm not sure if that is one of their patterns or not. The tapping, or blocking, techniques look more like Pekiti-Tirsia to me. Tough to say which system it's from though.

      its a multitude of techniques. This is the korean's version of krav maga. Both are derived from styles all around the world specifically for combat. Unlike krav maga though, this still has sme traditional marshal arts' tendency for exhibitional flair

    You cannot slice and dice or stab a real human for CQC practice. This training is all about building the muscle memories from repeated movement/counter movement so that they can act/react quicker than enemy in the real situations. That said, this is just a small fraction of many drills, trainings that they do.

Actually, UDT/SEAL and 707th SMB are the best SOF in Korea but i'd better stand with UDT/SEAL because They are the most advanced, open minded SOF in ROK. I trained with them and they were the most impressive guys in Korea. I've never met or heard who are better than them. Maybe 707th guys are the only badass who can face with these gentlemen.
