My favorite part of this clip was her husband - the way he kissed her, the way the tears kept streaming down his face - now, THAT'S true love!
I know it's customary in showbiz to be overly affectionate, to be extroverted in your feelings, etc. etc. and it happens and award shows all the time. But something about this one seemed so real - so extraordinary. Judi Dench was very lucky to have such a wonderful marriage.
In an interview with Terry Wogan I've just watch, Dame Judi Dench says she married Michael Williams after they were friends for 9 years.
I'm sure love does a lot of heavy lifting in a marriage but what might make it last probably is friendship.
Loving each other is all very well but liking each other is another proposition altogether.
And some tears, they're not out of sadness and terror or grief, but out of love. Of love.
Her husbands reaction is absolutely adorable ☺️
Dame Judi Dench is one of the greatest actresses in the world.
Still going strong 24 years later ❤
I miss those days so much!
judi is so cute 🥺
Acting Royalty 💟👑
give your Oscar to DAME Judi, Helen Hunt!!
Agreed - should definitely have won for Mrs Brown - even Helen Hunt said that.
it could have gone either Helena Bonham Carter for The Wings of the Dove and Dame Judi Dench for Mrs. Brown, the Academy is SOOOOO AMERICAN, that they gave the award to the only American nominated in the category when apparently Helen Hunt is the least impressive among the five nominees.
@@elijahsackville-glucksburg Your opinion and that's fine, I haven't seen all the films, and I do love Dame Judy. But the Academy in the US is inclusive of many other foreign nominees. . It's a primarily American award show, just as the BAFTA's are primarily British.
To be fair, it was a particularly strong year of best leading actresses! Not just Dench for Mrs. Brown and Hunt for As Good As It Gets but also Helena Bonham Carter in The Wings of the Dove and Kate Winslet in Titanic. I also think Dame Judi Dench deserved it the most, but 1998 was one of those unique years! Thankfully, the Academy recognized her as Queen Elizabeth I. only a year later. 😉
@@NiVi192 i'm sorry but Dame Judi towered above them all! Get your head cleared 😉
She's a consummate actor.
haha i love her sense of humour!!
I loved how the people rejoiced and shouted "Yeah!" ecstatically when Hugh Grant said Judi Dench's name. I wonder how they really react when Helen Hunt won for a mediocre performance (the most inferior out of the five nominated performances), defeating four great British actors especially Helena Bonham Carter and Dame Judi.
yeah
Love her......
She's the boss of James bond 007
She was "M", indeed.
Bob Hoskins’s understudy everyone!!!!!
no heleen hunt won it on her own merit if people dont win awards one year they may another
?
