Very interesting and entertaining video about George Pike and his 1873 Colt snubby revolver, Evan. Also appreciate Jenna's appearance in the video. In addition to being good at and knowledgeable about her responsibilities, she has sunny and delightful demeanor. 👍👍
Evan could you and Jenna give us a walk around their museum, Please. Also like seeing my idea of showing the ammo that goes along with the firearm. Nelson , Williamsburg, Virginia .
In 1964 I was stationed in the Navy on Kodiak, Alaska, which was devastated by the earthquake and tidal wave that hit the island... I acquired a 44-40 colt single action revolver from a source needing financial help to recover from the devastation... It was a fine fire-arm, having .44 power behind a 40 caliber bullet... I took a few big game animals with this firearm back home in Wyo in later years... A robbery of my house while living/stationed in California caused the loss of legal weapons and jewelry except for the Colt 44-40... I was urged to sell the weapon to a collector to deter theft of it... I did but the money received from the sale was never a gratification for owning that marvelous handgun...D. Morris USN Retired
Thanks for another interesting video! I really like the 44-40 cartridge. I had an old Marlin lever action rifle in 44-40. It was the finest shooting firearm ive ever shot. Decent power with mild recoil. It even sounded great. That Marlin is near the top of the list of things i wish i hadn't have Sold. Best Wishes from Montana! M.H.
My grandfather knew George W. Pike. Pike testified in court that there were 3 well known liars in Converse County defaming a witness for the prosecution. The prosecutor then asked who the two other liars were. Pike replied, "I am". My grandfather had cut fence posts in his spare time and discovered them gone. He followed the wagon tracks to Pikes ranch. When he confronted Pike his answer was that he was going to give my grandfather a horse for the posts.
Hey!... Nobody likes a Smart Mouth, Buddy!.... Hahaha!... I'm just fooling around... I actually thought that he was going to SHOW and DISCUSS that Colt since the Video and the Entire Series is called "FIREARMS FRIDAY"!!... I own an Acid Etched Colt Frontier Six Shooter in 44-40 (44 WCF) and I'm always interested in learning more about it... But instead we received a History Lesson on George Pike... Don't get me wrong, that was a Very Well Done and Very Informative Presentation like all of the other Videos this Gentleman Produces, but like I said, I expected MORE Information about The Gun!....

Excellent Video and history.
Thank you Evan.
My father was born in Douglas, I really enjoyed the video.
Very cool, it’s easy to forget most people weren’t open carrying firearms all the time particularly in towns back then.

Great story and cool gun. One can only guess why it was cut down. I look forward to your videos enjoying them very much. 👍
Mr Pike must have been cunning. I understand back then. Many horse thieves ended up on the wrong end of a rope
I gueuss , you have to go there , too have a descent look at it ! ...
