Patches are only kept tracked on a 2nd hand site. They can make as many leaderboards and competitions as they want. However the first 255 was modded and not recorded. Then this community records it but makes their own rules for using mods. If someone mods a pause and save feature I’ll go for the record, but again it’s not bo3 at that point.
Also when you have an 80hr modded gameplay it’s almost impossible to make sure it’s actually legit. Tweak over all health, tweak zombie speed, tweak regen rate. As soon as we talk about Shang there’s a huge astrick. Shit you could patch it were if it’s the final hit they just don’t swing. Main point is this record isn’t recognized and the people the recognize it are to lazy to validate it even. The record holder being the main one pushing this as the record is crazy.
This is just crazy I started with bo2 and was really getting into zombies on bo3. It is just insane to me, the dedication these player put in. Just crazy

I think this section is still part of “Reflections” from the Tag der Toten soundtrack. It start at about 16:58. Also I didn’t expect TheBones5 TH-cam channel on TH-cam to enjoy zombies content.
I mean, it's par for the course for speedrunning. The top of the pack are gonna use the most optimal setup, or the leaderboards will be split based on what system the record is won on. 255 is probably already impossible on console even without patches.
@SuperAmazingJared Every map is still possible to 255 on console (in theory.) People just migrate to PC as you can avoid the 25 day blackscreen, use patches for camos/box, and run the game smoother. Bo1 and 2 are a different story, as PC does allow higher rounds over console due to fixing box lag on bo1 and pushing certain errors on bo2.
3:59 i think the riddle is, 1. To not explode zombies in water, 2. The qater visual effect does something to lower reset time, 3. Adapt to the amount of water, 4. Do not go down the waterfall or the game may error, 5. Don't get perk drops too early or that may error the game, 6. Keep warerfall room closed if Mule Kick is in there and finally 7. Use the skullroom

Patching is the equivalent of making your own category for a speed run. As a bo3 player I don’t recognize anything patched as a record. You are also lessser for using the gums, but I’ll recognize the unmodified gobble gum use. Shang is still on the table for a worlds first.
As someone not involved with high round zombies in the slightest, I view "patches" the same as TASes, cool for proof of concept but not viable for actual records. Yes, bad RNG sucks and can be annoying but that's part of what makes the runs that manage to push past it so special / strategies that manage to bypass it so cool. Everyone's entitled to run the game however they want but patched runs (outside of maybe bug patches if necessary, like if there was one to make it so the game doesnt force reset/crash or something) shouldnt be on the dame peaderboard as legit runs that people apent months grinding.
The only change I have noticed is at around 20:26 it is slightly different from what it used to be. In the original, more of the video with Snipercat was shown.
Yeah, it's pretty lame. It makes the entire thing seem meaningless. It is almost like save scumming on what's supposed to be a hardcore run and acting like you put the work in. Yes! Actually the majority of Moon 255s are on PS4. I think you're looking at the Megas leaderboard which is easier on PC because you can play with an offline mod. PC is just more widely played nowadays but I'd say PS4 was the go to until about 2021. There's one 255 on Xbox by Keg but Xbox has framelag issues after a few days in-game so you have to marathon it

No, Although 255 can be achieved on buried, it cannot be achieved on all other maps due to reset or just plain dying. For instance: Origins only has 26 hours so not enough time MOTD: WR hit reset before 255 Survival maps: no infinite damage weapons/traps - takes too long Nuketown: same issue as survival maps Die rise: reset before 255 Transit: can’t remember tbh , I think transit may be able to be 255’d

Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with using an RNG patch. You can still end up with the same setup without the patch. I don’t get why anyone would be so against “cheating” in a PvE mode anyway.

Megas are just a separate board, on that board you can indeed get AATs from gums on Verruckt & Shi No. Verruckt actually got a 255 on Megas several years before it got a 255 on Classics for that very reason
I strongly disagree with patching the game. I think part of the grind is playing the game correctly. The only patches that make sense to me are patches to fix bugs.
If it's not an official Activision release, then it's not black ops 3 zombies. It's not like you can hop on console and play the same game the same way. It's actually cheating. Once you add third party patches, textures, etc, it becomes a custom made game that has no relation to the official release whatsoever.

On a lot of the games including BO3 your kills will reset every time they reach 65,535, that's why they don't display correctly. If you look at his gameplay on his channel in the description the After Action Report shows he actually had 206,603 kills

@@JackPbo3 you need to look at it from a different perspective. either patching is okay or it isn’t. not “yeah this map is fine, this one isn’t, that one isn’t, this one is, etc”. and when you consider that, maps that revolve around ww trading are trivialized. if I patch the box so I have perfect rng, I’d just be able to spam ww, trade it out, hit the box and get it first try, spam it some more, trade it out, etc etc. the rng is part of the game, removing that is, like I said; cheating. especially so if the map is a speedrun and no longer a leaderboard thing.

Megas are banned due to them completely altering gameplay.
There are mega categories but they are simpler and much faster than classic only runs

“Any high round record” what about ones like classics only or no gobble gums.
I really dislike allowing patches. You’re removing a key part of the game. Is rng annoying - yes. Should it be removed for the sake of convenience - no.
Why not get Widows Wine then just throw the grenades away?
The grenade exploding at all can cause your game to freeze and lowers the reset time I think
If there is only one zombie left on early rounds it can kill that final zombie
Why don’t they throw away widow bombs?
If you get a Max Ammo in the middle of the horde it'll give them back and things can get messy

yeah I think everyone does. haven’t seen a single comment in this comment section that agrees with that bs. patching is cheating. these high round runners are just too trash at the game to do it legit so they try and convince themselves that patching is “legit” somehow.
@ZombiezKey Exactly. I don't care if you need to restart a million times. Cheating is cheating. It's not an official record in my eyes. I feel if you can't just start up and try to obtain the record that way, then it's just an unobtainable record until someone, of course, comes along and breaks the record and optimizes the map. So yeah, personally, I'm not interested in hearing of a record where game files are tampered with, I only wanna be informed of the ones that just start the game up as is. 🤷🏽♂️
Besides that, how is someone on console supposed to compete with someone on PC when PC can patch and console can't? 😂 Unofficial record, in my opinion.
@@issacthekid idk why it hasn’t caused more of a commotion. like the minecraft community goes to extreme lengths to make sure people aren’t manipulating rng and cheating runs. that’s kinda the whole point of the game.. you make decisions on the fly, work with what you have. that’s how all speedruns work. your skill isn’t determined by what you can do on a fixed path. it’s how you react and adapt to the situations you find yourself in. and yeah this is technically a high round run, not a speedrun. but the reset timer makes it a speedrun. + they consider mega gobblegums “untrue” to the integrity of a high round, yet CHANGING THE GAMES CODE isn’t? such a joke.

@@JackPbo3 you need to look at it from a different perspective. either patching is okay or it isn’t. not “yeah this map is fine, this one isn’t, that one isn’t, this one is, etc”. and when you consider that, maps that revolve around ww trading are trivialized. if I patch the box so I have perfect rng, I’d just be able to spam ww, trade it out, hit the box and get it first try, spam it some more, trade it out, etc etc. the rng is part of the game, removing that is, like I said; cheating. especially so if the map is a speedrun and no longer a leaderboard thing.
