    Thanks Allyn...I am a faithful follower/subscriber of your lawn care videos. I live in south Louisiana and have similar weather and grass/weed types as you do in Florida, so your advise is quite helpful to me. So, you can imagine my surprise when you tube recommended this video when I was looking for help on servicing my echo PAS 225. I am getting my yard and my equipment ready for the most beautiful time of the year...SPRING IS ALMOST HERE! Thanks for all you do for us DYI'ers...

    Thanks for making me feel better about the grommet. I did the same maintenance on my trimmer a few weeks ago and almost wanted to throw the entire thing in the trash after wrestling with the grommet. My wife asked me why there was a stream of loud profanities coming from the garage.

    I did the exact same thing last month for my Echo stick edger and the string trimmer. Two separate units. Took about 30 minutes and 30 bucks. If you do this preventative maintenance once a year, these units will last for years.

    Another great video by the LCN! Today, this video taught me how to do something that, based on this video, that I should never do... I need to change the blade on my edger, but now im thinking maybe I should just buy a new attachment... thanks for the tips Allyn!

  • @whiteout628
    @whiteout628 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    You are correct, 3rd line is a breather. Because the fuel cap is sealed with a gasket and has no vent hole to allow air into the tank, a vent is needed so the carburetor can pull fuel in. Otherwise, a vacuum would be created in the tank and the engine would starve of fuel. And yes, Echo parts are friggin expensive for what they are.

    You have so many great videos, but in this case the volume is hindering me haha :). I swear I remember a video where you said DON’T use topsoil. I can’t find that video and thus can’t find what you recommend for leveling off/filling in low/uneven areas? Peat moss? I know you said that’s good for covering new seedlings (thanks for that advice), but didn’t know if that was best for leveling or there is a better option? Thanks!

    You missed one very important service item: The spark arrestor screen. I don't know how many 2-cycle engines I've worked on that this screen was clogged, causing back pressure and horrible starts. Doesn't take long to service ,and all it needs is a wire brush!

    I'm not one to nitpick your work, but you greased the two heads incorrectly. You are supposed to disassemble the tools a bit to allow the grease to actually move down into the tool and push the old grease out. If done correctly, you can use a fair amount of grease. The earlier comment about a grease zero in place of the bolt hole is spot on. It makes it much easier. Great video.
