Personally, I got the 2500s for the smaller spool. Having less drag isn’t a problem because I usually put 2 or 4 lbs as my main line so it’s rare that I would ever have it tighten all the way. And as for the lower gear ratio, it doesn’t matter for the type of fishing I plan to use it for. I’m not tossing huge lures or anything, but the retrieve is pretty fast on it.
