For yall who dont like the anime? Do you get the plot? Plot (from what i understood): The Divine Gate is a chance to change your fat, and also connects the three worlds. Those who are worthy are those who felt despair. They can change either their Future or Past. There is a child that appears in a person’s life when tehy are deemed worthy, and they lead them to the gate. That child is the Key Spirit, who is the only way to truely get to the Divine Gate. Aoto (blonde main) is being recruited by Arthur tk a school that will help him with his ability. Anyone with an ability is reffered to as an Adapter. They end up recruiting him. He is living his life as his younger brother in attempt to show his love for his brother and ‘protect’ him more or less. His brother hates him for that, calls his love hypocrisy and tries to kill him. Gets away. Arthur wants to destroy the Gate, Oz tries to stop him by releasing the Scandinavian Gods. The Gods more or less kill everyone, but everyone comes back later on because they cant truely die yet. Loki more or less makes Arthur his puppet, and has been using everyone to get what he desires. He has a special force or whatsver that he calls ‘Geniuses of the Divine’ which are about as strong as Gods from what i gathered. Either that or just hella strong. One of them they call Shakespeare starts writing a story, making it happen. Its hard to explain, but they more or less try and trick Midori, Aoto, and Akane. That fails. Arthur grew up with a Celestial called Santa Claus, who tries to help, kinda fails? Midori is a nice girl who had a friend who just wanted her, nobody else. That put too much pressure on her, and she lost the friend, believing her friend was waiting for her at the Divine Gate. Eventually, she finds out her friend didnt die, but then almost right after, dies in front of her. Akane wants to know how his dad died. He, like Midori, finds out he isnt dead. He and his dad fight over going to the gate, and the dad dies protecting Akane from the Scandinavian Gods. The kids get to the gate, choose against it after a bit because they realize it wont exactly be what they want, as theyd become more god like, and theyd not feel good about it? More or less just they wanna live life as it is and experince it instead of living a fake life they can manipulate. Arthur doesnt free himself from Loki. Oh, and Oz is more or less dead? Either that or he’s back in Dragtia (Dragon World) Here is a very crappy summary i wrote at 5am after staying up. Youre welcome if it helps at all.
It's interesting and that's why I'm annoyed cause I can see this anime with the premise and everything being a hit but it's not structured well and random things are happening which dont correlate also the 3 main characters basically get what they want at the end fire guy akane I think finds his dad water guy develops because he accepts his brother and family and everything but still seeks the gate and green girl basically gets her friend back it's the same problem with dragon ball and god of highschool rn GOH is more forgivable because of pacing but dragon ball has a no risk feeling overall the premise is good and the plot is alright I guess but the structure is horrible like if I could re do it I would have it a bit longer maybe 50 episodes so people can understand everything I would spend more time on each character and also on the other more important character like golden guy and loki and the other guy mad hater I think i dont even remember what his name was I remember he wore a hat(I watched this 3 years ago it was one of my first anime) i would explain the powers better and give it a better ending
They put more effort into the opening more than the anime cause the sone was an absolute bop and the band is fucking awesome. To me this opening is a tribute right here
@Dylan It is. I'm not sure if they discontinued service, but it's a Japanese game called Divine Gate. Despite the shitty anime, the game was actually quite fun. Feels something like a puzzler battler, similar to games like Tower of Saviors for example.

It's like a super rushed black cat. I enjoyed black cat in my childhood but I definitely know I won't enjoy it much if I watch it now. Now this is an even more rushed version of black cat. What 24 ep of black cat does, this does in 12 ep. Think what happens.
This would have been the next MHA if 70% of the effort put in the opening was put in the whole damn narrative.. I can't even see the heights of how popular it would be. Such a wasted opportunity.

Extremely rushed, though having no source material to work with you can't really say it's rushed because they didn't rush anything so this is a complicated situation. Anyways if you watch and judge it from a more casual standpoint it's not too bad since the concept is kinda interesting.
The anime didnt feel rushed for me but it did at the same time like when the knigths fought the gods and it only lasted like 5 mins i was like WTF?!?! That could have been at least a 40 minute figth
my only real compaint with this anime is that they tried to do way to much in the span of only 12 eps making it seem really rushed and not that good of quality when it could have been really good had they taken their time or spaced it out into more episodes thanks for coming to my ted talk

少数派かも知れないけどアニメ公式サイトでキーワード解説読んだり3分でわかるディバインゲートの動画見て復習してたので、ストーリーに置いてかれずに済みました。つかキーワード解説に大事なことが書いてありすぎる。それアニメで描けよとは思った。でもアニメでキャラの心の動きが見れたのはよかったし、特にロキの周辺はアニメの方がわかりやすかった気がする。続きも見たかったなぁ

If divine gate as an anime was as good as the op, then it'd literally be one of the top tier animes to exist. Such an amazing op, animation, heck even name wasted on such a horrible plain plot. They should re-create this anime one day to make it better.

I've been returning to this opening for over 3 years now still haven't watch the anime.
i dont remember it being as bad as everyone is saying it is, maybe give it a try someday, i havent watched it in over 5 years though so i dont really remember what happened, i just remember that i enjoyed it when i was younger
It's like a super rushed black cat. I enjoyed black cat in my childhood but I definitely know I won't enjoy it much if I watch it now. Now this is an even more rushed version of black cat. What 24 ep of black cat does, this does in 12 ep. Think what happens.

It's not worth it, trust me. Littered with countless clichés, flat and dull characters who serve no true purpose of the story, awful pacing and story telling, plot and lore makes absolutely no sense.

most people don't like this anime, but I personally loved it. I just wish there was a season 2, but I agree with the bit that it should have like 20+ episodes. in a way it was rushed

Extremely rushed, though having no source material to work with you can't really say it's rushed because they didn't rush anything so this is a complicated situation. Anyways if you watch and judge it from a more casual standpoint it's not too bad since the concept is kinda interesting.

The anime didnt feel rushed for me but it did at the same time like when the knigths fought the gods and it only lasted like 5 mins i was like WTF?!?! That could have been at least a 40 minute figth

my only real compaint with this anime is that they tried to do way to much in the span of only 12 eps making it seem really rushed and not that good of quality when it could have been really good had they taken their time or spaced it out into more episodes thanks for coming to my ted talk
