This is literally the exact video series I need. Been trying to learn to draw but the process of applying physical drawing tutorials to the digital landscape has been really difficult. Thank you so much for this!
Dude I am right there with you. I’ve been doing traditional for almost 20 years and I knew I’d have to make the jump to digital… and it is like learning everything all over again. A lot of tutorials skip the basics and assume the viewer has some grasp of digital. So I was just trying to figure it out myself and turns out I was doing a lot wrong. Who knew?! Lol. Anyway, best of luck in your digital art journey!
You're back!! and great timing too! I recently picked up digital art (and drawing in general) and was getting a little overwhelmed with all the different tools in the apps on top of practicing the foundations on how to draw. I've tried following other art videos and as great as they were, i find yours the easiest to understand and the most beginner friendly. I'm so glad to see you've got a course just for this! Will definitely give it a purchase and see how it goes! Thanks so much ^^
Thanks for making this, I've been looking for years for someone who would actually teach digital art in a way that was beginner-friendly. So many people just say you have to draw traditionally first, but with all the amazing art programs available I don't want to spend 2 years and a lot of paper learning the basics with pencils.
I picked up hipaint on my tab. Got humbled reeeal quick. This video is gold tho, explaining the basis for beginner beginners you know. Most ppl talk about the basics as if we all know what it is about.
I managed to make a cube that looks like it's developing mold along the edges, but im proud of myself that i accomplished smthn!! This tutorial was really fun to watch and listen along to!!
Hi Brad, I feel what you described: I'm a beginner, and drawing is a hobby for me. I wanted to learn more, so I got a drawing course that started with figure drawing. The course is great, but it is so ahead of my current abilities that it has been more frustrating than enjoyable. It resonates with me the idea of having small wins while learning the concepts and skills, I love that! I just got your course, and I'll complete it now and leave my other course for later. I think I'll have so much more fun. Thank you. :D
I just bought an extremely cheap drawing tablet and even tho I did not buy it for drawing specifically, digital art is something that has interested me for a long time, I just did not had the funds for even a cheap drawing tablet. I tried drawing on gimp (lol) but it wasn't fun and I felt lost, but this video and the one about hardware and software have really opened my eyes to the possibilities, so thank you for posting great content. Whenever my budget for non necessities increases, I'd like to purchase your course!
This is exactly what I was loiking for in terms of an intro video. I have been spinning in circles trying ti find ine that wasn't just about painting or only for a specific program. Thank you.
I'm completely hooked on every video you create! I've always aspired to become a skilled artist, and you're finally helping me turn that dream into reality!
It's great that you decided to continue this project ! Your videos are always so easy to understand and follow - even for a not native speaker like me. Thanks for making them : )
I just started drawing on my ipad, i love drawing with pencil and sketchbook. But, when it comes to digital drawing im zero. Your class and tuts helps me a lot. Thanks.
This is just delightful! I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm working on creating the art for my TH-cam channel prior to launch, and I have ambitions to become an author and illustrator in the future. I haven't drawn since 2012, due to a lifelong battle with anxiety and depression which almost beat me. Additionally, perfectionism and low self-esteem (a deadly combination) kept me from really improving as an artist in the years prior to my breakdown. But that's all over with now! I'm getting back in the game! I'm REALLY out of practice, I need a better grasp of the basics to begin with, and the digital side of art is COMPLETELY alien to me. Yet, I KNOW that I will succeed in achieving my dream! I see that you haven't uploaded a video here in a long time, but even if this is all you ever post this is EXACTLY what I need! Thank you, Brad!
OMG yes! Thank you for showing us EXACTLY what we need to do to get us started quickly! You're super concise, easy to follow, and you make it effortless to learn! Okay. I'm buying one of your courses today. Don't tell Jazza. He'll have to wait.
I like drawing on my spare time. I’m not bad but not a pro. These last few weeks I been taking it very seriously and I’m definitely buying your course. Love the video you did and prices are very affordable. Thanks ! ❤
I just started getting into Digital Art about 2 months ago and I stumbled upon your channel but was sad to see that there wasn't any new content....Until now. Welcome back Brad!
Good thing of digital art is you can change anything if you make a mistake, not start over. Bad thing is most of the so called digital artists learn some effects, like skin brush, realistic hair, sparking eyes, and completely forget about the base - body anatomy, proportions, perspective. Drawing is not a simple thing and one expensive tablet, some tricks and few online lessons can't make you an artist.
Just what I needed thank you. Looking forward to the course, thanks for letting us know it exists! If you hadn't of mentioned it I wouldn't have known about it. *thumbs up* indeed
Wow. This is great idea! Sametime upload in the 2 channel. And its connect. Wow again! Finally you have a course for general digital art! Thank you for this!
Tip for gross edges on fill tools. On some apps, every click you make with the fill tool after the initial one expands the color all the way around by a pixel. I know this works on Ibis paint and Photoshop, not sure about others though
Amazing this is perfect timing I have been watching you for a while and I am so glad I have one place to go and learn at my own pace. I love you work!!!
Hey, I’m 14 and bought myself an iPad 10 and am getting an Apple Pencil soon, I’m gonna get ProCreate so I can I to Digital art. Thanks so much for this video!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I BOUGHT MY XP PEN 13.3 PRO IN APRIL AND DECIDED TO BUY ONE OF YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS OF SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 TAB LITE 2022 JUST TO PRACTICE DIGITAL ART. I'VE COMBED THROUGH SOME OF YOUR VIDEOS AND FIND THIS ONE THE MOST ENGAGING
so happy to see your video. I was wondering where you went!!, ah, i see the channel update thumbnail now. ok. Welcome back!! I'm just a doodler, but I am curious about digital, I have been wondering how it all works. Thanks!!
Ive been thinking of learningbto draw. Im 36 years old can barely draw a stickfigure. My biological father was an artist, (a painter, among other things) and a comercial artist. He was brilliant. He did some artwork for some well known companies. He had a kind of photographic memory. When i saw some of his artwork my mothers friend showed me, i thought it was a photograph at first glance untill she told me what it was and i was completely astonished. Thats why i dont understand why i never had the interest or the natural skill. Maybe my inner artist is somwhere hiding inside of me waiting for the creativity to be expressed, who knows. Maybe ill never be good at anything
I just wanted a review about the remarkable 2 vs scribe and ended up here after that... Dope stuff man, I actually subbed and I don't usually do that. Great content, Thanks.
I am so envious of your tools and apps. I have this blank tablet and a photoshop program. It's chained to my desk. But your tool looks so liberating and simply. I love that you can just use your finger to move some things around or make an imperfect line, but just straighten it out. Every movement feels like an all or nothing approach for my end. If I mess up, I can undo and try again, but that isn't progress. Your stuff looks so untuitive and appealing to me, but I bet it's super expensive.
@@Marcus-Maximus That sounds interesting. I currently have PC Clip Studio and a tablet that might be too big. But I am always looking to learn more. Could you give me a specific example of what I could do?
You mention pushing harder to get more “paint” out, but in many graphics programs and apps, you actually have to turn that function on. For me personally, I actually don’t like that function much; plus it seems kinda pointless when I can just set how thick I want the lines and how much opacity they should have. But, yes, I understand that a lot of people love it and swear by it. On that note, I’m not a beginner, but thought I’d check this out anyway in case there’s something I didn’t know or just never thought of - or to reccommend to other people. I think it’s great that you’ve made this video.
For the fill tool, I actually use the magic wand tool, then increase the selection area by a few pixels (depending on the line thickness), so that it overlaps the antialiased parts. Then, on a layer underneath, I fill with the bucket tool set to “layer” instead of “canvas” and that works great.

@@SwedePotato314 honestly so true. There's a lot of videos about what to draw, but not actually _how_ to do it. Like what all the tools do and stuff.
