- It's fair to say we have been waiting for this update since November 2022 and finally, now here it is! The performance of the Fenix A320 has been lacking compared to the A32NX and PMDG, but now that all seems to have changed with this first update to Version 2 of the Fenix A320. The update list is simply huge - in this video, we pick out some of the big improvements and see how the performance compares.

Loving the update so far. On my 13900K/4090 I'm seeing a 10 fps increase which is great to have in VR. Job well done Fenix !

I made small flight today SEQM-SEGU and was very good VR immersion. Take off and landing was smoot and all cockpit buttons worked very well, I used Flight Deck Display CPU RENDERING. My rig is i9-1100k/3080TI/32g of RAM.

Holds a steady 33 to 35 on my pc. Dips to 25 to 29 when im at EGNX with FSLTL running too. Very happy.

I’m getting basically no stuttering in the plane now. The fps boost doesn’t really affect me since I have a 4070 and use dlss frame gen (I was already getting 30+ fps so no matter what I’m gonna be at 60+ fps). But by far my favorite update is the landing characteristics. You never float anymore when you’re at 130-140 knots and it makes it so much more easier and fun to land. And idk what they did but the plane feels more “heavy now”. It feels like you are actually flying an airliner

Will there be any improvement with turning knobs and being able to use both thrust levers together at the same time in vr ?
There are many with crazy cpu usage (well over 35%, i have 50-60%), also after reboot. Amir is aware of it and working on it. If you have the issue, please report it to the Fenix team, with the log added.
Why is that a bad thing? The CPU is there to be used so the more it is being used the happier I am.
@@JohnVanderbeck Because it leads to very very bad performance. Anyway, the Fenix-team considers this an urgent issue, and so do many users.

@@jip5873Yes but your comment failed to mention the CPU usage was in the Fenix APP so it makes sense after I went and looked on my own. You simply said "crazy high cpu usage" which to men implied in MSFS which would be a good thing. But no, its the outside Fenix app that has/had crazy high cpu usage.. you left that key part out mate :)
Anyway looks like they patched that.

I was always impressed by the incredible texture quality of the Fenix A320 especially when you fly it in VR. The 3D immersion inside the Cockpit is so much better than with the FBW A32NX resp. Asobo A320, where the Cockpit with the MCP always appears somehow curved which isn’t realistic at all compared with the real cockpit of the A320. Looking forward to the FPS Improvement - this was really the worse thing in V1 compared with PMDG 738 - always need to to turn down visual settings to get it stutter free in VR

On my first flight on this version the automatic cabin pressure regulation failed for 20 minutes during cruise, had to lower it manually lol

Thanks for the update. However it seems my rig is not as good as yours as my FPS slows down, especially at EGNX and EBBR. My specs however are similar to yours; i7-8700k, 32GB Ram, Nvidia 3070ti (6GB). I can only think your Ryzen is better and maybe you have better Video ram than mine. Do you think I might be CPU hindered?
Gavin did you check the 787x ?? The EFB is working . Only doubt is that the EFB uses Metric system but the FMC uses imperial system !! Is it the same in real?
You can change both between Imperial and Metric in real life

what about periferial like thrustmaster sidestick and thrust quadrant, do I have to configure all and calibrate them again?
Honestly the a319 and a321 will be the cherry on top. I'm eagerly anticipating their availability with IAE engines. Does anyone have any information on this? I'm really looking forward to it!

I’ve had a bit of bother when I think my throttle is at idle aircraft moves my thrustmaster is abit lose now or need to play around with settings again didn’t have this issue before update
now for the flight deck display how is put?
To look at the display, I need the magnifying glass, it's too small, right-Alt-clicking on the keyboard and mouse-clicking on the display, why doesn't the window undock?

Hello, You know what is can happening with the a319 and a321, and the sharklets, it has already been a long wait, I am very eager, greetings.
I would love to be able to fly this on my Xbox. The base game one seems big sad in comparision.
Really wish the markings on the navigraph charts, like the taxi identifiers, didn't just keep shrinking as you zoom it. Very hard to see these for me in VR and zooming in doesn't help because they just stay the same fixed size no matter the zoom level :(
In the web based Navigraph charts there is an option to set the size of these features. Would really like to see that here in the EFB as well.
Yeah its horrible. Cant zoom in on vfr also..completely stops me using it.
I cannot zoom in Navigraph charts regardless of the settings (VR).
adjust the font size and it stops doing that

These are custom views for the aircraft. You can download mine on discord, or theres a TH-cam video on my channel showing you how to set them up.
For some reason my FPS is really unstable now, sometimes not getting more than 15fps.
Have u changed your control settings for the thrustmaster airbus sidestick?
They're linear with just a slight dead zone.

I dont know why but i get bored flying a320 but somehow enjoy the 737. I like to trim, etc. Not fenix vs pmdg. I just like to push more buttons i guess.
i do like the 737 more as its less automated like you said you have to keep it in trim on approach which is more interesting and also with the 737 i prefer to fly the approach without the autothrottles in in the A320 i tend to leave auto thottle on untill the last second , the guys at fenix have done a great job with the A320 the detail they have for the price and i was quite shocked how cheap they are going to put the A319/321 out for i fully expected to be paying 39.99 for each model

How a game and any of its product tht needs to optimized for performance everybody should learn from Fenix, brilliant stuff, with 4090 rtx im getting around 90 fps on ground and well over 100 in air👏👏👏
I didn't know that I had to unistall version 1. I installed over version 1 I guess Ill have to uninstall version 2 and then reinstall again.
for a Version 2 release, would have been good to have a file version 2 rather than 1.5.1.*** :)
Well its only block one of the updates towards version two. Maybe when they release block two the version name is correct as well :)

All you need to do is to restart the pc and it should be fixed
Reboot made no difference. There may be some slight improvement with the default livery but the Lufthansa livery with the additional VOR module has gone as low as 4 fps
@@vulkan1233did you do a clean uninstall? you have to go in this order -> Uninstall--> Install--> restart--> open sim
Seems i wasnt on the latest v1. 5. 1.200. Solid 30fps now although there was one pregnant pause for a few seconds for some reason mid flight

They're a company who make an A320 for MSFS.
For me since the sim update I installed yesterday I can't fly anymore, the game crashes right as I get into the game plus the loading time had been increased by like 5min l!! Awful! Idk what to do to fix it

Re the update, anyone got blank screen fmc. Tried everything to restore. Any ideas.
Anti virus might be blocking it. Either temp disable AV or if you can find it’s history of blocked systems and allow it

Really? PMDG have made 4 different variants of their aircraft and been frequently updating them and for most people get really good optimised FPS from the beginning. Is this all because you can’t do takeoff and landing performance calculations?
@@tomstravels520 At least Fenix has an EFB, something that has taken PMDG months to add to their aircraft.
@@PalestinianMinistryOfHealth and what does that EFB give you that PMDG doesn’t? Takeoff and landing calculations, that’s it, everything else can be done on the PMDG 737 CDU and the 737 gives you approximate speeds anyway for takeoff in most cases if you actually enter the correct data in
Fenix haven’t added sharklets to the aircraft yet, that shouldn’t take over a year to add should it?
Finally
Frame rates vastly better... except that the PFD and NFD are stuttering so badly as to make the aircraft completely unflyable... was perect before the update.
I am sure that this must be a setting issue. I ONLY fly in VR so I hope this is not a VR problem.

Yes, also block 2 which will release at a later point this year will be free. Only thing that won't be free will be the a321 and a319 expansion but you will still receive all updates for free, forever for the base a320
I was looking forward to this, so uninstalled the old via windows, installed the new, rebooted. The sim froze on first run, and then the computer wouldn't boot after that. Once I got over that and got it booting my windows sign in had vanished, so got that working again, got into MSFS with the fenix only to find it was running at about 5 frames per second. Uninstalled the fenix and all is well again with my computer. Perhaps I will wait until all the issues are sorted with this update ( This was the new updated installer)
Main thing I want to know. Has the engine start sounds beem made louder. And on decent too. Way too quiet for both
Haven’t landed yet, but just done a departure and the engine start noises definitely had more noticeable bass / rumble. Same goes for the buzzsaw noise on the takeoff roll etc. Sounds great to me so far!

They need to add the time acceleration.. 2x isn't going to cut it!
I don’t know if they have fixed it but using 2x time acceleration does not adjust the fuel usage so my EFOB at destination keeps increasing as I use it as that does not increase with time either
Does it finally support the default MSFS bindings for the AP? One thing that keeps me mostly on the FBW is that the AP panel on my Honeycomb Bravo actually can be used.
Since v1 I have used msfs bindings for AP off and AT off.

@@FlyingAstro yes and no. Fenix just put and update addressing the issue and mention above. Performace got much better but still a little worst than the PMDG 737.

From their website: "I’m happy to say we will roll out V2 Block 1 for you at 1600 BST (that’s just under an hour from now..).". So its V2 (block 1, so part of it i guess)
This is version 2 block 1 and version 2 block 2 will come later in September.

The graphics changes on the flight displays are not an improvement at all. "Better colourings"....not at all. They;re worse. It now looks as bad as the NX. The Fenix V1 was much better in that respect.

Only 10% less frames than the PMDG so it’s okay not what I Hage wished but hey it got way better with the latest fix (.200)
Feels like a new plane but landing you need time to get used to it, but take off is so much better insane but atm I don’t know if I like the landing/flare behavior or if I would prefer V1
Try some circuits to get use to the feeling. I found adding -22 sensitivity helped for my setup.

I have installed new update but AV deleted fenixcdu.exe due to Gen:Variant.MSIL.Krypt.57 infection. Anyone have same issue?

@@scottevans6765 depending on your AV you should be able to go into its history, find what it blocked and allow it
@@tomstravels520 Yes it is. I've wrote to Fenix and they said that the file is ok and Bitdefender has classed it as a false positive. So I solved inserting it in a exclusion list and then reinstall the Fenix update. Furthermore Fenix said that they asked to Bitdefender to remove this false positive.
