I am born and raised in NYC and I can honestly say if this video is good, I can’t wait to see other videos of places I actually haven’t been too. This guide is excellent and really hits all the major points, and that’s coming from a Native New Yorker. It is important to note however, that this video focuses almost exclusively on Manhattan and a little bit of Brooklyn. There are also many things to explore outside of the borough of Manhattan! Also, if you Google mapping anything, addresses in Manhattan are not written as Manhattan, NY. It is written as New York, NY. Just a tid bid!
Hey Aly, really appreciate it, especially coming from a native New Yorker ;) Agree, NYC has so many great places to discover. The aim of this Top 10 was to show the absolute must-visit spots, so we had to make some sort of priority. One could easily do Top 100 :) Maybe next time we visit, we are definitely coming back soon... We actually stayed in Queens and we loved it there too, more relaxed and great vibe
Hungry Passport Absolutely, and I think you honestly nailed it! I loved this video. I used this to see if I could trust any other top 10s in different countries that you do (which since this video is so well done, excited to see your others)! Queens is much more chill, my fav part is Astoria and the Museum of the Moving Image is in that area (which is my fav) :)
Hungry Passport Thank you! It’s the best way to see which channels will lead me best when I’m out! My next destination is Tokyo, which I’m *fingers crossed* hoping a video like that will be coming up in the future of this channel! :)
@@AlyDee01 Great choice, really! So maybe you can give us a few tips on where to go haha :) BTW, are you also planning to go to Kyoto, they say it's really nice?
I'm from Russia and visiting New York City always seemed to me like an impossible dream. Until it came true in 2019, when I saved enough money for the US Work and Travel program. A lot of things in life are possible if you want them really bad. That trip was the best thing that happened to my life so far, NYC is just a different world... I hope one day I'll return.
Same here,I’m Thai, New York has been a dream for over 40 years. July this year I’m going to visit and of course, New York. I’m really looking forward to it.
I remember back in 2015, in the subway, there was a black family playing like an amazing band with plastics like plastic buckets, plastic sticks, everything plastic that they can play with! I am 11 now, but I was 5 back then, and while waiting for the train, I LOVED and ENJOYED the music they made and I started dancing weirdly. I would do random dances, and my 4 year old brother before saw me and copied me. Eventually, and surprisingly, their audience turned to us, me and my brother, and I remember a lady giving me $100 (no joke). I still have the $100, I never spent it or changed the currency. I value it because it was the first time I’ve ever received anything from a stranger before. (I’m from the Philippines 🇵🇭 btw)

I live in New York. Even though I live there it’s alway a great experience because since the city is so big you can see a bunch of new thing just taking a walk out side. It’s a city of many stories.
I went to all 4 observation decks and I have to say "Top of the Rock" is the best for views, since there are no glass windows in the upper deck. Second is the Empire State Building, mostly because it's so iconic, it has great views at nighttime too, the fence is a bit in the way for photos. Only then would come One World Trade Center, it's definitely the cleanest, and in general good for photos during bad weather, but has no outdoor area. The worst was "The Edge", I would only go there early in the morning, since people lean on the glass, and it gets dirty quickly, making it hard to take good pictures. Go in the night or morning to avoid the crowds.

Nice list. The biggest thing I noticed was missing was food. Of course, that's such a big subject, it would be hard to cover, but you definitely want to do your homework, and pick some restaurants to visit. Greenwich Village wasn't mentioned, which is wonderful neighborhood, full of great restaurants and shops, and in a part of the city with no skyscrapers. The top of Rockefeller center is a great place to view Central Park as it's only a few blocks away, a gorgeous view.

The best thing about NY imo is the shows! I saw Kinky Boots, Aladdin and the NYC Ballet (highly recommend). I liked the Rockefeller Centre for the views both during the day and at night. For shops Macys Herald Square is the best department store (I went to them all). I did a photography tour which was great and got some awesome shots of Grand Central, NY public library and Times Square. I was so bored at the museums compared to Paris'. Dont go over the Brooklyn Bridge on the weekend - it was the first sunny day all week and was like being a zombie herd. I stayed for about 2 weeks and was eager to move on so would recommend about only 5 days. I stayed at the Renaissance Times Square which is a wonderful hotel and the bar directly overlooks the red stairs/screens so we got a great view without going outside. Very noisy and if I was to go again I would probably stay around Herald Square as it is still mid town but near great restaurants.
I personally found the Statue of Liberty so, so boring. Take the free ferry near it instead. I do wish i went on an open door helicopter tour (but would be weary of safety with the crash / people being given knifes to cut their harnesses as if you could realistically do that upside down in the water, so would want to research it more).
