I’ve only been on plant based kidney health diet since 9.21.2022 after watching your videos on CKD and plant based diet. All my lab tests on 11.14 show huge improvement in all my numbers. I have both of you to thank.

For CKD, I highly recommend trying the WPFD and obtain less that 20% of your protein from animal sources. In the first 6 wks my eGFR went from 23 to 28, then 28 to 33, 34, 36, 38, 37. Of course discuss this with a physician first. Many thanks to Dr. H and Michelle.

@@jfc8681 WholePlantFoodDiet. This is basically the core diet that Dr. H and Michelle recommend. What they specifically recommend is a plant based kidney health diet. Three of the differences are the minimization of starch and high fructose fruits and calculated moderation of high protein items. If you click on their logo below the video you will see all their excellent content. Dr. H has another great series called selfprinciple and it's link is right above the comments and I recommend that you Subscribe and Like both sites. Thanks.

The last study about a link between fast food and CKD is interesting. But we need to also ask if it establishes causation. Is it reasonable to ask if those on fast food are more likely to be overweight, diabetic, have high blood pressure, etc., and that's what makes CKD more likely?

Really great information. Thanks for sharing. I’ve been on a plant based diet for a while now but was getting fed up of it. This information has encouraged me to keep going. Thanks

      1. Try the excellent salad bar at the Sizzler, minimize the intake of the poor stuff. 2. Try to get a wide variety of fresh produce and don't overcook it. Try to minimize eating leftovers as they are less tasty and boring. 3. Convert starchy vegs into a water soluble resistant starch and take in small quantities for variety. Basically, you cook the starch and then quickly freeze it, then gently reheat. It works on small purple yams and pasta and in theory should work on other starchy food stuffs. Unfortunately, the results are less palatable than conventional preparation and it takes practice. Microwave reheating can make them watery. 4. Everything seems to taste better after exercise or camping.

I've watched your video on K2 and Kidney health as well as its affects on bone health and protection in heart health, particularly the Aorta.
I have a complicated question no doctor will answer for me.
I had an Aortic valve replacement in "93" with a St. Judes mechanical valve and have been on Coumadin continuously.
I've heard recently that a K2 deficiency causes osteoarthritis. I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in my hands about ten years ago but never put the two together. In addition I've had multiple back surgeries that also require me to take ibuprofen for any relief. I cannot take pain meds as they make me throw up and non functional. Both a deficiency in K2 and the use of ibuprofen are harmful to the kidneys and affect my INR. I have short term memory issues the last couple years as well.....
Lost keys, where'd I put my phone, wallet etc. Getting a bit of afib as well on occasion which I attributed to vagus nerve from eating. I understand that has a brain connection as well as, inflammation, coughing and sneezing etc. all K2 issues.
I hypothesize these are all connected to a K2 deficiency in my case but I've mentioned this to my doctor to blank stares. I'm at the mercy of the V.A. system...
Seeing as how I have to abstain from vegetables high in K2 I am absolutely K2 deficient as it has a high interaction with Warfarin and clotting time (INR).
Am I doomed or is there any option for me short of disease or bone loss, dementia or worse???

Would you be willing to commit one of your programs to the safety of supplements for people with varying degrees of CKD? We take all sorts of vitamins and antioxidants for kidney health but ultimately we may be doing more harm than good. Are there any to avoid? How many supplements can be taken together at one time? Is there a particular schedule for supplements you recommend generally for patients? Thank you ❤

If an individual has had proteinuria and very high blood pressure for months but their kidney ultrasound is fine and GFR>90, do they have CKD ?
If someone develops proteinuria can they reverse it or is their kidney forever damaged ?

Definitely check out our other videos on proteinuria! Proteinuria can definitely be lowered/controlled. High blood pressure would be very important to control as well since that damages the kidneys over time.

Could you please discuss covid-19 and the increase in the progression of T2D and CKD in people infected? Also, I thought you'd mention, xenotransplantation, and the artificial kidney phase projects. Why can't science find a cure or treatment for the damaged or inflammed nephrons? Please, do videos on these different subjects.

You have a great content to listen to, especially Dr Sean Hashmi. But i also have 2 comments: 1) Michele Crosmer talked so fast and she seemed to swallow her words, strange intonation. I am a 30 year Australian resident, educated and worked in OZ, but it is so tired to follow, pity it is a rich content. 2) Only fast words, no accompanying texts or presentations so it is so hard to remember all the good parts, only a few key things
