    Awesome job on showing just how much work bee removals really are, and a super job of editing all that footage to give a concise account of the dismantling of the hive from start to finish. The only time I don't like honey is when it's pouring down on me from above, but it does make my skin soft and my hair shinny. God's peace brother.

    These constructors who decide to use brick as a decorative layer, should learn to fill everything with concrete. Having an empty space like that is a huge mistake

    • @MMGJ10
      @MMGJ10 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      No way man. I'm a bricklayer by trade. There's a treated 6"x6" that supports that deck inside the brick column. The brick isn't even needed, it's just for looks.
      And if it needed to be structural it would handle that just fine.
      Filling it with concrete would create an extremely hard core and the soft(ish) brick expand and contract with heat, cold, freezing, and thawing. This would more than likely cause severe cracking.

    • @hussssshie
      @hussssshie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MMGJ10 I'm living in Europe, we build everything out of brick and mortar. We have been filling holes and walls with concrete, mortar, gravel and what haves you for centuries. Unless it's an area with extreme temperature differentials it's perfectly okay to use.
      Leaving that space empty is still a problem. If water finds it's way in there, it can rot away the 6x6. It's also more prone to pests. Bricks are a structural element, so they should be used like one, or just quit using them.

    • @Page5framing
      @Page5framing 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Filling the void costs money which adds to the cost of the house with very little additional benefit gained. The costs of housing is already getting too high in a lot of areas. Every penny counts.

    • @2005Guyver02
      @2005Guyver02 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Page5framing in that case, the owner needs to put glass/wood/metal doors on 2 sides of each column, so that next time the bees get in, the whole thing can be removed without having to rebuild the brickwork every time they appear.

    • @Page5framing
      @Page5framing 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2005Guyver02 by and large the bees getting into a column is a very very very rare occurrence. The building trade cannot plan for every possible outcome. That is simply not Feasible. We plan for the things that do occur (wind, rain and weather, fire, earthquake, mold and mildew). Pest infestation is entirely out of the realm of home construction. That would be a maintenance issue.
      And although they did save the bees they did not have to. They could have sprayed them and killed the hive. As horrid as that sounds to all us bee lovers out there. (Just sayin. Don’t kill me for it).

    I missed all three of my guesses. 1. Amelia Earhart’s airplane. 2. Adam Schiff’s high school “Mr. Integrity Award”. 3. Nancy Pelosi’s original “Wizard of Oz” costume complete with the black pointy hat. Dang it!

    For this long of brick cut out, Quick Crete has a new product out (that is a cement in a tube) just like caulk. Easy peazy.
