Edit: I watched both Tarja's and Epica on T-Mobile/Magenta and am so bummed that they were not fully uploaded here. They were spectacular and it is buried in some corporation's website.
Hopefullly, we get some more soon.

I can see Simone is really tired. Maybe she was sick or something, but you can hear it by her breath and the fact that her voice sounds "smaller"/"narrower". I can really understand her, there are some really difficult EPICA songs, and Sancta Terra is certainly not one of the easiest. I gotta say though, Simone's still really clever as a performer. She knows when she ain't gonna be able to give her 100% all the time, so she can to conserve some energy that way.
You can hear it in the last chorus here - 5:04. She's not singing all the lines, and that's a clever thing. She could also sing it one octave lower, but of course, it wouldn't have the same impact. She just knows what's best.
I love how the band members still are all enjoying it though, they still have that inner flame...

I love Epica. Sometimes the vocals just lack a little "stamina" live, but I guess its hard. Would love to be there!

a lot of that is down to the reality of "open air" festival soundspace. in a closed venue, the sound literally is thicker and fuller, but at an open air festival there's so much more atmosphere to fill with sound that it's just acoustically thinner. in conjunction, there's a different set of mics and other eq that can go in to open air sets. plus it was probably just fuckdamnedly hellacious hot, which will totally butcher stamina and call for some more conservative approaches to performance at times.
