    I'm not sure if I'm blind but when I would grind mechanics, I noticed that removing lightbulbs/radios and replacing them gave the exact same exp as any other part replacement. So I usually just tow 4-5 cars to my base and every other day will change the lightbulbs/radios between all the cars. That way I still get a lot of mechanics exp without having to worry about destroying potentially useful parts.

      @Retanaru  3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      There isn't much risk when it comes to destroying parts on a car that already started with parts in the low 20% condition wise. On the other hand once you read the skill book you can bang level one mechanic out in a couple minutes of fast forwarding time while failing repeatedly. That'd take days of light bulb replacing with less than 10 cars.

      @@Retanaru That may be true if you only use the lights that are already installed. You aren’t limited to the headlights that are in the car though. If you collect lightbulbs from the lamps and lights found on houses you can significantly increase the amount of xp you can get. Each lightbulb that you have can be installed/uninstalled for xp once a day in each car you have. With just 10 lightbulbs and a few cars I was able to grind from level 0-2 in one day. Now I’ve got 42 lightbulbs collected for future leveling. Radios would work the same but aren’t nearly as good of an option because of their weight.

      @@windflier1684 He isn't saying to reuse the parts. More so to find extra light bulbs to put in. Each light bulb has its own cooldown so 40 light bulbs would get 40 xp ticks. I don't know if that sill works but that's what he was saying.

    The xp for successfully removing an item forces you to wait 24 hours before you can get it again. However, you always get a small bit of xp from failing to remove it, which does not have a cooldown.

    My way of leveling the mechanic skill:
    1. You'll need jack, lug wrench, wrench and a screwdriver (not sure)
    2. Acquire the mechanic books and read the first one
    3. Go to some random car and start off with the wheels, then the brakes and suspension
    4. Put it back together, you should gain first 1,5 lvl with that
    5. Repeat with more advanced books
    With that I gained mechanic 8 in like 40 minutes or even less
    also the VHS tapes are quite op ngl, they are probably even the faster way in terms of exping your skill, but it's a hussle to obtain them.

      Depending on the loot rate, there's plenty of it in VHS shops.
      I think it's either rosewood or riverside that has like 3 vhs shops in the same town.

    for me it works very well to lvl mech and electric at the same time ..just keep all bulbs u get form lamps tv's and radios (in MP use the pickup tool for tv's and radio's if u dismantle them in ur inventory its pretty fast and u dont switch to the screwdriver as weapon) and then replace all light bulbs on cars u can find and for mech lvl just remove the parts u can remove and put it back onto the other side of the car ..i managed to lvl up to mech 2 with removing and putting back all parts on 2 cars (all parts red )and on 4 or 5 i changed all bulbs so it was going pretty "fast" in MP with xp multi at 1,5 ..of course with reading the books before...and u can click multiple times on the remove option and if it fails ur guy will try it again and again automatic till its removed

    Something I've noticed is that hotwired cars have a chance to stall out while driving. Happens with every one of my hotwired cars. I have 2 cars with Keys tho and they never stall. I fixed up all 5 of the cars too, so it isn't an engine/battery problem. I'll just be rolling along, no damage taken to the vehicle, then stall for no reason. Only happens to my hotwired cars too

    • @matthewdev
      @matthewdev 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never had a problem with stalling a hotwired car if the engine quality(not condition) was high enough, mind you that the higher the quality, the harder to hotwire

      @dang3r380 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matthewdev naw all 3 cars were 75% or higher on the engine. I spent hours fixing them up. Still stalls. 2 trucks, 1 car

    • @matthewdev
      @matthewdev 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@dang3r380 again, look at "engine quality", that stat is intrinsic to each car and can't be changed by the player, a higher quality engine is more reliable, but harder to hotwire, it's a different thing than "engine condition" which can be changed by repairing it or removing parts

    I find it easier to just go and disassemble cars out and about carrying around a basic tool set and strip and leave the parts on the ground to powerlevel those first few levels.

  • @lorenzmaut3708
    @lorenzmaut3708 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Just read the book and magazine and then dismantle the parts that have a 20% chance to succeed, i don't like reinstalling because it's really long, better to just take another car to the garage or the zafe zone and do that quickly, with 4 cars you should get to level 2 and then electric one is harder but if you dismantle TV's and radios from the beginning you are gonna be good.

    I just destroy front and back windows whilst trying then remove other window or seats then install those if you read the book, 2-3 cars and a wrench is enough for lvl 2 never ever change tires or lights , it's not worth it

    • @Thingsyourollup
      @Thingsyourollup 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed on tires, takes too long. But I will remove the tires onces and just leave them on the ground because the brake and suspension removal is quick and easily added into your leveling rotation once you hit the appropriate level and eliminate the time sink of the tires.

    • @LH1980XX
      @LH1980XX 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you do it on different cars yeah.
      If you do it on the same car then no.
      You get .75 (with the x3 multiplier if you read the book) per light bulb you get install and reinstall so 1.25 per bulb so each car you get 5xp for the lights. .25xp for the radio .25xp for the battery.
      It's a hell of a grind and tbh boring
