I agree about Charade Maniacs! It had so much potential but a lot of the scenes felt surprisingly slice of life considering the crazy situation they were in. The tension should have been ramped up a lot more It has my favourite LI of last year though, Iochi! I dearly wish Ogata Megumi would voice more otome characters

(I'll never get over baked beans beind described in the JP version as 'beans delicately cooked in british style tomato sauce' lmao) Futami ended up being my favourite, but Iochi was pretty cool too. I liked that they were such a unique character!!!

For me: Charade maniacs is a rewrite Cupid parasite is a reread (not the FD tho 🤣) Virche needs a rewrite for sort of retelling the story again in one of the routes (also, we can’t call that science, turn that part of your brain off😂) Code realize- haven’t played, your hot take makes me want to play it so see what I think Radiant tale - burn. Burn it. I keep getting otome burn out every time I pick it up. If we burn it, it won’t make me feel guilty for having it still in my backlog At the end of the day, I am really glad they localise these games, we are so lucky to have so many options
Our opinions seem to always align most of the time, and it’s funny how you felt about RT given I was personally very surprised how much I ended up enjoying it. Which routes have you played so far? Don’t feel guilty not finishing it! I have so many in my backlog that I don’t think I’ll ever touch again because they simply were not for me 🤣 I may do another one of these, they’re very easy to record/edit which is always a plus!

I got burnt out in Zafora’s route and had to put the game down, ate up paschalia’s route, that was delicious, and now I am struggling with ion’s route…. I am part way into ions route and I pick up every now and then to make my way through it and have to put it down. It’s a pretty game! And the characters I am most interested in I haven’t played yet - I think I will like Radie the most, I just have to get there….
@@liss3089 Hahaha that's funny because Paschalia was my favourite route in the end! I think followed by Radie (favourite LI), then Ion = Dragon boy, with Zafora unfortunately coming last (he didn't have enough screen time imo). I hope you're able to at least enjoy Radie when you get to his route!

Fun! I have a couple of those in my backlog that I can’t wait to experience. I agree with you on Code Realize. I loved the LIs as characters, but the pacing was off for me and it dragged. I had a hard time getting through it, even though I liked the characters themselves. Thanks for the fun takes!
I hope you enjoy the ones you're curious about! I think the problem I had with CR is that the common route was just so long and not to mention there was a lot of slice of life moments within that common route that I had experienced in many other games prior. It's definitely a personal thing than an objective statement imo, but I guess that's the purpose of these videos! Thank you for watching and commenting 💕
Honestly I kind of get your option on code realize BUT victor did save the game for me, I always think of him fondly and I do want to get around to playing the fandisck for him in particular 🤭
This was fun, I would like to see more with other games. Charade Maniacs: I haven't finished it but I definitely agree that it could be darker. Since with the a concept like this you kind of expect and want it to commit to a dark premise. I feel like Sweet Fuse took the Danganronpa otome game a bit better. I haven't finished Sweet Fuse either but out the two I liked Sweet Fuse more. Cupid Parasite: I enjoyed it and it is one of my favorites as well. Virche: I have heard some mixed parts about Virche. I haven't gotten past the common route yet. I will have to see when I get further. But it seems like it could go into Piofiore territory then as being dark and some key flaws. But a game I could like. Code Realize: I like Code Realize's characters and concept. But I remember feeling kind of off put by the original game. I think when I played the FDs. I grew to love the characters more and everything more. Impey became a comfort character for me and I enjoyed it more because romance was way more focused as it fixed the issue of it being plot heavy. I think the FDs perfectly fixed the issues I had. I liked the characters but I think it was the long common route and how plot heavy it was. So the FDs helped me like Code Realize. Radiant Tale: I only finished Paschalia's route so far. But really am enjoying it. It does give cozy vibes.

Yeah I really did feel guilty when admitting it because I know how so many people adore that game esp given it was one of the few that were localised back when otome wasn't as well known as now. Understandable about Charade Maniacs, and with so many characters as well, it was quite an ambitious game tbh. Which route did you like most?
1:13 "cozy comfort": even Allen's route? Which is my fave, btw. Rekt me! The secret sixth LI is wonderful, too, but after Allen, I always think she should be with him. (If I'm the person playing - everyone pick your own fave! ❤️💕)
They all had happily ever afters and even the bad endings didn't feel that bad so while there was angst in the journey I could relax and play like I would watch a hollywood movie 😂 But yessss!!! No couple is imo as 'meant to be' as those two! I'm glad I played his route last (excluding secret LI ofc) because his would have ruined all the others haha
