I'm so happy I found a review on this movie, I felt really similarly about it and I wanted to see that other people might have had the same thoughts. I definitely agree that it felt like everything that happened didn't really seem to make sense or was too convenient to feel believable. Not a terrible movie but I was definitely disappointed leaving the theatre, I though the concept was interesting and I was hoping it would be executed better.

If you haven't seen it, check out the movie, "Mr. Brooks". It a similar concept, but done well.

Shyamalan movies are a genre of its own.

I really enjoyed this movie while also consciously knowing it's really goofy, full of plot holes and completely missed the mark of what it was trying to achieve. Some of the absurd number of coincidences that make the plot move forward make it feel cartoonish in a way, maybe if had been a dark comedy instead of a thriller it would have worked better. The setting of a concert was really cool and interesting too, so that disappointed me.
I will say there were a couple scenes that kinda freaked me out (no overt spoilers, but the oil bottle scene.... Genuine gore-horror stuff) and the actor who played the main character was so strange that I felt was a bit unsettling.
I can't say that it's a "so bad that it's good" movie, a la Neil Breen, but it's still a fun watch.

I found it so absurd that it was enjoyable at seeing how bizarre it was

I haven't truly liked an M Night movie since Unbreakable. And I kind of-sort of liked Signs and The Visit. The Village was merely PASSABLE. Everything else has been a stinking dumpster fire.

@@win9804 Oh wait I forgot about Split. Yes that was good. I should probably watch it again as I don't remember it much now.

M Night is all concept and no substance
