Greetings from California! This time of year my jalapenos get smaller and the serranos look gnarly, while the chile de arbol are still chugging away. There are some peppers I don't recall planting. But they recover from the summer heat and give a last ditch effort. Soon I harvest them all, dry on the smoker and grind up some delicious special chipotle!

Perhaps a few pods from time to time may enhance your healing recovery? Have been under the weather myself, but must get out to the garden space again today and pick off a round of ripe pods also. Nobody has more courage than you, Rob, eating SO MANY of these chili peppers on camera! I've grown a few of the hottest species for many years, but I NEVER eat any of them raw like that. I use them all to make fermented pepper sauces that I bottle up. Those are PLENTY hot enough, but can be easily diluted in cooking. I also like to lightly dap cheese cubes, meats, and raw crudités into coin-sized puddles of those sauces. Their wonderful unique flavors always come through that way, and nobody suffers unbearably from the experience. Many people also ask me for them, so I count that as great gardening success. Not even close to yours though. Best wishes, and take care of yourself!
Yup, way too hot for eating raw like that for me as well. I turn them into powders by drying and crushing them. Only the very tip of a popsicle stick for a scoop with Reaper powder is required for a whole pot.
Thanks! I like peppers preserved and prepared all ways and at all heat levels, but I really enjoy eating them freshly picked. They're so zingy. It's the best part of summer for me. Best wishes!

My sister just turned me onto you......I am absolutely OBSESSED! IM GONNA EAT SOME PEPPERS IN THE SUN AND HAVE A COLD ONE 🙏 The older I get my stomach can't handle it anymore, which makes me so very sad because my mouth loves it so much 😔 maybe I need to make a sacrifice to the pepper gods, so I can enjoy them again
Great video, Rob! An idea for winter content: maybe grow two of your favorite varieties in your Aerogarden and attempt to hybridize them to make a new variety! The more of these youtube videos I watch like your videos and a few other channels, the more crazy and bizarre varieties I find out about that I've never even heard of haha it's incredible what's out there in the pepper world... I live in Australia and we don't have access to a lot of those more bizarre varieties. I've been wanting to grow chocolate scotch bonnets for ages now but can't get them anywhere here. Have you ever grown them before Rob? Ed Currie thinks they're one of the best peppers you can ever use for cooking.

If you like variegated Jalapeno phenotypes... I have several different varieties and phenotypes from a few different Jalapeno lines. I'm a huge fan as well given that I collect variegated Jalapeno from other hybridizers as well as make my own variegategd Jalapeno crosses. There are after all over 6 recessive variegated genes for the Capsicum genus.
@@7PotClub It absolutely is interesting to me as well. I have multiple phenotypes I am chasing of some of the variegated Jalapeno lines as the colors can range from dark purple black with lighter purple, white purple, green white and purple, etc. So much diversity to chase and I absolutely love the stripes as they mature on the pepper giving the jalapenos some real character whether they are pickled or stuffed.

I ate a little less of the hotter peppers this time and I did just fine. Our 2nd floor deck is kind of like a tree house. A nice place to be.
