Karla Sofía, Selena and Zoe just won the best actress award at cannes
They deserve it it was very challenging role for Selena but she nailed it
And Adriana Paz along with them!
@@addelrey3944 that's what I said " they deserved it ".
@@Yuliya-yo1scHave you seen the movie?
Selena is turning into the moviestar she always was meant to be
Oh I just got chills thinking about that standing ovation that she received. She’s COMING for that Oscar nomination next year.
@@perryjones7771bro said "Oscar" 💀💀💀
@@mrrekt2272 it's up to selena if she wants that oscar nomination, so she can start her campaign
The reason why I think she might be a contender, it’s because of likability. She worked with The Martins, Bill Murray, Meryl Streep, Tilda Swinton, Adam Driver, Chloe Sevigny, Shirley MacLaine, Melissa Mccarthy, Brad Pitt, Salma Hayek, Nicole Kidman, Austin Butler, Reese Whiterspoon, RDJ, Timothee Chalamet, Felicity Huffman, all of them AMPAS members, all of them expressed how much they like her
That could be enough for them to include her in their ballots, maybe not as #1 (except the omitb cast, they definitely will place her at the top) but it could be enough. But the issue is her film being in spanish and the lgbt subject
@@perryjones7771”She” didn’t receive the standing ovation. The CAST/MOVIE did. Of course, every cast member were given a moment of acknowledgment individually during the standing ovation.
this is a huge moment for selena gomez ahead of her being the star of the upcoming linda ronstadt biopic. i think she's finally being recognised as a serious actress
Not gonna lie I could see her winning on her first Oscar nomination if everything goes right for her.
@@perryjones7771 selena along with zoe, karla and adriana just won the cannes best actress award!! a huge feat
I've only seen her in Only Murders in the Building and I was not impressed. I hope this movie changes my mind
@@rafaelcruz9973she had a really strong run on Disney channel, wizards of every place , I know Disney channel shows aren’t “serious acting “ but Selena had a really impressive comedic timing and a natural delivery and overall acting, I’d recommend it if you haven’t seen it, I think because she took such a long break from acting that she used only murders in the building as a stretching period , to get used to it again
3:10 she actually won, along with Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldana and Adriana Paz from this movie
The Oscars seriously need to do away with letting the country pick their movies. It’s ridiculous at this point.
I hope Karla, Zoe and Selena get some oscar nominations
It's all up to netflix now
You are kidding right? Selena for an Oscar? Seriously?
Selena and Oscar? 😂😂

Congrats on future best picture nominee Anora and best director nominee Sean Baker
I saw the movie yesterday and I cried at the end. Selena is quite good in this.
Where did you watch it? I wanna see it 🥺
It was Avant Premier in Paris. There were only 2 seances.
read it's coming to yhe states next year!
Enjoying your Cannes reviews Brother Bro - thank you!
I would absolutely 1000% see this film for Selena’s presence alone.
No, I won't see this picture for Selena Gomez's presence alone. But I will watch it for Edgar Ramirez's presence alone
I'm so tired of the best movie not being submitted by the country for political reasons. The Academy needs to get rid of this rule. They should've nominated Anatomy of a Fall and RRR
Been waiting to see this one
Please review The Seed of the Sacred Fig! If it’s really such a big Oscar contender that you have it #2 for Picture on the Awards Contender app, I want to know about it!
He left before he could see it
That’s the only reason I’ll see it because of Selena, even her small part in a rainy Day in New York❤
Edgar Ramirez is an underrated actor
Yes!
I can't believe the level of censorship in India is being compared to that of Iran. 😢
It's disheartening to see how things have evolved here. 😞
They are exaggeratving India's situation.. 🙄
The ladies won the actress award at Cannes!
Love Audiard’s storytelling, with human connections that hit hard. Paris 13th District is my sleeper recommendation that is always appreciated.
Bro where is all we imagine as light
There is a brazillian movie made by Walter Salles that can be a strong contender for Internacional feature. The name is Ainda Estou Aqui. I think it will release in Venice.
Your thumbnail reaction shots never really match your actual review. It's confusing.
I think it's good because of the surprise element. You want to know what my man thought about it? Watch the video.
Keeps you on your toes.
@@RodrigoMenezesssCompletely disagree. People use reaction shots that match the review for a reason. You click on it because you wanna know why. No need to be deceptive or incongruent.
Can you do for MPOC next.
Why haven't you covered All the imagine as light?
I'm glad that you didn't eat this up like everyone else. 🙌
we still have venice, tiff, and locarno for any source of possible best international picture noms (and don't count out berlinale that happened early this year).
can i know why All We Imagine as Light won't be submitted by india?
i like how the boss of the méxican cartel is from spain 🇪🇸 😂😂😂
turns out the three women main characters actually one the best actress award at cannes.
Have you seen 'All We Imagine As Light'? If yes then how was it?
I appreciate your critical thinking skills and film knowledge.
Oh snap!
Netflix is where Oscar-bait films go to die 🤦🏾♀
LITERALLY
I mean they've won big categories with Roma, The Power of the Dog, and Marriage Story. I think it really depends on the film and this is a strong one.
@@miguellozano28 Netflix's record over the past five years of nominations vs wins:
2024: 19 nominations - 1 win
11 films nominated
2023: 16 Nominations - 6 wins
Eight films nominated.
2022: 27 Nominations - 1 win
Ten films were nominated.
2021: 36 Nominations - 7 wins
Sixteen films nominated.
2020: 24 Nominations - 2 wins
Eight films nominated.
Not great. And Emilia Perez will not be the only Oscar hopeful they purchase. They get the nominations but there is def a stigma about Netflix still within the Academy. The film would have to be undeniably strong (and the strongest of the Oscar films Netflix will acquire). We'll see as we get closer to the season.
netflix is just distributing it in US
it will be on theaters worldwide
@@dacrimsoncurse That's good to know and great for the film. But Netflix will likely be in charge of the awards campaign.
Live beautiful queen Salena always gorgeous and talented
So the apartment is yours and Justin just pays some visits?
Oh yeah, this is a musical... so... I'm seated.
Looks superlative
Honestly, seeing a trans woman win Best Actress at Cannes would make my heart so happy
Edit: Ya girl is a happy camper
I'm sure it would 😂
@@reservoirdude92 ? … yeah, it would.
@@reservoirdude92 Lmao, what is that supposed to mean?
Loooooove to see a trans women on the Cannes stage get that award but am I wrong or did she did it was her award and not an ensemble award? At least that’s how the jury decided which is so cool. I’m also Mexican and I haven’t seen the film so I can’t say whether Karla Is good or not but it gets exhausting watching Spanish people “play” Mexican characters and getting awards for it. I bet there were thousands of trans MEXICAN actresses who would’ve killed it. Just my extremely humble opinion.
@@rudyl4341the four women won
Did you watch the Indian film that won 2nd PRIZE? 🤔🤔
I can already see why this will win the Palme..
It's probably gonna be The substance
@@seragyasser2005OR ANORA , Sacred feed or kind of kindness
It didn’t
No, it didn't.
Didn't win the Palme but it's the first film in 23 years to win 3 awards at Cannes.
Selena Gomez is COMING.
Does the movie has lesbian scenes?
I would see it for Selena Gomez tbh
I’ll watch the movie because of SELENA GOMEZ❤
