One of the recent tough challenges that I'm facing right now would have to be being able to do a climb up without a running start. Reason its difficult is lack of strength since I don't have the pullup yet. Also doing the speed vaults more cleanly when the obstacle is half my height which is new for me. I recently got the confidence to clear the obstacle with the speed vault but my form was off, like i was more contorted then i should be if that makes any sense.
@@jditty150 Yes that makes perfect sense! Climb ups are still so confusing for me too. Getting your vault smooth will help with a lot of confidence too. You start realizing being relaxed and smoothing stuff out is a HUGE benefit.
@@Balczak Definitely agreed. I do parkour lines from time to time but most of the time for the time being I'm more focused on building strength and technique. I feel like in the long run it will help out, but this is me personally.
That kong looking real good. Clipprd my foot on one the other day, the fear was real. Luckily good ol' training kicked in and I was able to bail safely. Which was good, bc the other side was a 6 foot drop.😅
Fun vlog. I understand not feeling comfortable precision landing on a rail, I started solo training parkour and leanring this year and generally precision jumps and vaults tend to scare me. I love rails like that though, for stuff like vaulting over rolling under, italian job or whatever it's called where you scissor swing your legs over it. Nice spot with all those ledges and that rail :)
Its easy to forget that you just started parkour thanks to your background in track sports. Really nice bro, keep it up! As for the kong, I'm glad that you cleared the chest high wall and a tip I'll give you is to try to pull the obstacle behind you as hard as you can to get more distance and control out of it. And the two step wall run, watch Tapp brothers tutorial. Their channel helped me the most back then 😉
Cool video and concept once again! So enjoyable to watch. You have an insane height on your catpass, I keep thinking to myself that I can’t do shoulder height kongs but when I see this I think I am at least able to get my feet on top for a plyo.. gonna try that. While Im at it, your wall pass looks like you focus on the foot that goes on the wall for a powerful push. I’ve found that when I focus on a powerful last step up off the ground, I can get much more height easily. I’ve even switched my legs around so my dominant is doing the floor and my nondominant is on the wall. Might be something to try!
Definitely try the tall kong! It was easy getting up there, the scary part was adding the speed to clear it. And yeah the wall run was just a weird one. Switching feet may actually help, which is odd, because I’m so used to sticking with 1 takeoff foot in track, so swapping is just a weird concept lol.
@@Balczak I can imagine, but the 'switch' does not feel like a switch to me at all. I used to focus on the wall as my takeoff foot, but now I focus on my last step on the ground as my takeoff, so the move just starts earlier in my head and it felt very natural from the first time I tried it that way. That really surprised me. And it makes it easier to switch if you mess up your run up too, I just switch to focusing on taking off from the wall instead of the ground and I can usually make it anyway, so I suddenly have access to both legs to take off for a wall run! Going to try that kong indeed! I'm not on insta but I might report back here :)
Dude anytime I see ppl do rail sticks it 🤯 so I feel you on that haha KONGAROO MANNNN! That kong was so sick! Love the bail edit on IG 😂 Deff have to invest in camera umbrellas for this summer hahahha

I saw that catpass on reddit today and it blew my mind! The height you got was crazy.
Yo whats up man?! Yeah it is getting some love over there for sure, gotta love it!
Impressive! Your track background really coming into play with that cat pass! You got the power in all the right places, it's beautiful!
Track 100% helped with that bad boy!

Gotta love when things go wrong and your body and prior experience just takes over! Glad you made it out safely 🤙🏼
I trained at a spot yesterday almost the exact same as that first spot😂

Toby Segar would be proud of that catpass
I certainly hope so! Talk about a check off the list if he is 🤙🏼
You are so unbelievably good, for just doing it since three months!
Ahhh thanks man! I’m only good at certain things, struggle in a lot of areas.
Maybe you can try two-step wall runs?
That was the goal! I was just struggling with it.
@@Balczak keep practicing! You will get it
Whew! The height on that cat pass was MASSIVE. Kudos 🙌🏾
Yeah it’s a tall boy. Even better, I’ve got one on my list that’s even taller 🤙🏼
Man that cat pass was crazy but because I'm weirdI was more impressed by how high you were hitting that pole on the first challenge
Thanks!! I think I might be able to go taller.
