I just realized both Mettaton EX and Spamton NEO have attacks that do nothing and simply count as a free turn. Mettaton has Happy Breaktime, and Spamton has A Call For Me. They both also use miniature versions of themselves as attacks.
Oh my god, it sounds like it was supposed to be there, everything makes sense. NEO leitmotif is because of mettaton NEO, Dummy leitmotif because Dummy is a Mettaton's cousin. Phone rings are probably because of calls at the end or because of yellow mode is activated by the phone.
or maybe the dummy is related to being an amalgamation of things or something being controlled, and the phones are from spamton's phone calls? not everything is absurdly related to one another in undertale, you know

i think this is really cool honestly!! and i also think it changes his vibes and the vibes of his fight a LOT.. with this song over it the battle looks harder, he seems a lot more menacing and bloodthirsty, and like his only objective is getting frisk's soul instead of getting their soul AND giving the underground a good show before he leaves. it makes you feel as if you were fighting him in a genocide run.
I had this idea before which is replacing all the music from undertale with the deltarune soundtrack and/or vise versa, that would be so fun to experience and this video proves it ^^

You mean, why didn't the soul shoot a Big Shot? Because that's only inside Deltarune's code. Unfortunately, it also seems that unless Kris faces another opponent with a Yellow Soul mechanic, they won't be able to shoot a Big Shot anymore for a while. The entire yellow soul part is a reference to THIS fight. The fact that Frisk isn't a Big Shot shows that their soul can only shoot peashooter projectiles. Meanwhile, Kris is most certainly a Big Shot (and who WOULDN'T BE after surviving the fucking trap in the Basement) and they're able to actually shoot a Big Shot, although, the entire Big Shot mechanic is probably just the Joke™ of Chapter 2 because the secret boss here is a Big Shot and to defeat a Big Shot, you need to shoot a Big Shot! Which is probably why Toby coded a STRONG, or well, Big Shot, that can actually hurt the body that Spamton steals when you download him inside the disk and put the disk in the Robot.

Almost all attacks from Spamton Neo are the same or similar to Mettaron EX's attacks
Basically Spamton mirrors Mettaton encounter on a technical level, which is cool.

Fun fact: Spamton NEO's theme is actually labeled as Spamton Ex's theme in the game files, meaning that he was originally planned to be EX
