      God bless you Dee, can I encourage you to rest in psalm 91? God cares for you and will carry you, as He did me during my chemo and I am so thankful and hopeful throughout and He filled me with Peace and Joy during my battle. Love you and all. Blessings over this community. ❤️

    I’m relieved to hear that there has been no change with the cancer. You are looking good. If I didn’t know about your diagnosis I would never have thought that you are sick. You carry yourself really well and it’s inspiring. I honestly don’t know how you manage work, kids and all of this. Sending you love ❤️

    I have been following you for the last two years, having myself metastatic breast cancer twice. Now my cancer is gone in the liver . I’m bald and full of cortisone, feeling like Dumbo’s mum. Fatigue is always there. It’s difficult to eat. Taste buds are gone. I’m trying to keep my mood uplifting all the time. I understand everything you say, I would like to open a little TH-cam channel too 😅 but my body is too weak…. Anyway, I’m happy there are people who can do it, like you! I send you a big hug from Italy. Everything will be all right, you’ll see❤

    Dee, I’ve subscribed to your channel when I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer several years ago, and I always appreciate your insights and you sharing your experiences with treatments, etc. So happy your scans show “Stable.” Odd, isn’t it? When stable is good news. I used to think it odd but as I travel this road I’ve come to understand that stable is good. I pray you continue to do well, prosper and be in good health.

    You look great! I am on Letrozole have been for almost 3 years. I will be 65 Saturday and I only had to have radiation and Letrozole. I have only noticed more atrophy and easier to get UTIs not sure if it’s from Letrozole or just my age. I did have hot flashes just exactly like I had going through menopause but that has all settled down. You are a beautiful young lady just keep that positive attitude!! Praying for healing!!!

    Hey girl, these videos are so so important - you've built a community in an area that is just way too quiet. You've done wonders for me and my family - thank you so much. In addition, you are doing so well. I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you!!!! Heads up, the weight drops off following treatment - however do keep up what you're doing because you want to give your body the best fighting chance to beat this xxxx

    Dee thank u - I really appreciate u sharing your experience. Yes I put on weight on chemo (60% do apparently) and yes the AIs make it sooo hard to lose weight. Good shout on the diet, if diet cured cancer all the Drs would be recommending it instead of chemo. I got asked if I was cutting sugar out to “starve” the cancer 😡😡 and yes we def need more research on how to make the side affects of treatment manageable, wishing u all the best with your treatment

    • @DeeDoherty
      @DeeDoherty  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    So happy to hear you’re doing good. I’ve been following you because you’re so upbeat. My sister has a rare aggressive uterine cancer. After she finished her chemo and radiation, she had a CT scan which showed enlarged lymph nodes around her aorta which is where her particular cancer (serous carcinoma) frequently spreads. I’m taking her Wednesday for a PET scan. We’re all very worried. The 5-yr survival rate is 17% if there are metastasis to those nodes although I realize it’s just a statistic. She meets with her oncologist a few hours after the PET scan. Anyway, I’m saying prayers for both of you. ❤

    I just happened across this video tonight and the whole time I was watching I was thinking what a strikingly beautiful young woman you are.. with the hair colour perfectly complementing your eyes. So I was shocked to hear that trolls would come on and say you looked tired and ill or whatever.. ugh what is WRONG with people nowadays that - even if it were true, which it isn't - they would say that to someone struggling with a serious illness??!! There is no graciousness in society anymore. And yes I'm a 55 year old mom and fuddy duddy I'm sure but it really annoys me!! I hate steroids because the weight gain and how you can't sleep. It does not matter what you eat or drink because even people with the best life and the traits and eat well get cancer. My daddy was the healthiest person I have ever seen in my life and never smoked, never drunk, never ate any junk food ect and he died at 43 with cancer so to all the people who continue to throw that crap out there I got news for you all when your time is up its up no matter what you do.

    Dear Dee, thank you giving your experience to the world. I went through it 4 years ago and I am, what they call "cancer free" today. Don't know if you can use this little bit of information but at least you have the choice after eventually investigating it further. If I should "do it again" I would make sure I was under ketosis as soon as possible starting treatment (use keto meter to validate), together with chemo etc. I found out that the science behind is much clear. I noticed you mentioned it one place in your video very briefly, just to say what I believe it could be an important and free tool together with the rest of your treatment. Much love❤

    Glad to hear your scan results were good! The aromatase inhibitors defintely make weight loss tough, just like any menopause. There are a lot of reasons why, partly because since your ovaries dont make estrogen so your body wants to hang onto fat because fat naturally produces estrogen.
    Ive found it difficult to lose weight on my AI ( exemestane). Not impossible, but litterally about 4x as slowly as before starting it. Ive been doing 16hr fasting and low (ish) calories, sugar, and carbs. Its slow, but it has worked!

      Yeah I’m the same! When I’m off it if I wanted to drop a few points on the scale before a holiday I could do it a month or two before…. But now you have to be soo careful of what you eat. I just hate feeling too tight in my clothes. It’s not like you go up in size everywhere so a bigger size doesn’t help 🫣 The struggle is real!! 😂😂

    • @DeeDoherty
      @DeeDoherty  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@PaulWK1972 do you know what, the abemeciclib is actually horrendous in terms of side effects from what I’ve heard. Diarrhea is a main one. But the dosage can be lowered?
      Ribociclib is mine… but from what I can gather it isn’t covered by a lot of insurance in the states so it’s not generally offered. But they all do the same thing, if she’s in a bad way they might change it for her? If it’s affecting her quality of life she shouldn’t accept it. ❤ 🤞

    • @PaulWK1972
      @PaulWK1972 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DeeDoherty Hiya Dee, she's very reluctant to come off it despite the side effects, because she wants to use every tool available to keep things at bay or even get rid of it for hopefully a very long while. The Abemaciclib does seem to have some very good results in trials.
      So there's a scan early December, an oncology appointment mid December and we see where we are then. Hopefully the news will be positive and she can consider lowering the dose - there's 3 strengths and she's currently on the highest. So there's definitely room to manouvere if it's working and she wants to stay on.
      Another thing about the abemaciclib is that they give it constantly rather than in 3 week on 1 week off cycles as you're on. Ironically it's working out that she has to take a week off anyway every month because of her bloods.
      The oncologist did mention that she could lower the dose going forwards at her last appointment so I think that's what will happen x

I thought I will just share. Take care be positive with the God's help we can go through any difficult situation.

    I was on Aromatase inhibitors and had to take a break while on chemo and the first time taking it , caused weight gain… the second time around I did not feel the same. My appetite subsided which is great. Not sure if it was the break between or other factors.

    Happy for you to be stable. Keto can't cure anyone just help and people acting like ayatollahs about nutrition for the cancer patients should consult a shrink. I have Ibrance and get a lot of fatigue too.

    i wonder if semulglutide could starve the CA, & control the weight sfx. (tho cachexia would be a hesitation, & as you said: you were on keto prior - then gained weight during treatment, so.) thr is always more to know. thx, gr8 vid again. _JC

    Hello Dee
    Glad there is good news yea!
    I honestly had ti giggle when the poolwater chnged your hair color. Years ago i dyed my hair burgundy. Being in the chlorinated water mine turned green! 😂
    Back in the early 90s green hair wasn't a thing LOL.
    Ignore the rude comments that's exactly what they are RUDE.
    Sending hugs! 😊

    Girl I was on keto for years before I got cancer too! Keto isn’t gonna prevent cancer, but it will keep you from gaining weight while on hormone or anti hormone therapy. Also, frequent snacking, whether low carb or not, will keep our insulin spiking and that inhibits fat burning. Stick to 2 low carb meals a day & u won’t have a problem…but you may be miserable 😂

    Alot of people have said they found out they had cancer and they ate keto. I don't know because I have to eat Low Fodmap. It's miserable. I honestly think you'll get cancer if you're going to get cancer. People are horrible. Keep doing what you're doing!!!

    Keto is not a cure but it can help you. If you gained on keto you may not have been doing it properly, it’s much more than just cutting carbs and sugar, Not quackery it’s facts look it up

    • @DeeDoherty
      @DeeDoherty  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’ve misunderstood. Keto curing cancer is quackery. I gained on chemo (not doing keto obviously because I couldn’t eat). So the cure not the diet
