Do these songs still count as flop if they have huge streaming numbers now? Is the chart position the only thing that matter? The Man is almost at 1B streams for example
The fact that any of these songs charted kinda… invalidates them as “failed singles.” At least IMO. So I’d say no, they don’t count as flops especially if they ended up doing good streaming numbers
Well, marry the night was actually the 5th single from BTW, although initially planned as the first it finally had its moment in the last part of 2011: one of the best rollout years for gaga, it did decently to be a 5th single
When you have a long career, you’ll have both hits and flops. The fact that you’re still at the forefront after so many years says something. It’s not a coincidence. It’s the result of continuous effort. At some point, you’re no longer judged solely by your chart performance or streams. For example, Beyoncé no longer has the hits she once did, but people still want to see her on tour.
İ think the reason why run the world by beyonce flopped because of using new sound, because till Beyonce this kind of sounds and songs are not famous. But run the world was global hit
Jennifer Lopez has also had many flop singles. One particular disaster was "Louboutins", released in 2009. It failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. The timing was terrible as she was singing about luxury footwear amid a global recession. Her other US flops include "Baby I Luv U", "I Luh Ya Papi", "Papi", "Ain't Your Mama", "First Love", and "Can't Get Enough". Plus many others.
@@sg8191 Yes, I think she's an "entertainer", like Madonna or Janet Jackson, who have passable voices but are more about the visual presentation. Taylor often releases some songs that seem like a flop. Yet, the media and fans make it seem like those songs are a hit. Any song off Reputation or after that album seems like a flop.
Example for charts and Big hit(,,flop") Are two songs: Bar song no 1 on bilbourd hot 100, Die with a smile(Big internacional hit) Is no 3 on bilboard hot 100. In Europe no one know for bar song. 😂
Kylie Minogue has unfortunately had plenty of flops. Some examples.... Finer Feelings - Where Is The Feeling - Some Kind Of Bliss - The One - I Was Gonna Cancel....

Marry The Night is one of Gaga’s best hits
One of the best songs AND videos of all time.
I will never understand why KISS IT BETTER was a flop in the US …
People suck that’s why
Don't worry, it's 3X platinum today. It's vibe cannot be denied 🤷🏾♂️
Me either love that song
Ikrrrrr
Because "work" was so huge!! 🙂
Unpopular opinion: if marry the night was released as the first single off btw if would have been a no1 hit
Everyday was the fourth single, the second one was Into You. Also POV didn’t have a proper rollout including the non-release of the music video.

End Game, Out Of Time, pov & Kiss It Better DEFINITELY deserved so much better. But Kiss It Better is 3X Platinum tho 😏
Grammy nominated tho (kiss it better)

"16 Carriages" is such a beautiful, powerful song. It's one of the best tracks on Cowboy Carter. It deserved much more love than it received.
Ikr it's my fav song from Beyoncé, sad to see that it doesn't get the love it deserves
I almost cried seeing this. 16 carriages is a masterpiece, Texas hold 'em can't come close to it.

I wouldn't call Everyday a "flop" tbh it is still a relatively known song from Ariana
exactly + it was a 4th single not 2nd like he said, so it was doing fine (and she wasn't as massive as she is now)
Run The World became one of Beyoncé's biggest anthems even not reaching a top 10
I Was thinking work it out from beyonce was a bigger flop than run the World.
Anthem? That b put up with fugly cheating husband and said girls run the world?

Most of POV's chart run was as non-single if I am not mistaken. It was pretty stable for the 0 promo it got.
