Hi, good video! Just out of interest what are they like with the more delicate plant species?

How do you sex them? Males have the usual pointed dorsal fin but can you tell on colouration when they’re Juveniles? I read on one site that the males have the spot and females the stripe but how does this change as they grow? Just bought what I was hoping to be a female at 2.5” had spot and dorsal rounded, others same size in shop had stripe and dorsal pointed yet according to this site I read on the female have stripe. They’re amazing fish.

Hello! Can I put pair H. Nicaraguensis in 110x50x50cm tank? 250 liter, or 60-65 gallons? Tnx...

I think that would be ok. I had breeders in a similar size aquarium.

Not Placid whatsoever, at least not the one that I owned mine was an absolute maniac oh, he was in a 220 gal with footlong Oscars and he was kicking the crap out of every single Oscar in that tank he was beating up Red Devils that were three times his size, the one that I owned was an absolute wrecking machine he would chase you from one end of an 8 ft tank all the way over to the other end of my 8-foot tank absolutely relentless psycho, so be where they are not all Placid peaceful community fish
