There is a lot advantages having a knife that is useful and affordable. The knife materials are durable, sturdy, and not meant to be heirlooms just useful tools. I like them and I believe most young people will too. The bright colors and simple design is a smart idea. Thank you for showing some nice less costly knives than usual. 🙂🥂✨
I have one of these and it’s indeed a nice lightweight knife for foodprep, picknicks etc. I thought their marketing picture is based upon the idea of being the modern Opinel. And for the price it’s a great tool! Thanks for the video.
Most excellent, sir. I like the potential folding picnic functionality of this series of knives. I am also a big mid lock-back fan vs. liner lock. Also love the Opinel series too! Thanks for bring us this video.
I come for the knives, but I stay for the food preparation. As always, your information and presentation are exquisite. It is fun to see an inexpensive (yet well made) knife get the "Schmalhaus" treatment. I can imagine these knives going back home, passing by a Perceval or Laplace and giving them that look that says, "Yeah, you saw what we did with that cheese and sausage; and he didn't even show you how fine we could cut those radishes." In all seriousness, the knives do have an elegance to them (that drop point blade is excellently aligned with the handle's spine). I'm not as big a fan of the modern touches (the geometric design on the FRN, the thumb hole, coating, and spider design), but that's just my preference--for those who like those features the company looks to have incorporated those elements in a simple, yet striking way. The comparison to Opinel is spot on (I wish they would make a drop point blade for their no. 8).
Thank you for yet another presentation Herr Schmalhaus! This will be my second blade purchase based on your informative review. Seems to me like an ideal travel knife. Not familiar with this particular steel, but 16% chromium should be able to put up with lots of neglect in hiking backpack before it starts corroding. It is little thicker than slicey Opinel though. If that (flat) grind is executed well, it should still cleanly cut bratwurst and Balkan style bacon. Cheers from Sweden!
@@StefanSchmalhaus An iconic Mercator. I ordered two of them directly from the manufacturer. Over the years I somewhere stumbled into them, but only learned about their historical value from your video. I opted to get them in SS handle/blade version...
Cette ligne, cet angle sur le manche pour donner un effet de style n’est ni beau, ni ergonomique... je vois déjà la terre du jardin s’y incruster. Personnellement j’affectionne les styles épurés, plus faciles d’entretien.
@@StefanSchmalhaus this video was completely in keeping with all of Mr Schmalhaus's other reviews. (Albeit rather short and lacking in the caveat that this is not a robust knife design, he does compare the knives to an Opinel, which should tell you right away where.it fits in the market). If this does not meet your expectations, you must be unfamiliar with his work.

Thank you so much for your kind words!
Very nice video, as usual, and really affordable knives for daily use, or simply to add to collection.
16€ in France, not bad.
Thank you!
Mouthwatering. And the knife looks like a useful tool too. Thanks for introducing me to it, Stefan.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! The Opinel comparison immediately crossed my mind when I first saw the Kiana knives.

Thank you for your kind words! I would love to listen to the conversations among my knives. 😂
Dope beats for the intro! And a good review, too.
Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

Beautiful & delicious as always, Stefan.
Thank you!
As always, lovely.
Thank you!
Interessantes Video, interessantes Messer. Vielen Dank!
Vielen Dank fürs Reinschauen! Vielleicht wäre das ja sogar etwas für euer Sortiment.
Great looking knives!!
Thanks 👍
Seems like a much nicer knife than the Dozier here in the US. No idea how I'd get a Kiana here though.
Thank you! I'm afraid you have to order it from Florinox directly.
Does anyone import these into the US? I would like to buy one, or two.
I'm afraid they are only available from France.
There's a french seller on ebay that will ship them to the US at a reasonable rate.

🙄
Si le ressort est lui aussi inoxydable , c'est un bon candidat pour le lave-vaisselle, je l'aime bien moi ce Kiana !
too much of an advert for this cheap knife
🙄
