Yes, but not quite as portrayed in this video. Solomon's actions in choosing the knowledge of good and evil recapitulated the fall, not redemption. Solomon sought and obtained power to rule his way over the people, rather than God's way over the animals.
Can I just say how much I appreciate seeing people of color represented in the graphics you use for the biblical characters. It’s refreshing and honestly much more accurate than what we are used to seeing.
It is sad that humanity ever thought the “mark of cain” was dark skin. 😢 I long for the day when skin, eye, and hair color are all treated as things of beauty and not as things to divide ourselves.

One of the more famous characters in the story of the Bible is a king named Solomon, known for his great wisdom. Three biblical books are associated with him: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Songs. The last of these three is filled with semi-erotic Hebrew love poetry, which throws many Bible readers for a loop. What’s up with Solomon and these three books? In order to better understand them, we need to think through his story. At the beginning of his reign, Solomon asks God for wisdom to discern between good and bad so that his rule would faithfully mirror God’s kingdom (see 1 Kings ch. 3). As a result, he turned Jerusalem into a mini-Eden, with the temple hosting God’s presence and every Israelite experiencing garden-abundance (1 Kings 4:25 and chs. 6-8). This positive portrait of Solomon culminates in the visit of the great Queen of Sheba, who praises the God of Israel after seeing Solomon’s wisdom for herself. Yet Solomon eventually forfeits God’s many gifts by turning toward the gods of money, sex, and political power, which leads to his downfall (1 Kings chs. 10-11). If you look carefully, you’ll see Solomon’s story is filled with hyperlinks back to the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. God also invests this couple with royal authority, which they forfeit in their quest for self-attained wisdom. The tree of knowing good and bad represents the choice before every human, including Solomon: How will I learn wisdom-by trusting and receiving it from God, or by taking it into my own hands to define as I desire? King Solomon’s rise and fall is a study in the human condition, and so are each of the wisdom books associated with his name. In Proverbs, we hear Solomon address the next generation, urging them to choose God’s wisdom that leads to life. In Ecclesiastes, Solomon becomes the mouthpiece of the entire line of David that ended up in Babylonian exile. The attempt to live by God’s wisdom is a good thing, but one should have realistic expectations, because life “under the sun” (that is, outside of Eden) is full of trouble and difficulty. In the Song of Songs, we hear the voice of the ideal son of David and his lover, who resembles Lady Wisdom from the book of Proverbs. This book is a rich and multi-layered poem, recalling both the story of Solomon and of Eden. So then, Solomon’s story is humanity’s story, and the books of Solomon give us wisdom and guidance as we hope for the new Eden and ultimate Son of David to bring God’s kingdom on earth as in heaven.

Bible Project, Thank you so much for your beautiful depiction of biblical characters/diverse character design and for all your countless hours of research, discussion, and creation. It means more to us than words can capture 💛🙏🏽
Do you actually think the people and world of the Bible was as diverse as ours, though? What evidence do we have to go on other than the genetic and archaeological, which points to it being an overwhelmingly, near-exclusively brown Semitic world? For the record, there are definitely some black people in Scripture, most prominently the Ethiopian eunuch, and the only white people would be the Romans. I notice no one who calls for diversity ever wants the depiction of East Asian people. 😕
Why do people have a problem with the FACT that most people are brown. Lighter skin is mostly due to colonialism and racism via Europe. Most indigenous people outside of cold Europe are brown to black skinned. Even indigenous people of America's, Australia and Asia. No one outside of Europe was snow white. People in hot climates baking in the sun were tanned, black and brown. Had there been NO people of color in this video nobody would be complaining. Y'all need to seek God about why seeing brown people stresses you out so much.....
Based on archeology and the bible these ppl were middle easterner caucasians, some with "white" skin, like in the case of King David and King Solomon. Both were described as WHITE/IVORY/RUDDY/ALABASTER

Ecclesiates was the first book of the Bible I read myself and I was amazed at its wisdom. Many years have passed and I've read it many times, but I've never seen these connections until I saw your video today. Thank you
Lady wisdom is BEAUTIFUL! Love her realistic and regal look ❤️🥰
It is written wisdom is our sister and knowledge is our kin☺
"realistic" hahahahaha.
Chris Anders It’s called Artistic realism, I fail to see how that’s funny.
@@שמעיִשראליהוהאלהינויהוהאחד Lol look harder you'll find it.
Chris Anders I don’t know, over 100+ people disagree so...
Beautiful and powerful. I’m praising God that He has graced me to learn such wisdom, insight, and great things through this channel. Thank you ! 🙏🏾😇Wow
Wow. Im speechless. May you continue to show Gods truth through your videos. All i can give are prayers. Love you all.
I love ❤️ wisdom portrayed universally as a woman and African in particular making the context of Solomon's writings historically more accurate and the artwork is beautiful. Great work!
The art gives me life ❤❤❤
So much diversity and the way you guys illustrate the stories and narrate is great . Love it !
Did you learn from the video? Or were you focused on the color of the people in this?
Brogadier The Third shut up with your judgment, it’s not the most important thing, it’s just refreshing for people of colour to see accurate representation of what happened in the past, growing up I saw the typical white Adam and Eve & even the Israelites and Egyptians. It made non-white kids like me feel like there’s something wrong with them
@@brogadierthethird7790 dont be stingy
I’m so happy to see melanin on your characters. Thank you for the most accurate portrayal I’ve seen to date.
The animation and the quality of this video absolutely blew my mind! Thank you!
I love you bible project may God continue to lift you world wide thank you God for you guys.
Bible Project,
Thank you so much for your beautiful depiction of biblical characters/diverse character design and for all your countless hours of research, discussion, and creation.
MICHAEL DUKES Actually most of the people in the Bible were dark skinned based on History, Time and Region. But that’s not the main focus.
@@brittneylamar9864 people in general live more indoors than out these days. Lack of sun.
Based on archeology and the bible these ppl were middle easterner caucasians, some with "white" skin, like in the case of King David and King Solomon. Both were described as WHITE/IVORY/RUDDY/ALABASTER
I came across a video of a guy putting down the Theology of the Bible project. Although this gentleman means well I have to agree that anytime someone's doing something right for God there are always going to be persecutors, you guys have definitely helped me understand so many biblical meanings and principles so I know that you were doing something amazing and I just wanted to be here to encourage you. You are such a blessing thank you
I have completed my Degree from a biblical school but I have never see the bible being explains in a more comprehensive manner. Well done just love your channel.
It means a lot to see a darker skinned woman and man depicted for Adam and Eve and some Israelites. Like that’s really cool. 🥺🥰
I guess it's easier to identify, but you will live pastor chris oyakhilome look him up on youtube
@Mark Horrell Jesus is wisdom. Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life. Their is no life apart from Jesus. Being born again is uniting with Him in one new man. Bible gateway see these concepts. One new man in Christ. Ps chris oyakhilome teaches you how to
☺️ love it 🤗
That's what u thought of after seeing this smh lady I need to wake up
Until u stop worrying about what color someone is and start seeing everyone as a human beings little girl I will stay lost
After a lot of thought and contemplation I've decided to no longer be a Christian but I just want to say I've enjoyed your channel a lot and I encourage you guys to keep doing what you're doing and enjoy life as always.
After even more thought about the bible I've changed my mind and decided to become a Christian Again. I look forward for the day when jesus christ the son of man returns and brings forth 1000 years of peace. Endless praise to Yawey the one true God and may he bless all his children trough the Holy Spirit. Further more my only desire is to repent for my sins and one day enter the kingdom of heaven. God bless every one in the comments and may the joy of God fill all our hearts Amen.
Amazing to see your transformation after only 1 month! Truly the Lord is mighty to save all those who seek Him! Lord bless my friend I hope Christ still resides with you now and forevermore!
I wish we could have the music to this video. It’s beautiful!
I'm an atheist studying the bible because it's so culturally relevant. I find religious dogma to be deeply toxic but there are kernels of spiritual truth in stories written in spiritual texts. These videos help me understand the stories. Thanks!
It’s so much easier to understanding the Bible in this channel and I appreciate your work.
I agree, the visualization makes it all the more lively and comprehensible.
Bible project blessed me🙌🙌 God bless you guys💃
I think this is the most beautiful video you guys ever made ... I love y'all and God bless yall with more wisdom so more videos like this can be made
I agree!
I also agree! I made a comment on how I even loved the sound effects and melody in the video
The artwork is truly beautiful! What a fitting rendition from the lush green gardens of old towards a modern day man sitting peacefully on a bench with a concrete jungle of modernity behind him
Thank you for the positive image of wisdom. As a woman of colour watching this is very affirming, God continue to bless your ministry
Elaine Hutchinson Yes 😌

Goodness Bible Project! This one was so beautifully done that I got teary-eyed at the end. I am amazed at how you can put so much information into such a short video. When I watch your videos I get the same feeling I get when I see a beautiful sunrise, or see a beautiful landscape, or hear a beautiful piece of music. It’s like I’m witnessing the Divine creativity at work. Thank you...just thank you for all you do, and for allowing God to work through you. It’s inspiring.
Grace and Peace ✌🏻

Thanks so much for all you guys do in communicating the Gospel Truth and the Grand Narrative of Scripture through beautiful imagery and illustration! Psalm 115:1
So good. The tree motif is so much more evident when viewed in a video. Also, the background music is absolutely beautiful.
Wow! So beautifully presented. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this.
