Minimalism definitely comes in handy when you're traveling! I never truly realized how many things I own that were serving me with no purpose until my recent SE Asia trip. As always, take care!
I borrowed a camera from a friend when I went to Iceland in 2017. It was super stressful and took up half the space in my carry-on with it's bags and accessories. I was already a light traveler, but that experience made me realize I do not want to travel with anything I would be afraid of losing. My last trip was in a 16L Kanken for two weeks in S. Korea, very freeing experience. Love your travel edits in this video :)
My co-workers always ask me how I get to travel for a week with only one backpack. Well, my choice of clothing materials are light and easy and no denim jeans. While they wait for their baggages, I'm already out the door.
One of my must haves when booking a hotel is free cancellation and no prepayment. I know people would say that they want the prepayment to feel that they did get a room, but I call beforehand and make sure to have the confirmation email with me when I arrive.
I'll be spending two weeks in Europe in the winter and am only bringing a backpack. I've learned to travel light in all situations. I really like this channel because the content is solid and not full of unneeded filler (true minimalist approach). I have found that I can carry enough clothing, toiletries and my camera, drone, laptop and more than what I need in one backpack that is under carryon size.
This is coming in handy right now so giving it a re watch, so new comment needed. I’ve ended up getting a bag pretty much like the one you have. Really valuable video again matey! 🎉
Hey mate, thanks for your video! Could you make one about lightweight travelling as a filmmaker? I find it quite difficult to decide what gear to bring even though I "only" possess a Sony a6500 with a couple of lenses and accessories and a Mini 3 Pro. Summed up it's still 2.5 to 3 kg and with a carry on policy of maximal 8 to 9 kg that's not doable anymore. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.
I use the same camera! So I bring that, it's 30mm Sigma lens, and 3 batteries. My tripod is cheap and small so it's hooked on the side of my backpack. Think about the gear you didn't use on your last trip and go from there 😄
@@NicholasGarofola Thank you so much for your answer! That's so cool you're using the a6500 too! I really love this camera for its size! I've got the 16mm and 56mm Sigma lenses and I love them both! Sadly the 16mm is kinda heavy and bulky compared to the camera... Probably I'm going for the 30mm or a Sony 35mm for portraits and street photography my next trip. Probably I'm also taking a zoom lens (Sigma 18 to 50 mm) because I'm also doing architecture. Thanks for the tip, I'll think about it! :D
Trip across the United States must have been great, how long did it take? Great idea with using a smaller bag, it forces you to pack less! I always end up bringing too much so will take these tips on board. Ended up once taking a couple of books and guess what, didn’t read them at all. 😂 Planning ahead is a great idea as it gives you something to aim for instead of “I think I’ll do that” when you get there, if that makes sense. Great video again mr g! 👊🏻
@@NicholasGarofola looks like it was fun though buddy! Will a video of it see the light of day in the future? And yeah thanks buddy! Just been getting over a cold and the weathers been all over the place here. Was snowing at the weekend. In spring! 😂❄️
I (and my family) always only bring a carry-on which sets a natural limit for how much we can bring. It’s great! 🧳 when going away for a weekend I always pack clothes that I can mix together if it’s a colder day then I’ll use all my items like a dress above jeans or several shirts etc.
On clothes that you will not use at home (heavy jacket), hit the thrift stores. After the trip, donate it or put in on Poshmark.
Good call!

100% agree, very annoying to have cumbersome luggage. Also, very jealous you’ve been to South Korea 😁

What I found useful on my trips out of the country was to buy my toiletries at my destination and replace my 5 lb 15 inch MacBook with an iPad.
Good call 😄
Totally agree...same thought and action

Glad you like them!
Starting with a smaller bag is where I start my packing as well. I let the bag influence what I take.
Wow perfect timing! I’m about to go to Mexico so this sure comes in handy. Thanks Nicolas!
Have fun!
Great seeing you upload.
I’m looking into getting the passport protector in the future. Cheers boy, cheers 👍🏻

Honestly, I'd prefer an underpacked, structured 40L than an overpacked, unstructured smaller bag.
Nice! Good useful ideas, thanks Nicholas!
Glad it was helpful!

I was interested until I saw that "M" on the t-shirt. I’d love to find a version of this for the XL+ crowd.
