Great video. I've been scratching my head over this one. I never realized the on/off lever threads off. That solved my problem. I have both the old and new style Orbit valves and was surprised at the difference. Glad to know there is an adapter for the DC latching valves!
FYI, at least for anybody else who found this, the Orbit part # for the timer + valve kit shown here is 57860 while the individual DC solenoid is 57861. The timer by itself is 57865
Were you saying you never had electricity in the valve box out there? Then how did you power the old A/C solenoids before replacing them with the new battery operated D/C ones?

Are there adapters for other brands like Rainbird or do they have the same sized threads?
Thanks for the video, super helpful. Does the 4 zone controller hook up to a 12v battery or something smaller that is internal to the controller?
The timer pulls straight up and runs off one 3 AAA batteries and says it will last 1 yr on those batteries
Anyone find the conversion adaptor? I can't find them anyplace online
Hey where can I find the Adapter for the new style solenoid, thanks!
You mentioned you'd post links to the parts. I can't find the links. Would you post those please - I'm needing to do this for my system this year.

What is the part number for the adapter?
Thank you, very helpful
