    Thank you Andy for being one of the only guitar players I know that can actually play bass!

    Thank you so much for doing a bass centric effects review! I've watching your vids for a long time and am a bassist myself, so it makes me very happy to see you broadening your review types. Keep up the amazing work!

    Thanks for the great demo. In addition to showing the features and range of the pedal it was great to hear a demo from someone who can actually PLAY BASS! So many demos are just people noodling. Thanks!

    beatiful pedal...with dry and wet knobs!
    From a subtle overdrive to crunchy, fuzzy. It is not "fizzy".
    For RATM to Metheny-like.

    Nice review. I saw the MXR advert for the pedal and liked the sound, but then all the tones on the other reviews I’ve watched have been too thin and bright. You’ve dialled in some tones that I might actually use!

    Nice, good to see some bass demo's every once in a while, especially because you're showcasing some pretty unique basses as well! The tones you displayed wouldn't be right for me, but you did keep the tone control above three o'clock for the whole demo, so that might leave me the wrong impression. I'm looking forward to the next one!

    • @calumnichols
      @calumnichols 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is an official review somewhere on here that actually turned me off of this pedal where the tone was only slightly engaged, so I'm quite glad this review was ramped up a bit! Anywho if you can find the other video it's worth checking out as it may prove this pedal can be a little more your style?

      @@germanperezbottesi4458 no i didn't end up going with this. Lol. I actually don't even have the Warwick anymore. After allot of trial and error... i ended up with the darkglass vintage deluxe. As well as the ehx Russian big muff reissue. My basses are Fender American Standard pbass. (Love it) and a Gibson Thunderbird.

    Great sound. I'm noticing you have the tone almost all the way to the right in this demo. Wonder what it would sound like with the knob turned the other way. It's a very dark-voiced pedal.

      If you want a plug and play distortion the m85 will do a good job. If you want to experiment with tons of settings the after shock is for you. I was able to achieve absolutely killer tones with it but there is a learning curve. That being said the stock setups are great already.

      Don't know if you're still around 7 years later, I just found this video while looking for reviews of the pedal, and saw your question.
      It's an Ibanez MC-924. I used to have a Studio version, the ST-924, and they are monsters.

  • @TyGerhardt

    Not bad but I think I'll stick with my Catalinbread Super Charged Overdrive on bass. Other than the "Mighty Mouse" mode on a Keeley modded RAT I have yet to find a distortion or fuzz I like better on bass.
    There was a Prescription Electronics Depth Charge I used to use that belonged to a friend of mine but when I bought one of my own it sounded completely different. I took it to my tech to see if he could mod it to make it sound the same but apparently my friend's had parts in it that were difficult or impossible to find. : (

    What's the difference between the dry and wet options in terms of sound and tone?

    • @camerong6817
      @camerong6817 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The "dry" is the signal that is coming from your bass, while the "wet" is the distorted signal from the pedal. The knobs themselves don't change the tone or anything like that, just the levels of the dry and wet signals.

      Ive stacked this going into a vintage ultra and it sounds great, having about a quarter gain on each and the led mode sounds super snarly and grindy.
