everybody gangsta till the ghost makes creaky door noises
Sounds more like its rubbing its ghost hands on furniture covered in plastic wrap.
door: *SILENT AND NEVER OPENS*
The ghost: “Crrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaak…EAK”
That ghost fart
I’m ngl, it creeped tf outta me at first
lol squeaky door noises now has a significantly traumatic impact
the real madness is to see how badly those cars are parked
Well japanese are still asian.
Asian driver no survivor
@@Trisherboops lmfao

This ghost scream is exact sound of a squeaky cheap 90s Chevy door.
This is why I can’t take the game seriously
Open the door
Get on the floor
Watch out for that dinosaur
A lot of japanese devs have PTSD from their time walking home in highschool, lol.
It REALLY seems like that doesn't it?
Is it really that scary walking home alone in Japan?
@@zestytriss5282 Probably not, considering using public transport and walking is the norm there.
@@zestytriss5282 for me it was scary. I attended a Japanese high school. After club it was always dark and my home was near a really small train station. It were only around 700 meters that I had to walk but I had to choose between to ways. One way is through small alleys without street lightening and the other one was through a bigger street with street lightening but I had to pass a park, an old shrine, a school and a graveyard. Basically all horror movie locations possible. On both ways I was completely alone, there weren’t even cars. Sometimes I had to walk this route at 4 am.
So it was scary but nothing happened since it’s save in Japan.
i walked from a station to my hotel in Osaka at night, street was actually so empty hardly see anyone else, some part didnt even have light on
Expert analysis: it can be unnerving when people make the sounds of a rusty door hinge
Expert hypothesis: the girl has doorophobia and is hallucinating a door monster.
The exagerated swagger of a japanese long elbowed teen.

Expert advice: dont do drugs.
Sounded more like a person rubbing their hands on an overinflated balloon to me, but yeah rather disconcerting to say the least...also ow my earballs

literally life or death situation.
She: my bike is damaged. So I'll just walk.
Ethics too stronk. Stealing is wrong no matter what.
I was giving this some thought and:
1. It was the Yokai/Creature that caused that injury and everything that happened was real
2. She did it to herself and the events were a
figment of her suicidal mind. The ghosts we saw along the way were possibly her own thoughts and the creature could be her depression/the demons that the girl has to face (figuratively). Its also possible it was a illusion type thing caused by the loss of blood making her fall asleep and have a terrible nightmare of her haunting past.
It is just a game and I don’t know why I’m giving it so much thought.

Everyone is talking about how the Yokai makes a creaking door sound, I would say that it sounds like an aggressively rubbed balloon.
When you panic you got that adrenaline pumping that's why you run faster than the ghost
Then why am I always tripping when ghost chase me on my dreams
@@DuyKhaSW nonsense >:(
@@DuyKhaSW My head cannon is that there is the opposite of adrenaline, which I call lessenaline, that makes you slow as shit or trip endlessly as soon as you see danger because your body is either a dumbass or actually want you to die instead of keeping you alive, but is exclusive to your dreams

I think the ghost's cracking/creaking noises are actually the sound of cutter knife she uses to cut herself, when you slide the blade in/out
Is that what it really sounds like?
@@cntpd1638 no
It sounds more like someone doing a bad job using the wiper to clean up the car windows, lol.
@@tkraid2575 I think they mean the ''cracking'' noise that you hear every so often, it does sound like a cutter knife I work with them alot.
Honestly games where the monster bumrushes you are more startling than scary. And startling gets boring pretty fast.
The difference is that startling is tolerable while fear is when you don't even want to be in the same room as your system because now you're afraid that its haunted/cursed.
*“Yea! In Japan, we park our cars just like that, in between the lane openings and boundaries so that you can barely walk!”* she said.
Hey, as long as it makes a barrier between me and that creepy ass thing I'm ok with it.
She was in the otherworld
I can't believe I'm terrified of the door-sound-like ghost. Its really scary if I heard that sound in the middle of the night.
I really like these types of games (:
Love em
(:
It appears, we have the same tasteful likes for this type of games.

What's up with Japanese Yokai often specializing in kicking people when they're down?
"Oh you're being bullied at school, abused at home and the guy you liked just called you ugly? Just how I like 'em!"
The dickheads of the monster world! :P
Acording to yokai lore many of them are created or feed on negative emotions
O
Chillas art games are usually simple, yet interesting and enjoyable to watch. This one just felt like a quickly thrown-together mess.. too bad tbh
My man made 7 maps, 2 of which were big open ones. As a game designer myself, your comment is repulsive.
@@yueshijoorya601 And that means you can just release something that feels rushed because it was hard work?
No it doesnt. I appreciate the work they put in but this is way below the other games standard
@@SirNikurasu Uhmm I was under the impression that Chilla's games are free?

I've really enjoyed seeing these Chilla's Art games evolve and improve with each one, really excited to see what's to come down the line
I found this channel about two weeks ago and I'm addicted. I love horror games (but don't get to play that much) and the way you play them is so soothing to me that I just love watching. Please make more!
Gotta get some snacks because ABG just uploaded a video playing a game from Chilla's art ❤
Ah wait me too
It's amazing how scary something as simple as the sounds of dragging your fingers on a balloon can be.

Haha, that game was a pure masterpiece
This is how you do it in Mother/Earthbound as well
It's neither the first nor the last game to use phones for saving.
This was a feature in Parasite Eve.
You should oil your yokai more often if they squeak like that! That's maddening!
Ok, hear me out, this game BUT with 散歩 (Walk)'s aesthetics.

Huh. Watching made me realize this me the first time where I've seen one of these numerous Japanese horror games explicitly mention "harae", which is weird to realize given quite a few--the majority?--of them have also used elements of Shintoism.
Also geez at that "mom doesn't like me much" bit said so casually at the beginning. I am surprised to this ended as well as it did, especially given the one with the raven man and the one with the tunnel.
If nothing else, what this game gets right is the speed at which you run away. Seeing the person in danger casually walk away with a blank expression makes stop caring about what happens, and even worse it's VERY common in horror games.
If this was IRL and I was there, I'd instantly froze in fear or die of a heart attack at the first encounter. 😂
Cool concept, but the sound design could use some work... The yokai squeak sound looping like that is really immersion-breaking. Needs a longer sound that fades in and out without always starting at the beginning when it's retriggered. And what... A squeaking balloon... It's not scary to me. Maybe with some effects on it to make it sound more otherworldly it could work. And the horror elements don't seem to be given enough time on-screen for it to be effective. The arm grab thing, it cuts before you really get a chance to be creeped out by the hand.
Edit: everything else is really cool though... The ending with captioned still images was really effective.
6:46 *thanks! now my phone is broken*
this reminds me of the time i visited Japan!

She should’ve offered that ghost some Centrum Forte for their poor joints :(
babe wake up, chilla art made a new game
I have so many questions from both a gameplay/narrative standpoint.
In terms of gameplay, does the red bar fill up when you're spotted by the monster, or is it based on how loud you walk? Is the monster a representation of her suicidal urges? Is it all a psychological horror? I must know!
I think the panic meter fills up when you stay too long in the dark, that's why you have to go under the post lights so they won't fill up
@@Mizuki-san I thought it was a sprinting bar
The monster is a Takka onna, basically an unattractive person who were so jealous they could never experience intercourse they became a Yokai that can elongate their body
It attacked the schoolgirl because she probably had a boyfriend and was so jealous she didn't have one.
I hope this makes sense to you.

The most interesting horror games are the ones that have hallucinations.
@@Silver_Sonic_23 is that what you think?
I feel the game is about a girl who tried to commit suicide and the way home is a metaphor.
@@HunkyMattel I can definitely see a similarity with GOHOME. Both protags struggle with depression and their journey home is to overcome the guilt & find inner peace..

I did that for one of Dunkey's among us videos. XD

When ISN'T someone/thing stalking a Japanese school girl?
Overall this game is pretty creepy and I like its vibe, but the sound this monster is making is cracking me up. Really waiting for more from this author though
This, but it's *Anger Foot*
That's a game I want to see. Where the Schoolgirl has had _enough_
(Also the "Chief" coffee machines are a nice touch!)
I haven’t been scared for a long time. This is a good game.
My gurl just peacefully walked out of a stall just to experience this
The lighting mechanics in this game are amazing 👌
Somehow it's more unnerving when she chases you in the city than in the subway. I think it's because you can at least outrun her in there, but you also aren't seeing how close she was to raking you like in the city. Like you can hear the fast footsteps, then see her home in on you, then you pull out the harae, and she's RIGHT in front of you before she disappears, it's like seeing how close to death you were and how fast she moves is probably the most unnerving part.
I'm still trying to understand the red meter up top, I made the guess it's her "fear" meter, because the bar flashes when she is being chased and it says "panic." Does it also act as an indicator of how close the yokai is to you?
I think when you stay too long in the dark the bar fills up?
@@kylieairy7075 Ill have to watch the video again and see if that's what happens, it sounds like it makes sense cause monsters or spirits do seem to wait for you to go to places that aren't bright in order to strike
At first i actually thought it was some kind of energy bar. Like in games, when you sprint theres a bar showing how much stamina you have. But yours actually makes sense, im guessing it shows how close the monster is till it detects you?
Exquisite voice acting I must say
She really went:🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪

But from what I understand, based on the the last scene with her mother. This might abit cruel and sad. I guess the little girl suffer ill treatment on daily basis from her mother. She was dreaming and at first scene with the little girl in the restroom, that was herself shouldering the burdens, and the evil spirit was her mom all along
I am not sure, since I kept skipping to the ghost chasing part lol
THis was pretty cool.
Damn i just cried when her mom was treating her wound
they always give u a flashlight 🥰
I will watch tonight. Chillllll
I'm glad she made it home
9:10 - ghost: "my mom bought me a stuff animal for my birthday. i sleep with it everyday"
me: bish....ok? this is not the time. where's my bike!?
this had a pretty cool ambiance. I appreciate the kinds of feelings these kinds of projects bring.
as a sound guy, I'd say the sound effect choices for the ghosts are cool, but could maybe benefit from some variation. its memorable but in a annoying way. its actually better later when there is no sfx just the footsteps.
The Best of the Game.... The Credits !! xD
This would be a fun game for watch but not for playing by myself lol
This game has everything that japanese horror games had in the 90s and early 2000s.
Clock Tower, Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, the list goes on. There's nothing I miss more than that time period.

Something about how fast the schoolgirl moves makes me think the movement belongs in a 3rd person shooter. Like it's movement that belongs in a game where you run from cover to cover and jump over alien plasma blasts.
