That said, i'm intrigued. Owls are inherently haunting and mystifying creatures, very unnerving and yet alluring. Perfect choice for an antagonist in something like this
Bro I live near a Forrest and the noise those fucks make you’d think they are deaf Edit: seriously it’s insane, we used to have a load of bats but I think the owls ate them, now we’ve got owls, eventually I predict we’re getting an insect problem as the insects feast on the owls, then it’d be bats and foxes, then foxes and owls, then foxes and insects. It’s nice to look out the window and sometimes hear the screeches of owls or the chittering of bats, and when the foxes are in heat you’ve got to have some kind of noise to drown out the sound.

In a technical sense he does. He has to realize that he is becoming the owl if he stays there longer than a couple hours so he knows he will become the owl the person he is leaving the knife for is going to kill. He is leaving his own murder weapon for the next assailant.
It makes sense when the owl is muttering about "It won't work" because the owl was the former victim and they knew the consequences. Human makes mistake all the time. Sometimes, even repeating them like a cycle that never ends. But slowly but surely, that cycle will break and form an improved version of ourselves. The owl represents wisdom and through wisdom we fixed our mentality to believe that once a cycle starts, it never ends. But in the end, experience can overcome also enhancing our wisdom. Which is the owl itself. Btw thx for the likes haha ✨
Yes, that is exactly how to kill an addiction, kill it where is stands. It's better to stop it right away before it even happens. That's why killing the owl-man immediately was the only solution to the problem, to stop a cycle that "never-ends". Being aware of an addiction that's developing then stopping it immediately before it starts to corrupt you is a wise decision. Letting it inside and influence you with the notion that "I can take this, it's only for a little bit, I won't get too attached nor addicted to it" means it's already too late. It's like pulling the pin off of a grenade then seeing if it'll explode before throwing it away.
Live in someone's basement long enough, untill one day wake up and realise you have become the exact monster under who's roof you dreadfully lived all those years.. 🍷
Hmm... The end, when they all stares at the player changes everything. The really monster is you, the player. You montains this loop of Death and Dinner by playing the game... you listen they talking and lurks in the shadows. You are the Owl-Man

When I was younger I use to watch this show with an owl man that worked in an office he “gave people tips”, in reality he was lazy and slept all the time lol so when his patients talked about their problems he would fall asleep halfway through the story. So his patients would always solve their own problems without relishing it so they would thank him for nothing lol I just felt like telling you this cause the whole owl in office thing just reminded me of it thanks for your time
im so glad i got this recommended. i dont make long comments often but i gotta get this out of my chest. as an artist im impressed of how charming the style is... the warm colors fit the atmosphere so well, the drawings are well detailed, and the animation is simple enough. its overall really pleasant to look at, and to hear too! especially the ambience music, that bass is strangely mysterious and soothing, and those wind chimes??? are relaxing af, it really helps to build fear and thrill after they're no longer heard, and replaced with darker sounds. The voice actors made an incredible job as well. The story gets more and more interesting, the dialogs are short and consistent, this is just precious. congrats to the whole team for making such a good game.
I highly suspect the contract highly has to do with the transformation of the MC. In the last part he didn’t give the contract to him, he just killed him, while the previous trials, he gave the contract and turned into the owl.
As someone with a long-standing phobia of owls this is definitely the perfect horror game for me. Owls actually stand as heralds of death in some mythologies, so it made for an interesting choice! Overall the game looks to have the charms of many old era Playstation 1 games, which are typically the eras of games that I find to be "true horror" or horror that doesn't rely exclusively on a fear of a jumpscare, and even ignoring my phobia this definitely incited a feeling of true horror within me in the first few minutes.

Beautifully said 🦋💖✨
I'm really dumb so I didn't get much.. aah
Best comment ever.
Oh! I will remember this! 😯✨
I really like the last detail of the game : "and never look back!" while all the characters look back, at the player.
Well, I gotta say, that oddly pleasant, but ominous song number threw me for a fucking loop.
exactly omfg

It seems the Owl possesses the one that 'kills' it, so the old (dead) host body would remain. Is Declan cooking dinner from these bodyparts?

Oh my god I love the voice acting and the way things are drawn and animated really mess with your head.

This has some serious Courage The Cowardly Dog Vibes, which is a good thing. But that song was such a vibe killer.
Really hope the dev continues with this owl character and makes a game that is less repetitive. This has serious potential.
it does indeed have courage vibes i didn’t notice that until you pointed it out. shame they didn’t this premise to its full potential.
Wahahaha the song was so unnecessary
I thought i was the only one.I love courage so this definitely bought back some childhood memories.Mr Brown voice also reminds me of the anatagonist Courage the Cowardly Dog.
I honestly found the song to be unsettling and a little pretty but I was completely caught off guard by it I was not expecting it total courage vibes I loved that show as a kid
Cut the song, expand the house
I was expecting Mr. Owl to come out and violently show the player how many licks it takes to get to the center of the Tootsie Pop.
I guess the world will still never know.

I've found this video by accident and I got invested in the story just after a minute or two. I rarely care about the story in video games, but this one is really good.
Declan falls at 12:51 because the owl sings "sip of the water" Declan is SO THIRSTY
that is such a good catch!!
I see that the integration of monsters into normal society is going well.
Thank Smith.

this entire game feels like one of those familiar backrooms/liminal spaces…. and a night terror. the way dude was interrupted when he wanted to ask why he was an owl. i’ve had people interject that way while lucid dreaming. quite bizarre. i know i’m rambling but this…made me feel things-benign, nostalgic, and uncanny energies.
Lucid dreaming?
@@hellknight6440 I know the meaning but I don't understand in what reference the original comment uses it “ I've had people interject that way while lucid dreaming ” English is not my first language

The voice acting in this game was spot on. I've heard worse voices in triple A, million-dollar-budget games.
Owl-man: _sings a whole damn agonizing ominous song_
Mr.Riley : "alright, Imma pretend I didn't see that"
When I was younger I use to watch this show with an owl man that worked in an office he “gave people tips”, in reality he was lazy and slept all the time lol so when his patients talked about their problems he would fall asleep halfway through the story.

Well, what I learned from this game is Owl Man is one hell of a good singer!!! Maybe he shouldn't be a business man but a professional singer XD
I highly suspect the contract highly has to do with the transformation of the MC. In the last part he didn’t give the contract to him, he just killed him, while the previous trials, he gave the contract and turned into the owl.
I wish we had the option to applaud Mr. Webb for that song
Owls are also seen as bad omens in indigenous cultures as well (particularly Diné)
Wow, the music and voice acting in this new version are awesome! Especially love the owl's voice!
Agreed!
