Listening to Alfie, the piano is completly under Bill's control. Dynamics, pedalling, voicings. Eddie and Marty intently listening, adding to the performance. Just sensational really.

It's interesting that this was filmed at the home of Ilkka Taneli Kuusisto who was a composer of popular opera. Quite removed from the jazz of Bill's music. It might explain the high recording quality and the piano being tuned to perfection. Absolutely awesome!!!!

Whenever I listen to Bill, I either have tears in my eyes or a smile on my face...or sometimes, I have BOTH!!! Listen to the tune "Emily," and.to his voicings and approach to that piece..Bill seems to be ice skating on his keyboard! He puts me into orbit on "Alfie" also. Magnificent.

I’m brand new to jazz but Bill Evans has me in the palm of his hand. I was a fool for many years and assumed jazz simply wasn’t for me despite the forays into Charley Christian, Wes Montgomery or Joe Pass as any self-respecting guitarist may but I found so much of it to be self indulgent meandering. Bill Evans has such a taste for melody and theme, though, where his reaching out is more explorative than it is indulgent. This period of jazz that is faithful to a tune yet open to exploration… boy, howdy, it’s got me all twisted up.

Padroni meravigliosi si...ma tutto questo discorso di cose superflue e richiami evidenti....allora no sbaglio pensare che comunque a modo suo un freddo distaccato altezzoso con pizzico di disprezzo....ricordando che sua ultima compagnia no ne una santa ...che vive di ricordi di loro storia a fin oggi...pessima scelta e abbastanza banale, declino "automeritato"di un uomo tanto "sopra"di altri....

Brother the seed of Jacob is all over Europe. Your judgment is not rooted in the love of Christ. Repent of your self righteousness. The Celts have the bloodline through the Phoenicians. The Mediterraneans intermingled with the seed of Jacob since before Maccabees and well into the Book of Acts. Then another wave came into Europe in 70 AD after Judah was enslaved by the Romans and brought into Italy where they mixed into the population. That’s a shame you see things as black vs white and judge these matters as if you’re better than the gentiles. “Mine inheritance is unto me as a speckled bird.” Christ Himself was mixed with Moabite DNA remember the Book of Ruth? When you stand before Yah and He judges you for this comment do you think He will be pleased?

Systematic dumbing down. Look at the diminishing dictionary used in American education. The lowering of pass standards rather than addressing unsuccessful teaching practices. Not teaching phonics is a huge issue also. In New Zealand where I was educated, we were taught how to reduce an unknown word to syllables. Then an educated estimate can be made on the pronunciation of an unknown word. I'm continually perplexed at the inabilities of american youtubers to pronounce words they're unfamiliar with. Many treat words like pictures, and approximate what they say with a memory of a visually similar word. To me it's bizarre and frustrating, and somewhat tragic. Completely avoidable and contrary to the potential of the U.S.A.
