As you know Billy from my previous comments, I work with addicted people and homeless and one of the biggest problems with the homeless is, we get them into rehab, we get them off the drugs or the alcohol, then when they leave rehab because they are homeless we stick them in emergency accommodation that is full of addicts, and alcoholics, no wonder they go back to there old ways, this situation helps no one and local councils need to address this urgently

You're absolutely spot on. They pretend they represent the people of Scotland but are more interested in globalism rather than community cohesion and modest prosperity for all.
I hate the SNP but Scotland has had problems long before they got their feet under the rug and this will continue due to globalism and UN replacement migration which is the reason for the state of the NHS, social housing, education and employment and it's all being done on purpose by Westminster, of course the NHS in Scotland is a devolved matter but mass uncontrolled legal and illegal immigration is the fault of Westminster by letting in all these newcomers to overload the system. 🏴 🇬🇧
When I was a boy in Gorbals the unfortunate on the streets used to mix belair hairspray with Elderado or Buckie. That was decades ago. Today it's a different choice of poison. The causes run deep. Feel free to snipe at SNP. I'd point you in the direction of the structural inequality of UK that sees fit to allow a 30 yr old man to hold £10 Billion in the bank, own half of London, and live on a 11,500 acre estate. Then take a wee look at the private, gated streets of London such as St Helen's place. After you've done that ponder a cabinet of multi-millionaires passing laws that cut welfare benefits and remove tenant rights as most of them are landlords. Then maybe ponder how we got an unelected PM who's richer than your King but has overseen his father-in-law company secure govt contracts worth millions since 2020. Sure, SNP have made mistakes. But they have one arm tied up their back and have to work with the crumbs dropped from the UK table. Did the Labour branch office bring in free Higher Education, free prescriptions, mitigate bedroom tax, introduction of child payments, babyboxes for all?
Those high rises are literally a 10 min walk from million pound houses. Shows you how much the postcode lottery can make all the difference. St George's Cross isn't really classed as Maryhill it's really its own area.
Good content, the guy at the end hes cooked difficult for him to return to a normal life, although I have seen people like him turn it around somehow. That’s peoples life’s and I’m in Glasgow and it saddens me we seem to have forgot to look after our own. It’s probably early morning and he’s out his face. You go abroad and you notice something is missing, you can’t place it then you realise the place is clean and tidy and seems safe and people don’t drop litter or wreck things for the sake of it and take pride in where they live. Obviously people have problems and go down the spiral, good luck to these guys it can happen to anyone.

Just a thought. I know it's important to highlight real life struggles that individuals go through, and hearing voices straight from the street is invaluable for us to learn. Is it possible to also find and show videos of the Supporting Groups in the places you visit? Show viewers and people you meet a link for help, if they decide to follow it up, and to show a glimmer of light to those in the areas to go to, and more importantly to shout out the groups in these communities who do give positive opportunities and make a difference in people's lives. TYIA
Was thinking the same, I know the first boy he was talking to, grew up with him. Only difference is, I started taking heroin when I was 14. I lived in Ruchill when it was a dump and now it's all done up the only place I could get a house was in drumchapel which is still a dump and after seeing some of these videos about Glasgow I just feel more fucking suicidal than ever. I have an addiction to diazepam and I keep getting told that I should never try get off them myself because it could be fatal. I've been asking for help with getting me into some detox program but they just tell you there's nothing out there. I would love to see some information about getting help with addiction, homelessness and mental health. We need some hope, I feel like what is happening is a form of extermination, they know people with any of these problems will never survive and they will just die out. The government should be held responsible for the neglect of the city, the city that played a massive part in the industrial revolution and ship building, true hard working people but the city got neglected and the jobs weren't available so people had to claim benifits then politicians use that as a stick to beat them with.
Beeing from dundee, scotland, im a regular visitor to glasgow. Especially barlinnie prison lol. Glasgows like everywhere, there's good and bad. If your streetwise you ll survive..

Those high flats around 8:20 are in the Wyndford scheme in Maryhil. Glasgow Housing Association, now called The Wheatley Group has plans to demolish them and a community centre, taking 900 low rent flats off the market and replace them with 400 mid market rental properties. A campaign group fought to stop the demolition and save the more affordable flats. Now the crazy part. The campaign group was infiltrated by trans activists from outside the community who removed members trying to stop the demolition and used threats of violence and accusations of transphobia against anyone who disagreed with them. Luckily the expelled members formed their own group and with the community onside have managed to delay the demolition.

This problem has been in existence for years. I use to do sales calls in Possil in the early 90s. It was like a war zone.
Woodside is it no?
No sure if Garscube Rd. counts as Maryhill either.
Respect Billy 👌
On the door sizes, replaced 4 internal n fired a composite on the front in an old red sand stone, done me about 6bags
Good content, the guy at the end hes cooked difficult for him to return to a normal life, although I have seen people like him turn it around somehow. The girl is still young and has plenty of chamce to turn it around and lead a good life but depends how much she wants it, first of all she needs to surround herself by people who are going to encourage here to change. Good luck to them both
wow billy you are covering ground......i mentioned in your possilark vid my dad lived in allander street......but he was born on henderson street in maryhill......whats next ruchill? great videos. toronto

Being brought up ( dragged up) in Stepney East London and now living in the chilterns in Buckinghamshire I have seen both side of the coin.I have a open mind about these people, and never try to judge them.Everyone has a back story, and our life’s can be changed for better or worse in seconds.I hope they navigate their way in a positive way .
Legend bill. Hope you paid your old 20 year plus pal George a visit when bk down here. ! Great content. Think you would do great numbers doing live audience in Glasgow. People can relate to you bill. 🙏
What hes saying about entering other schemes back in the day is spot on.
Was there on Friday right at that canal 😂
Billy you should do video just purely based on central west scotland. Coatbridge and Airdrie in particular are two of the most deprived areas in the the u.k nevermind scotland.
I once worked with the German man his name is thorston he was a man of many stories about his time in the military overseas was a very fit and physical man back in 2009 -10 has fallen into the wrong crowds it’s sad to see how he looking nowadays .
Well in to the north face dude

this is my home town bro back in the day it was like something from the cult classic movie the warriors lots of youth gangs in this area alone the VYT YRB YPF CYT and the list goes on
Just a thought.
The government should be held responsible for the neglect of the city, the city that played a massive part in the industrial revolution and ship building, true hard working people but the city got neglected and the jobs weren't available so people had to claim benifits then politicians use that as a stick to beat them with.
were i was born and look windford made me cry

Schools that I went to are all but gone. St Gregorys, Ruchill Primary and Shakespeare Primary.
Went to st Gregory's myself but I lived in Ruchill. Went to NK secondary school. All gone now.
@@jamesyboy4626I was a baby while in Wyndford Barracks, then I lived in Smeaton St/ then Mayfield. I went to JPA not for long. I am down South now.
@@patsyballantyne9886 haha I went to John Paul Academy too for a short while but because of the Ruchill, Valley thing I had to move to NK. What age are you, you may know my sister who is older than me. You must know my Aunt and uncle, Ellen and John or Betty Macloud? They lived in Mayfield st, still do actually.
Maryhill is possibly the biggest borough in Glasgow it’s a massive area.
If Maryhill was a town in it's own right, it would probably be in the top 10 largest in Scotland.
Breaks my heart to think these folks have disappeared off the radar of Humanity. As with every place all over the country.
Any links to this. Identify politics sucks dildo big time.
Just from the way that guy walked, you could tell he was a bit mental 🤣
