Betray option can only appear if the NPC are only two and trusted with each other. If you have 4 syndicate members you can execute 3 of them assuming the last two don't want to betray each other
I tried this on a whim last week, and got 4 veiled orbs on my first 5 runs, and I was like "WHY ISN'T EVERYBODY DOING THIS??" Then I did another 7 runs and got nothing but trash. :) Edit: forking river is a really good layout for this. Very linear so you can just run past the mobs until you hit the betrayal missions, no back tracking or running in circles.
few tips * You can pair it with any other mechanic, because you don't really need scarabs for syndicate. Yes it makes faster gathering mastermind int, but not mandatory. And it becomes really boring to do those runs again and again. So if it be a little slower - it totally ok. So you can use all scarab slots on other mechanic. * Patch your loot filter to show only sellable veiled items - Elreon, Korell, Gravicius, Vagan. Yes, they cost around 5c, but it at least something. Because sometimes you will get nothing from catarina even if farming syndicate for a few days. I decided to match syndicate up with essences, i just wanna know if there is any problem running syndicate in tier 6 maps, just so i can survive doing essences on bosses (forgot the atlas notable that provides this)

I've been doing Syndicate with my Maven witness Elder/Syth/Guardian/Conquer map drops with Wisps set up. Not overly good at making currency, but it's really fun, which to me is the most important thing. I do hope they re-work Betrayal again, they really gutted it this league. It was one of my favorite mechanics in the game, and I always did it at the start of each league to get the unveils.
for real i dont understand why they removed hillock quality and aisling veiled craft. I would have such a bonkers weapon this league if we still could.

In theory this was a buff, in practice it just made the process go from 4 Div to nearly 7-9+ Div, though there is no more risk of someone stealing your item. Quality from Hillock was removed because I believe they knew the change to quality was going to happen. As a more multiple quality is much more powerful, thus more sought after. Especially now how rare 20%+ Quality is. Mark said in the recent league reveal with ZiggyD they will be prioritizing Betrayal re-work next league. As there is nearly no reason to manipulate safe houses with the NPC's outside of a few, it's just a "rush Catarina and pray for a Veiled Orb" system now.
did betrayal and rogues on league start scenario. Mainly farming for uniq enemies with reliq scarab of overlords. I think i do the same thing next league but add more betrayal scarabs on mix to get catarina faster. Beasts maybe better but i like low tier map uniq farming. 😃
Also I’ve been finding a lot of rings or amulets with half decent suffix and a viel prefix and I’ve honestly just been crafting mana and posting them for 10 c since viel orbs are so expensive I’ve had a lot of interest in them for ppl who are making new builds lol
Hello, nice video overall good infos, but there's some basics thats aren't apply nor talked about in there. 1- Your Gravicius was never even in transport and by talking to him last twice, you never got the chance to send him there. 2- In any encounter, the last member you will talk to never offer you to rank up. You should always talk first to members that are rank 0 or 1 to give them +2 ranks. (Like 14:55, you should have spoke with Haku first to make him rank 3 then prob interrogate Leo). 3- It might be worth it to NOT run transport safehouse if you're close to a Cat proc so you keep Grav rank 3. (Depend how close you are from another safehouse to be ready and how you value Cat runs / Grav chests). 4- You can proc a Catarina with 1x safehouse rank 3 and 2x safehouse rank 2. So sometimes you should delay a bit of intel with a safehouse to not proc it. Then encounter the leader of that safehouse in a map, rank him up to 3, then you proc that safehouse which will grant you +16 intel with mastermind per turn instead of +10.
Dunes are 50-1 div so I buy 100 at a time for 2 c per map, no alch no chisel , the scarabs I just use the extra reinforcement and I force Jun on the map so with 2. C per map and 2 c per map for the scarabs that’s 4 div per 100 maps and you do a safe house every two or three maps with a mastermind every 5-6 so let’s say on average you pay 4 div for around 20 mastermind missions so with that set up you would have to run over 400 maps before you don’t break even on the drop of one veil orb, obviously the stuff you find in the map as long as you pick up 4 chaos per map you will recoup the expenses 😅 like it’s so free I had to do the math and it still sounds super free LMAO
this is my very first league and I found this method super enjoyable in the late game because I didnt have to bother figuring out prices for things. I could just rush catarina and hope i get the 30% roll. on good days i found like 3-4 veiled orbs in an hour or so.
This is my 2nd league, I stuck with it and farmed 60+ Catarinas. I now own a Mageblood, 3 Headhunters and a bunch of other stuff. I recommend for those who don't mind it.
I did betrayal at the first of the league was pretty horrible outside of getting my crafts. Found zero helms and 2 veiled orbs in 30+ kills doing it from early whites to late reds.
I've been running this and harvest and having a great time. Also, don't bother with the nodes "Bribery" and "Pillage and Plunder". Bribery just gives more a few more scarabs and maps when they offer items and Pillage and Plunder makes them stronger for a small rarity boost. It's such a chill farming method and as you saw, Cat is a lotto but so are the chests. It's also a good way to level up gems as Tora in research can give 200 million xp to one at 3 stars.
really sad that betrayal went from an interesting mechanic with lots of convenient/important crafts and one of the best ways to get ultra valuable scarabs to a farm for one specific currency with a 30% drop on the end boss.
30% is way too generous. Id say 25% is fair. I was confused on betrayal forever until I realized that when you spec into it just killing the map bosses now you gain intelligence for Catarina so it kinda solves itself no matter what choices you choose you can't really mess it up. You can definitely speed it up by choosing good options but that changed my entire outlook on Betrayal now. Scarabs good!
Yeah its tough to say veiled orbs I think regardless are too rare. I miss having access to using them all the time. Hopefully GGG makes some changes and it goes back to how it was or they split the orbs in two. But overall betrayal got easier and faster so thats a win?
I got 7 veiled orbs out of 11 katarinas I have defeated. Also, got my very first scarab of curation from one of the syndicate chest after defeating the boss. I can't complain, it was a good currency, but it's not consistent. Overall I like it. I plan on farming more syndicate, also for the sake of achievement.
I prefer 100% Niko chance for the move speed from the Niko notable passive. I don’t have mageblood yet on my hexblast trickster so the move speed is really nice.
@@Travic_ if you already have a ton of movement speed your method is probably higher profit per hour. I did beast farming for about a week earlier in the league and I hated it. With hexblast it was almost impossible to selectively kill the valuable beast, so my bestiary filled up pretty rapidly and I’d have to spend time in the menagerie burning up yellow and worthless red beasts. I think Alva would be a great compliment for betrayal.

Betrayal requires a witness for someone to rank up. If you want to rank someone up, then do their interrogation before the others in that group. This is why the extra reinforcement chance is such a useful scarab
Can sm1 explain to me whats the fastest way to gain a lot of intelligence to get to the fight , cause ive been pressing almost always interogating unless theres the execute option to rank up .

@@Travic_ I have tested few times (not enough though, I am not full time gamer) and I have a feeling that when I run T16 maps to get to Catarina, she is a bit harder and has better drops, but I am not sure, it can still be just rng. Is it possible, that even though location level in top right corner is always 83, there can be difference? Has anybody tested this in a bigger scope? Is there anything I am missing? (I am still kind of new to the game, there's still a lot of things I don't know..)
2 nodes on the tree are not needed if you don't need anymore gear to unveil - Bribery and Betrayal Veiled item chance all they do is give more gear to unveil. Edit: Yellow beast are 2div for 60
Yeah yellow beast are always really expensive and everytime i tell people to pull them out I get yelled at xD. I am a big beast enjoyer but I will let people make up their own mind on if they should of shouldnt pull them out. Also thank you for pointing out about Bribery and Betryal Veiled, I still needed items and didnt even think about unspeccing them when I Was done
I think Catarina have near zero chance to drop orb in white and yellow maps. I run around 8 such maps and get zero orbs. So if you want orb, you need to run t15+ maps

30% is what I have been told constantly by a variety of trusted sources. RNG is RNG though and 30% isnt a great number to begin with hence the price point
Yeah I have had a few people tell me , some like full cards, some like just divination scarabs. All of the approaches seem valid! Thank you for pointing this out!
@Travic_ I got 3 out of my next 5, so 3 out of 20 = 15%, Not 30%, but definitely better than nothing. I was starting to think that my game was bugged, and she was never going to drop one for me.
@@SuperArc13 ya that’s a small sample size, I’m really glad you were able to get a few that’s huge! Hopefully the good rng keeps up. Keep it in the values that I got during that league were from people who got data over 100s of runs.
Massively agree that you dont need to run T17's to make good profit. At the moment i'm enjoying delving at around 800-900 depth on the splitting steel trickster and i would get 4 curiosities per hour not counting any other drops. Thats like 60+ div per hour with no investment and way easier than T17 map mods.

Burned like 150 maps, didn’t count how many times killed the boss, got zero veiled orbs. Something is not right with this 30% drop rate

Over 20 Cats and no veiled orb. Got 3 total in over 50 Cats....betrayal is one of the reasons I may never league start again
I think Catarina have near zero chance to drop orb in white and yellow maps. I run around 8 such maps and get zero orbs. So if you want orb, you need to run t15+ maps
@alexandrkositsky7698 dumb response from another dumb person, I read the patch notes tooXD, I only run t17s XD if you aren't running t17s you probably already quit the league/ aren't relevant

30% is what I have been told constantly by a variety of trusted sources. RNG is RNG though and 30% isnt a great number to begin with hence the price point
I think i have around 20% chance. But it only for t15+ maps. On low tier maps i have zero drop chance

Yeah I have had a few people tell me , some like full cards, some like just divination scarabs. All of the approaches seem valid! Thank you for pointing this out!

@Travic_ I got 3 out of my next 5, so 3 out of 20 = 15%, Not 30%, but definitely better than nothing. I was starting to think that my game was bugged, and she was never going to drop one for me.
@@SuperArc13 ya that’s a small sample size, I’m really glad you were able to get a few that’s huge! Hopefully the good rng keeps up. Keep it in the values that I got during that league were from people who got data over 100s of runs.
Massively agree that you dont need to run T17's to make good profit. At the moment i'm enjoying delving at around 800-900 depth on the splitting steel trickster and i would get 4 curiosities per hour not counting any other drops. Thats like 60+ div per hour with no investment and way easier than T17 map mods.
