The waterboys music was my drinking partner for 30 odd years, been sober for nearly 44 months and music wasnt sounding the same ..until i just heard this! Thank you mike scott youve just made me a happy man.
I’ve been sober for 10 years and music is what you make of it by seeking out and finding those endless opportunities. My parents use to have that same attitude about music when I was growing up. I made a vow to myself that I would not end up like that...let me suggest you keep listening to all types of music and hopefully you find great tunes by Artists that you didn’t know existed. Happens with me every few weeks...that’s what listening parties are all about and SOBER to boot
So proud of u gave up a demon that was not good for 6 years been clean 60 days & not missing the sh*t this music is the best high ever bless u bro keep moving forward like I am will never go back got this great dude’s music to keep me satisfied!!!!!’ Take care bro!!!! 71 years young is me!!!! ❤️👍😻☮️🔥🇺🇸🙏🎶😹
A new Waterboys album is always great news. Mike has the talent to lead two or three different bands with different styles but all fantastic. In fact, he does, and we are the (few) lucky ones that know that all these bands are just one, The Waterboys, one of the best ever.
Still the big music. What passion. What poetry. This is like pressing warp speed and skating away, with a huge explosion taking place behind you, your eyes upon the future.
What a wonderful leap of musical faith this song is... Been on high rotation for a couple of years, had no idea this was "new" Waterboys... Could be from any era... A true rocking folk tale. It takes a great musician to produce a song this accomplished... Hats off
Another masterpiece. Mike Scott might not appreciate being called a chameleon of versatility, but her covers all the bases with equal dexterity. This particular song falls into the driving, pulsing, pounding category that just keeps building...
My feet were tapping and my head shaking...consistently high quality material from the maestro of songwriting. In a world gone mad over 35 years,i found the weary land..well done waterboys
Every time youtube algorithm brings me back to this song I have to stop anything I might be doing and all my attention moves to this glorious song. Thanks, Mike!
My teenage years were spent listening to The Waterboys blasting from my older brothers bedroom 😊😊I absolutely love Mike Scott's voice,I used to fancy him like crazy back then. Still love him and the band.Love this new tune.Pan Within has a special place in my heart though 😊Am excited about this new album.
YES it definitely reminds me of "The Return of Jimi Hendrix", BUT this time with a wonderful Steve Wickham that makes this song even greater. I love that stuff without any doubt.
So looking forward a the time when the 'The Amazing Waterboys' take to stage (preferably in a field of dreams) & blow me away with this....with 'The Pan within' following on.
It's like he took the body from Dream Harder, the beyond-good lyrics of "An Appointment with Mr. Yeats", "The Stolen Child", and "Piper at the Gates of Dawn", mixed in a bit of "Modern Blues", took something indefinable from "Rock in a Weary Land", and got Steve Wickham back. A fucking masterpiece, that's what it is.
Just discovered this track. Absolutely stupendous. Best thing I've heard since I listened to W.A.S.P. Heavens Hung in Black. Modern classic. Keep them coming Mike....
Just come here after listening to the new album, this is stand out, majestic, swirling a masterpiece in dark times. My neighbours going to get annoyed today!
Thank you Mike and band. Absolutely love it. Listening thinking "Will there be some Steve lead violin?" - and then it came - delightfully duelling with lead guitar 'til the end. Superb.
Tears in my eyes and music which makes me want to leap about and dance and gets somewhere close to the rage and joy in my head that is so hard to express in these strange times... That doesn't really say what I mean well enough but hell, Scott, this is brilliant. Brilliant! All the positive comments you've had, I agree with! Thank you. And hey, when are you coming to Australia?!
Saw them play this last night at Wickham festival, no fiddle it did not matter with Mikes guitar and brother Paul the song flew ,Some experiences you bottle and slam in a cork so you can take a nip when you need it. Last night was one of those experiences
Fantastic, just what we need. Can't wait to see it live, desperate to get to a Waterboys Gig as I missed out last year and 2020 looks like a write-off.
Can hardly sit still. Want to see them live again in Milwaukee or Madison. The Waterboys should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, including Carl W. and Anthony T. The current Organist too. That original sax player. Some of the other guitar and mandolin players stand out. I wish I knew how to start that nomination process. These guys belong in the HOF.
It was 35 years ago that "The whole of the Moon" blew me from my feet, this song has the same effect, today... Mike is ALIVE and Kicking!
Alive & Kicking like Simple Minds, great bands! Scottish power!
Awesome! Eternal sound.
Hear u; feel u. The whole of the moon cast its lunar magic on me in 1985, and ive been in orbit since. This song is not far behind😂❣️
Rens Hemelsoet - yes!! 35 years ago! wowoowowownxx
well said, amazing song
Don't call it a comeback, he never went away. An epic song. Magnificent.

“This place is Love’s fortress. And so am I.”
The Whole of the Moon is a song I want to learn to play the guitar just so I can play it over and over. Mike Scott is such a gifted songwriter.
The White Birds, Red Army Blues, Goodbye 1970`s and now My Wonderings In a Weary Land. Love Mike Scott.
A new Waterboys album is always great news. Mike has the talent to lead two or three different bands with different styles but all fantastic. In fact, he does, and we are the (few) lucky ones that know that all these bands are just one, The Waterboys, one of the best ever.
WOW - Some light in all this darkness! and it's wonderful.
@@hanayo9 102% Agree ..I love this track.
has a dream harder era to it this one , cool tune
The story of mankind. What a brilliant song.
Mike Scott poet, song writer singer and musician. ❤️
Still the big music. What passion. What poetry. This is like pressing warp speed and skating away, with a huge explosion taking place behind you, your eyes upon the future.
I so love the Waterboys, ever since their first LP. Mike Scott is a fuckin poet and squeezes sweet tones out of his guitar.
What a wonderful leap of musical faith this song is... Been on high rotation for a couple of years, had no idea this was "new" Waterboys... Could be from any era... A true rocking folk tale. It takes a great musician to produce a song this accomplished... Hats off
Sometimes, Mike Scott brings me to tears of total joy and beauty.
FACTS he is a genius we love the Waterboys
Not just you , mate!
Another masterpiece. Mike Scott might not appreciate being called a chameleon of versatility, but her covers all the bases with equal dexterity. This particular song falls into the driving, pulsing, pounding category that just keeps building...

Song of the year so far, for me. LOVE it.
Every time youtube algorithm brings me back to this song I have to stop anything I might be doing and all my attention moves to this glorious song. Thanks, Mike!
Wonderful! "finally to emerge from the winter of my journey
into the grey light of a small damp dawn"
Stars, Lightning, breathless excitement, anger, joy, laughter, tears! Wondrous!
A bolt from the blue! Steve’s fiddle! Grand poetry! Whoooo!
If you're going to refer to great music for you're influence, then if you're Mike Scott, you can only self-refer. Awesome!

the return of The Big Music...........absolutely ace
ah! The Big Music- back to remind us we've been here before. Still burning Mike!
As someone who resides 20 minutes from ground zero in Mpls, I needed this. I mean...really needed this.
Listen to line 17 then. You should need nothing..
This is, a good example of what we call a "kioskvältare" (Kiosk tipper)
This is so my new funeral song loving it, play it every morning LOUD❤️🤬😇
Me too great one 4 a funeral! Mine 2!...🙏❤️👍🔥
I have just received the best news since three months ago, new Waterboys' album!!. It sounds great

Il does sound like the dream harder album indeed....

A fucking masterpiece, that's what it is.
My thoughts exactly.
The guitar also reminds me of the live version of The Pan Within off Karma to Burn. Glorious.

Me, too, me, too. Just as I was pondering “where is the fellow who fiddles?”
There he was!
Yes, all the way through I’m thinking “God, I hope this has the instrumental section it deserves”. And it does.

A great followup to the Long Golden Road from Modern Blues! YES!
