Hi new here, Found Highlander on the H&I channel, a couple weeks ago. then on Plex. Haven't seen the show since probably very early 2000's. You should do an interview with Peter Briggs about his involvement in the franchise and an in-depth look at what the series would have been.
I remember the vhs videos too in the UK, If I remember right the first one had Connor on the front then the others of course Duncan. It was mentioned that the series was hard to watch in the UK but it did have a prime time showing on Sky 1. My Sunday night viewing was Ds9 followed by Highlander.

In the UK we got 11 VHS tapes, all for season 1, editing two episodes together into one "movie." I've only ever seen "The Gathering" but here's the full list:

Family Tree / The Road Not Taken (EVS1121)
Innocent Man / Bad Day In Building A (EVS1122)
The Sea Witch / Deadly Medicine (EVS1123)

Band Of Brothers / For Evils Sake (EVS1125)
Nowhere To Run / The Hunters (EVS1126)
Avenging Angels / Eye Of The Beholder (EVS1127)
For Tomorrow We Die / Saving Grace (EVS1129)
The Beast Below / The Lady and the Tiger (EVS1130)
Each "movie" was named after the first of the two titles listed above.
These tapes were also released in the US and Japan. To date these are still the only home video releases we have ever had for the series in the UK!

I've often wondered how first time viewers would have felt seeing Darius die in "Nowhere To Run / The Hunters" only to turn up again on the later in "For Tomorrow We Die / Saving Grace" tape!
just to make you understand the popularity of the show in Ukraine in the second half on the 90s:
local company produced low-alcohol drink cold Highlander. Due to copyright reasons it was only implied by lightning, but still obvious where the inspiration came from.
Welcome Amy! I totally agree that Highlander isn’t as big as Star Wars etc but that’s the beauty of it. I have never cared for the ‘bigger’ franchises and Highlander is significant because it really brings people together. My girlfriend didn’t know anything about it until she met me. She’s now seen the first film several times and I’ve recently introduced her to The Series (just finished the Kalas episodes). Whenever I mention Highlander to someone it really depends on their age. The best response I normally get (without having to explain the concept) is ‘oh that film with Sean Connery in it?’.
Loved the TV show. I actually watched the show first then found out about the movies.
I know it was one of the first but i can't remember if Highlander WAS the first syndicated show to use long form story telling instead of the traditional villain of the week style at the time.
