- Episode 35 of a bike ride from Alaska to Argentina and around the world. This one starts at Esquel and follows along the Andes in Argentina and then into Chile and the Carretera Austral. Looking back this video is exactly what bicycle touring and bikepacking are like, more relaxed, more roads and it was great rest along the way. Hope you enjoy the tracks and I had some new music mixed in but all were long time favorites and most I got to listen to along the way. I miss Iohans videos. They were artistic, simple , and almost poetic. I hope, he found what he searched for. He had an impact here.
Iohan you have inspired me to go slow and take time for everything around me, even the animals which does not come natural to me. Kind of like a modern St. Francis.

Man, i said to you that yours videos are so amazing i never saw anything like this! The roads you gone are so beautiful i sure that i couldn't to do this. It's so crazy and the same time so awesome, i saw all of yours videos since as you talk with a truck driver with a snowy day. I was thinking about how many beautiful nights and starry nights u saw. I rode the length of South America two years ago and had the adventure of my life. But what you're doing here is just next level! I'm constantly impressed by the routes you are able to find, or rather the routes you dare to choose. I really had no idea there were any real alternatives to the Carrera austral or routa 40 in this area.
I always feel deeply inspired when seeing one of your episodes!

I totally agree w/ your observation. Iohan was bold enough to go anywhere, and not just follow the routes people had done before him. He was built differently than the rest of us.
It's wild when you go and do it after being inspired by someone like that, and truly feel how it will test you... not for the faint of heart, and even for the intrepid its no picnic in the high Andes especially.......
You are going to miss that space when traveling in western europe

Canines, felines, assorted herbivores, and beautiful scenery add Iohan's cinematography and it becomes magical.
Looks like you had lunch with a doberman pincer at the Chile/Argentina border. I think it's the first dobie you dined with on camera. I had a red dobe with similar great table manners near hands. I don't expect you see many short hair dogs considering the climates that you frequent.
I like how you stopped, got the camera, and walked back to pick up the crank. Then you did what it takes and got under way. Through it all not a peep about the welder(the last guy squeezing more out of it) or more specifically those other guys that were "out to lunch". Your expectations appear to be almost perfectly aligned with reality!
Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without. :-)
Yes it was surprising to see her there. The military said dog just showed up one day and they kept her. She has a place to sleep inside and a bed out in the sun.

Watch how super-careful the dog takes the slice of sausage from Iohan's hand, the last bit only using his tongue to pull on the slice. A small detail that Iohan shows here, but to me it says everything about the capabilities he developed to sharply see the detail and capture the moment. Brilliant!

Tus videos son magnificos , me gusta que muestras lo justo de todo , no los haces fantasticos como que vas a morir en la montaña o la nieve , es lo justo de cada sentimiento pero lo que mas se siente es la libertad en la naturaleza me encanta ese sentimiento que uno puede sentir en la patagonia o en la puna , sentirse parte de lo que te rodea y valorar las cosas simples como tener agua o sentirse confortable porque estas seco en tu bolsa de dormir.

@Iohan Gueorguiev awesome adventure man. Argentina, my homecountry, posses a unique terrain and incredible unpolluted landscape. One note: You use the word "pampas" to describe several regions in Patagonia, that is inaccurate. Pampas are FERTILE (grass) low lands shared between Argentina, Uruguay and Brasil and mostly used for agriculture and cattle. IF you are in Patagonia what you will have is "estepa patagonica" (arid, very difficult for anything to grow, high winds). Cheers and happy travels. "Pampas", actually the term is Region Pampeana: Provincia de Santa Fe, Entre Ríos, Provincia de La Pampa, Provincia de Córdoba, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (CABA), y Provincia de Buenos Aires es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regi%C3%B3n_pampeana
