I've tried this twice going from iphone 7 to pixel 6a and both times it hasn't asked for a qr code and all my history has gone - any idea why? I'm copying all my apps over not just whatsapp.
1. Update your iPhone to the latest iOS available on your phone. 2. Do a WhatsApp backup on the iPhone 3. Do an iCloud backup 4. Update your Pixel to the latest Android version available. 5. Factory reset your Pixel 6. Sign in to your Google account when asked. 7. That Google account needs to be the same gmail you used on WhatsApp iPhone. 8. @@SuAmigoAlex On #7, what do you mean to use the same gmail as on the Whatsapp iPhone? Since iPhone doesn't allow WhatsApp backups to Google Drive. Does your Google account email have to match your iCloud email in order for this to work properly?
Not sure if I missed any of the steps, other than the first backup on iPhone. The iPhone backs up on iCloud (with no option to put it on Google drive) whereas Pixel prompts restoring data from Google drive. Following all the processes told in the video, the QR code for WhatsApp just does not show up. And therefore, there is no option to transfer the backup from iOS to Pixel.
I've done it several time with Pixel 3, Pixel 6 and Pixel 7, I've just got the Pixel 6A and will do a video about it. Looks like you are skipping a step. Very important to update everything, very important to do that initial backup in WhatsApp iPhone then on iCloud and then you procede.
@@SuAmigoAlexyes, I think I will it give it one more try before discarding a perfectly good Pixel 7 pro 😊 Hopefully there is some easier way to have cross-platform chat backup option. The issue I have right now is that the Chat Backup Option is greyer out and an exclamation mark which states it should be on iCloud. I have found a solution to this, it so happened that even after selecting everything to be transfered from my iphone, nothing actually transfered. The weird part is that I got no error, but after I started my Pixel device no messages, no images, nothing actually transfered to my new phone. And my WhatsApp didn't bring the option to restore a backup, the only option was to restore from my Google account. After trying 3 times using 2 different cables I decided to try a 4th time with a different cables and it worked, it worked so well I was very impressed. Just to imagine I was going to give up and lose important conversations. Keep on trying different cables is my advice if the restore option isn't appearing.

The only possible visible options are either export chat which apparently you have to do one chat at a time, or archive chats. I wonder if whatsapp back up is an important thing here, because the IOS phone we are moving from is out of memory and it keeps saying that we need to liberate more space (there is really nothing more to liberate and i really cant understand why the local memory is neccessary for the backup). So the question is if we dont do the backup previously and just copy all the messages as you say - will it work out just as well or not...

Mi whatsapp tiene 6.53 GB he tratado gracias a tus videos de hacer el proceso una vez lo deje 36 horas y no terminó, ya solo me importa pasar el whatsapp la demás información es sencilla de pasar. On the importing stage it goes to 78% then fails and goes to profile name and then loads up without my chat history. Tried 10 times and get the same result. What should I do?
@@SuAmigoAlex trying to move whatsapp from iphone 7 to google pixel 7 pro. Everything is fine but when it gets to the last step (importing) it fails at 78% then says couldnt import and at that point if i open the app it doesnt have my chat history. Around 20gb shows on my iphone whatsapp before transfer and on my pixel storage it shows the same capacity. So the transfer is working the problem is with the importing. Also not a wifi or data problem as wifi and sim data is connected. Also not a storage issue as over 200 gb free on pixel and over 50gb free on iphone. Been trying so many times and factory reset and transfer all over again for more than a week. Dunno what the problem is nothing on youtube or google. Google support and whatsapp support also not helping.
Facing the exact same issue, shifting from iPhone 13 to pixel 7. Post transfer on the pixel it shows “some chats can’t be transferred” and then during importing on what’s app it gets stuck at 70 percent and only half the chats get transferred. Have tried it like 7-8 times
@@hussainataee5353 maybe you just have some corrupt file or data among your chats, maybe you should try deleting stuff leaving most important ones and then do a backup
This DOES NOT WORK if you have anything more than 50mb of storage like the guy who made the video. What's worse, this process is arduoius and took me 6 hours with 185GB of data to transfer and only 6GB data of WhatsApp. On top of that, the video make dismissed a crucial issue. Just before you do the restore, you MUST turn off the screen saver on the Pixel otherwise you will have to tap the screen every 25 seconds for 45 minutes until Whatsapp on the pixel crashed. I wasted 10 hours doing all this BSSS shame on you, shame on Whatsapp, shame on pixel, shame on iPhone. any alternatives!?!!?!

Make sure you have enough iCloud storage to do a full backup before doing the transfer

On the iPhone the WhatsApp back up is NOT saved in Google Drive, it's saved on iCloud. So my recommendation is to also do a fresh iCloud backup.

You can’t. You will need to convert business to regular to do the transfer or buy software to do it

Dunno what the problem is nothing on youtube or google. Google support and whatsapp support also not helping.
Facing the exact same issue, shifting from iPhone 13 to pixel 7. Post transfer on the pixel it shows “some chats can’t be transferred” and then during importing on what’s app it gets stuck at 70 percent and only half the chats get transferred. Have tried it like 7-8 times
@@hussainataee5353 maybe you just have some corrupt file or data among your chats, maybe you should try deleting stuff leaving most important ones and then do a backup

This DOES NOT WORK if you have anything more than 50mb of storage like the guy who made the video. What's worse, this process is arduoius and took me 6 hours with 185GB of data to transfer and only 6GB data of WhatsApp. On top of that, the video make dismissed a crucial issue. Just before you do the restore, you MUST turn off the screen saver on the Pixel otherwise you will have to tap the screen every 25 seconds for 45 minutes until Whatsapp on the pixel crashed. I wasted 10 hours doing all this BSSS shame on you, shame on Whatsapp, shame on pixel, shame on iPhone. any alternatives!?!!?!
