When I was a cab driver in Houston, TX, I got hijacked at gunpoint by two guys who, not satisfied with taking all my money, pistol whipped me and ordered me to drive. The one with the gun was in the back seat behind me gripping the back of my head by the hair with one hand, and held the gun to my head in his other hand. The unarmed one sat in the passenger side of the bench seat. I knew where they meant to go and what my chances were of coming home if we got there. Cooperating with them, as I had been, wasn't working. So, although we were going maybe 15-20 miles an hour I knew that's fast enough that slamming on the brakes pitched them forward while I went for the door. It was locked. _I forgot they had locked it!_ I thought I had just sealed my own doom as they realized what happened and started to react. So I floored the cab, aiming us straight for the picture window of a house. The car bashed up over the curb and sidewalk and onto the lawn. At the last instant, I turned sharply, hit a fence post, then smacked into a parked car before skidding to a stop in an intersection, surrounded by honking cars. Their headlights lit up the place and, in slow motion, I watched my hand unlock and open the door. I saw the bright orange and yellow flames billow beside my head and I smelled the burned gunpowder as I ducked down, rolled out and ran. Did they just shoot me? I immediately felt the back of my head -- it came back bloody but my skull was intact, the blood was from being hit with the pistol! Time sped back up and I've never been so grateful just to be alive. It seemed like I could feel my lungs exchanging oxygen and carbon dioxide as I breathed. I don't know what lessons might be learned from that experience. I've thought about it quite a bit in the decades since and I can see it easily could have ended very differently. But I did survive it so there might be some good information there. They made a mistake leaving me in control of the car, I think, but it was probably a bigger mistake to crack me in the head for no reason and kidnap me. At the time, Houston cab drivers were getting killed about once every 11 days and the sickening feeling I was about to be murdered was strong motivation to try to get out of there. My plan to hit the brakes hard worked exactly as intended -- but forgetting about the locked door was just about fatal. Crashing the car wasn't so much to get away as a decision that, if I was going to die that night, then I was going to die on my terms -- and take them with me. I honestly wasn't thinking I could escape that way but I'm glad it worked or that way. Thanks for that video, you guys! You're addressing a situation that, unfortunately, isn't at all far-fetched.
the FBI statistics say that the secondary crime scene is where criminals take the victims to kill them . its a fact its better to fight then to end up at the secondary crime scene . so this stuff is golden ! eve is so badass .

It's good to see someone is broaching the subject on this. Who is to say this will or won't work? Yes, in a real life or death situation this would be allot more chaotic, punches would probably be thrown and the first attempt may or may not work, but when your life counts on it these are good tools to have in your tool belt...even if you have better ones like a a weapon. In the end it's a good idea and good for practice.

I will definitely share these with as many people as possible. I am a firearms and concealed carry handgun instructor and help teach a monthly handgun class for women at my gun club. I believe in and encourage total defense training (I took Judo when I was younger so know very well how effective these hold are). Interesting this was done at Ramstein AFB. I lived in that area for 9 years. Largest American community outside the U.S.

I love the whole Gracie system, but this is so advanced that a person is calm enough to think about where there hand grips will be if a person has a knife or gun. 6 seconds going to sleep is six stabs or shots firing at your gut. Your best advice here is jumping out or crashing it as she said at the ending. But much respect

I would never expect (you may call me naive, if you might) that a master would hide techniques, in the form of secrets, form their pupils on purpose.
This is good stuff, but the only problem is that usually there would be at least 2 attackers, one to watch you and one that has a gun pointed at you , in that case what do we do?
About causing or risking a car to crash, if you are abducted, you are driven away at speed, and likely at speed making it dangerous to crash. I would suggest doing that in traffic or near traffic light at low speed. It also has the advantage of getting attention from cars nearby when cars are all around you.
I spent 3 1/2 years at Ramstein AB from '96 to '99... this was just a little after watching Royce show the world real fighting back around late '93 and I wanted to learn JJ so bad. The only thing on base was a TKD black belt teaching class one night a week. :(

Try pulling the seatbelt really fast it will lock up within 2 inches of you pulling it. This is to prevent the body from projecting forward from the Speed of the car or from a unexpected crash. I would suggest that You practice this a If you times to find the right speed without the seatbelt locking up guarantee if you go to fast it will automatically lock up within a couple inches of you pulling it

Since you should pepper in strikes while making your grappling attacks, study some jkd (great for any martial artist) especially for it's close ranged throat punches/strikes
Whatever dude, the only strategy against multiple attackers is to run away, you can't run a way while being kept in a car, so just do what you can, attack the driver so you might stop the vehicle, crash it or whatever, being held captive by multiple guys, most likely stronger than you and possibly armed is a done deal, you'll either get very lucky or you die.
What are the other secrets? I think Gracie should share their knowledge with the world. If they don't, then how will jiu-jitsu flourish. I think it is strange to keep it a secret. If Eddie Bravo kept the rubber guard a secret, how would it have evolved into the badass system it is today?

Every situation is different this is very situational and even if the situation is right it would have to be performed flawlessly

Also, the easiest way for the bad guy to counter this is simply by slamming the brakes. His seat belt will save him, while yours won't .

The locking of the seat belt depends on the accelaration of the pulling and not on the velocity.
They are related. If you try to do it fast the acceleration needed is greater.

What do you do if the bad guy already has his seat belt on? In all the examples, the aggressor was not buckled up.
