A friend of mine worked in production at NBC in the early 80s and was friends with people who worked on the production side at SNL and ended up working as a digital producer on the film and was a consultant on the film as well. Jason was so impressed with him that he put him in the cast! He’s even in the trailer. So for everyone wondering about the authenticity of the film - it’s pretty authentic!
Hey that's really cool. I just watched the movie it was amazing. I don't know if people realize how big SNL is it really helped me through a lot of hard times and it was basically my childhood. And I'm all the way from Egypt. Thank your friend for me ❤.
Looking forward to this. I had a catastrophic motorcycle accident in october 1975, six days before SNL premiered. I watched the first 9 saturdays worth while in traction. I would ask my nurse for a large chocolate shake and a injection of Demerol around 11:20 on Saturday night. After that first show I realized that something new and hilarious had fallen on all of us. And it even got better from there..
This cast looks so much like their real life counterparts, this film is definitely going to be nominated for SAG Ensemble on January 8, 2025. Hands down!!
Interesting... I kept getting fooled by which one they're playing. Cory Smith as Chevy is pretty spot-on. But I thought Gabriel Labelle was John Belushi based on what I saw here. Looking at the press stills of the movie, they certain got the look correct on the repertory cast. Rachel Sennott looks and sounds nothing like Rosie Shuster to me. More like Marilyn Miller from the same era. But in the press stills, wow, she transformed completely. (Note: in a different era, Sara Gilbert could have nailed Shuster but she's too old now. Then again, looking at Reitman on the couch, I saw 1990s era Neil Levy, so there are many what-ifs.) Anyway, very much looking forward to this film. I've seen the first 2-3 years of SNL more times than any other era, but what I love about that era is what a mess the show actually was. Some of the best sketches in series history came from that era, but so did many of the worst. The cast, crew, producers and network were effectively inventing and playing a game at the same time, resulting in a rollercoaster of a show from episode to episode.
This is gonna be a great movie! I’m excited to see how these guys play my favorite SNL cast members. Also, I hope they do a movie for every SNL era if this film succeeds, such as the Eddie Murphy era, the Adam/Phil/Farely era, the Tina/Amy/Jimmy era and the Bill/Seth/Kristen era
Ella Hunt made this movie for me. I'm sure Gilda was the spark for the group in real life but she was such a scene stealer the whole movie. Casting was of course perfect throughout but what a find.
I saw Sean from The Ringer came out of this movie thoroughly entertained but especially with the conclusion that Rachel Sennott is the next big star, and I couldn't agree more, she's so charming and charismatic
Dylan O'Brian - Elwood Blues, Beldar Clorhone Matt Wood - Jake Blues Kim Matula - Prymaat Clorhone Emily Fairn - Connie Clorehone Cory Michael Smith - Ty Webb (Caddyshack)
They’re asking how did Dylan prep, i mean an easy way for him to prep would’ve been him sitting down and watching some interviews with Dan Aykyrod. That way he could learn the guy and see how he acts.
Dylan O'Brien is Ackroyd. Bill Murray presumably would not be in a movie about season 1 of SNL. He was in season 2 as a replacement basically for Chevy Chase.
She doesn't look like her and they should have chosen a Jewish American to play her. At least when Jamie Gertz played her in the nineties she was closer to Gilda Radner in various ways.
Why are you asking these people (other than the director)? Besides Reitman, all the others did was say whatever they were told to say. And since they are actors who want to work again. They will say almost whatever they are told/expected to say to support the film. ☮
DRINKING GAME: TAKE A SHOT EVERY TIME RACHEL SENNOTT USES 'LIKE' IN A SENTENCE. TWO SHOT EVERYTIME SHE MAKES A STATEMENT THAT SOUNDS LIKE A QUESTION. 3 SHOTS IN A ROW EVERYTIME ELLA HUNT HAS A "DRAMATIC 'OH MY GOD' MOMENT."
SNL was very funny for it's time. i don't see it going over well for a generation like today's, where everyone's offended by everything. the 70's are NOT the 2020's. i don't think young people a: have the same humor, and b: don't give a shit what their grandparents watched. i predict this movie will tank.

i always forget gabriel labelle is only TWENTY TWOOOO!!! this kid’s gonna be a great
He and I are the same age… I’ve done so little
If the film is successful, the entire cast should be featured in a brand new SNL episode.
The ridddler from Gotham playin Chevy Chase! Hell yea, one of the actors i wish came out more main stream after the show ended. 😊
He's really underrated and was easily one of the best parts of the movie.
Reitman's comment in the last 30 seconds of this interview has me wanting to see this movie even more.
why does the director look like austin butler lmao
THANK YOU I THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY
THANK GOU
Man, I loved Cory as the Riddler. He made that character legit!

I just saw it. It IS great.
@@StevenBanks123 I saw it too, and I DEFINITELY AGREE WITH YOU!!! 😊
I can't wait to see this thing.

Jasón Reitman is in full blown Daddy mode and I’m loving it
cory's hair looks so gooddddd
Rachel Sennott ❤❤❤
🔥👌
I can't wait to see Dylan play Dan Ackrod #SNL50
Dylan o'brien your time IS COMING 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Hey it's Emmy award winning Lamorne Morris !!!
Lamorne is only in the trailer for a brief second. Show him more.
I saw Sean from The Ringer came out of this movie thoroughly entertained but especially with the conclusion that Rachel Sennott is the next big star, and I couldn't agree more, she's so charming and charismatic
Dylan O'Brian - Elwood Blues, Beldar Clorhone
Matt Wood - Jake Blues
Kim Matula - Prymaat Clorhone
Emily Fairn - Connie Clorehone
Cory Michael Smith - Ty Webb (Caddyshack)
I see there's a few cast interviews on TH-cam for the SNL cast none have the actors playing Belushi and Jane Curtain.
Mike looking like Steven Spielberg even more after the fabelmans lol
Love Jason Reitman
top 3 casts this year for sure!
Watched it last night loved it so much fun
Who else been crushing on Ella Hunt since "Anna and the Apocalypse"?
Are you here for 6:20? Yeah me too
I had auditioned for this film as Belushi, didn't get it, it was called "The Wolverines" back when I auditioned
I hope someone does a similar movie, but for Taxi, or Cheers.
Rachel Sennott is gonna look fine every time
rachel SENNOTT 💜
I agree
Lamorne should definely be playing Eddie Murphy in biopic
Rachel Sennott is mind-pulverizingly attractive.
You said it….
What about Belushi…why is the actor not here and why don’t they mention his character at all
These should come out after the film comes out. If the movie sucks then this will just be sad!
They’re asking how did Dylan prep, i mean an easy way for him to prep would’ve been him sitting down and watching some interviews with Dan Aykyrod. That way he could learn the guy and see how he acts.
Dylan ❤
Cory 😊
Ella Hunt :3.
wonder what type of skit snl will make about this
Is a trailer available!
Yes
Ella Hunt looks so gorgeous
when will you post the interview of Anora cast
Who's playing Dan Ackroyd and Bill Murray!
Dylan O'Brien is Ackroyd. Bill Murray presumably would not be in a movie about season 1 of SNL. He was in season 2 as a replacement basically for Chevy Chase.
i need rachel and dylan to date
Landshark!
I’m just a dolphin, ma’am.
Schmidt winston
gabriel labelle is 21?????
I am a bit confused here....excluding Jane Curtain and Laraine Newman?!?
They're both being represented in this movie. The actors are not in this interview.
Live love laugh this cast
Why wasnt George Coe in the movie? #JusticeForGeorge!
A lot of comments here from the marketing company.
I can't wait for the movie and also I would like to Saturday night as a tv series please make it happen
where is Kim
Is Jason wearing a wig?
I heard Chevy Chase was an asshole to work with.
no wonder i could never watch anything with him in it
Jason Reitman looks like aged up Austin Butler
Not going to lie. I was like I have never seen any of these people on SNL before 😂
Why isn't Emily Fairn there? She's the best.
Is that not Victoria Justice!!!?? Woah
who?
wild
Beauty
Let’s get someone British to play Gilda for authenticity
She looks nothing like her, imo.
She doesn't look like her and they should have chosen a Jewish American to play her. At least when Jamie Gertz played her in the nineties she was closer to Gilda Radner in various ways.
The three white guys who arent Dylan O'Brien look like the 3 stages of a Pokemons evolution
gabrielle?? did i miss a chapter 😭
lol it’s a typo
I thought the acting was kinda bad just my opinion.
Why are you asking these people (other than the director)?
Besides Reitman, all the others did was say whatever they were told to say.
And since they are actors who want to work again.
They will say almost whatever they are told/expected to say to support the film.
☮
Finally actors talking about themselves.
The best acting is when they pretend they’re not grinding their teeth waiting for their turn to talk
@palmerlp "me, me, me. Me, me, me." ...every actor ever.
Dylon O'Brien and a bunch of act0rs
he's brilliant
LOL DO NOT DISRESPECT LAMORNE you 12 year old
@@user-df4wr7qp2d i have no idea who that is
@@hkaayaakuu i am joking but look up new girl. if you havent seen lucky you.
So Morris refers to Garrett Morris as "Garrett" aren't they related?
Gilda played by a beautiful Brit? Yikes.
Well, people can hide their accents.
@@matthewlodel3115I can't see her be as nasaly or make the facial expressions that would be reminiscent of Radner.
