Ironically I Was still rocking just AD200’s when the pro II came out (saw no good reason to update to the pro), when one of mine failed to water damage so it was time to upgrade 😂
Impressive video, Wes Perry. Looking forward to your next upload! I smashed that thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the fantastic work. Considering the improvements in thermal management with the Pro 2, how do you think this will affect shooting in challenging environments compared to the original 8200?
Thanks for the comparison.... would love to see the same video on V1 vs V1 Pro vs V100... soon I hope as few of them are already out on... languages that I don't understand!
I bought a couple AD200 Pro II and this was my first Godox product. It's fine, but I have to say that the new bulb head isn't much of an upgrade. I would say that, for a lot of things, it's worse than the Pro I bulb head. As it's bigger than the Pro 1 head, it makes it impossible to use with the S2 bracket inside a lot of umbrella-style softboxes. In the end, I bought old the Pro I type bulb heads for all of my units and this is what I use most of the times.
Muchas gracias
The original flash stand brackets for the AD200 (the OG) were plastic around the spigot and prone to spliting. The GODOX AD-E2 Metal Bracket is much better, and I've bought them as replacements. The issue of the two knobs interfering with each other can be solved by unscrewing the bottom screw and reinstalling it on the other side.
Not any significant amount, no. It only runs briefly when necessary. And when firing at high enough output levels to trigger the fan, the amount of power being used by the tiny fan compared to the flash itself cycling is incredibly small.
I purchased a second AD200 Pro at B&H for $229.00. Not worth the additional $100.00+ for the Pro II. Also it came with the newer mount with the screw in umbrella holder. Thanks for the video.
That’s a special sale price, though. They still have the same MSRP oddly, though the original Pro is usually selling for $50 less, not $100 less. The Pro II will also see sales, as all Godox products tend to.
@WesPerry Yes it was a black Friday deal. However the pro has been on for sale $299.00 for quite a while. I find the only advantage to the Pro II is the modeling lights and the display. For me I don't use the modeling lights and I control everything with the trigger so I very seldom even use the menu. The only thing I use the menu for is if I need to change the group or channel.
I am still rockin my OG Ad200's love them. Thank you for your straight to the point presentation, no fluff just great info. Merry Christmas Wes!

Top man! @@WesPerry
The screw for light stand mount on the flash adapter has two holes. Move the screw to the other hole.

When will you get the new Godox V100?
ETA is “end of December or early January” still. Very vague 🤔
Hopefully sooooon! Can’t wait to break it! I mean, break it in!

I'll be making that video once I finally get my hands on the V100, and then finish testing it out :)

There is no difference in power output or guide number

That last part is a great idea! Will have to do that to all of mine 👌🏻
Doesnt the active fan on the Pro II mean it'll use more battery?

I hope you have Godox V100 in for testing already. That looks like a replacement to V1 Pro and AD100.
Not yet, but hopefully soon!
I only get Godox stuff about the same time as everyone else, unfortunately

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I already knew the difference, I just hadn’t seen a Wes video in a while…
I’ve published NINE videos in the last two weeks! What more do you want from me?? 😂
i keep my all AD200 ^^ (the prize)
