- Sometimes you want to make more espresso than you should drink. For this reason (and for certain guests you may entertain) everyone should own some whole bean decaf espresso. But decaf does not have to be tasteless. This whole bean decaf roast from Noble Coffee is (so far) some of the best decaf espresso I have found. But what do you think? What brands of decaf have you found to be worth stocking up on and making?

We have tried many Decaf bean blends, and our house and guest favorite is the Northern Italian blend, Lavazza DEK with inherent its subtle sweetness and caramel chocolate notes, finishing without any apparent bitterness. This decaf has been a consistent favorite coffee as espresso, Chemex, and French Press. Our go to Decaf, and one that our guests and family routinely ask for when given a choice.
Two others to try are the Martinez Don Giovanni's Bellisimo Decaf and for a more fruity decaf, from Portland's Heart Roasters, the Columbia Decaf Platino.
You should consider storing your opened coffee bean bag in some vacuum storage device. We use the large 1.2 liter Fellow Atmos 1.2 black Stainless Steel vacuum storage containers for our opened coffee bean bags, transferring the beans into the Atmos as space permits. We additionally use the large Black Coffevac containers, too. The Atmos containers are our favorites for storage.
If we have more beans than possible for Atmos storage, we roll up the bags leaving the bag gas port open to atmospheric pressure, squeeze the remaining air out of the bag, apply rubber band compression, and then store the bags in a dark cool kitchen closet. Our opened bags, but resealed bags, become our priority for completion.
Decaf is definitely a favorite for us and our guests in the evenings. Try DEK, especially if you want a good Italian evening decaf.

Some people are so lucky to be able to drink more than 1 cuo of Coffee a day. Decaffinated Coffee still contains a tiny percentage of Caffeine so I whom suffer from chronic Insomnia cant even think of drinking any kind of Coffee or Decaf after 2 PM
i just got an espresso machine and realized i was getting no crema because i was using a cheap decaf bean from starbucks lol, i have a minor allergy to caffeine so this video was perfect!! thank you so much!!
