- In this video I will tell you how you can remove scratches from eyeglasses and sunglasses lenses by using toothpaste. This is an old age trick to fix scratched glasses with coating.
Just imagine putting toothpaste on your glasses then realising you just ruined them
I’m an optician. The lenses are wet at the video’s end. Wetting obscures scratches. This is unproven unless we are comparing clean, dry lenses before and after.

nobody is gonna believe me because probably 100% of the comments say that it didn’t work but i just tried this because it was a last resort and it straight up worked for me. i still wouldn’t recommend it to anybody because nobody else has gotten these results but if you have no other choice it worked like a charm for me

Thank you so much! This absolutely worked on my scratched glasses. It didnt scratch them whatsoever. It just polished the fine scratches right away, leaving a lovely clear sheen. I wonder if it would work if you had an anti-reflective coating on your glasses? (mine didn't have this). It might remove the coating!? I used a microfibre cloth. I wouldn't use tissues.
Did not work at all! The scratches on my eyeglasses are mild, almost unnoticeable, and still did not fix it ☹

my ex tried wiping my glasses off after a dude in our glass took them and got a hand print smudge on them and it was bugging the hell outta him so ive been looking for ways to fix the scratches from his damn hoodie and yeah i think ill leave them...

baking soda or any fine grain makes it worse. using just non-abrassive toothpaste is a lot better than baking soda.

I did try this, I didn't use baking soda but I covered the glasses lense in toothpaste and cleaned it off using warm water and my glasses are perfect

One day it was ok and other day a part of it got black marks from nowhere ( in case u think someone would hv done it..there are no children in home, and its not a marker stain). And since then..the marks are present.

The best way is to use mosquito repellent spray. Spray the lenses with a paper towel, and wipe off the excess. It'll fill in the scratches and nicks in the lenses too.

Take an angle grinder and put the grinder stone. Then rub the glass three times. All the scratches are gone. That is more easier and effective than this method.

Great my glasses are 10 times worse now. Why does TH-cam let people post these lies? My glasses are a must I'm blind without them. Had a pesky scratch figured I'd try to remove it and totally 100% absolutely ruined my glasses. It put scratches all over my glasses. I have absolutely no means to get new glasses at this point.
