I have a Freezer full of Pork (my own) that I was forced to cull due to an outbreak of African Swine Fever and although my Gilts were out in their domain as Happy as Larry I was forced to cull them to protect a Pig Farm some 15 miles away so go figure. Anyway, I love Pork and I prefer natural Lard over any GMO Sunflower oils. I posses something known as a Multi-Cooker, but it is not a Slow Cooker which I believe you Americans call a Crock Pot? To get a melt in your mouth joint of meat like yours, I'd have to slow simmer in a broth. My mouth was watering when you tasted that piece of Pork. 😍 Please make a video on GUNPOWDER Spice and #Gunpowder it and let's see if we can get your views up into the hundreds and thousands as your effort deserves.
We have some friends who are farmers and we buy hogs from them, which truly does taste so different from store-bought. The lard rendered from this animal makes things taste that much more spectacular, in my opinion. Many Mulit-Cookers have a slow cooker setting, and that's what I set mine to to make this dish. I did not want to use too much broth, as the roast was still frozen solid and I did not want the moisture from that to dilute the flavor too much, which is why I only put 1 1/2 cups of water in, along with the juices. It was quite delicious! As for the gunpowder spice, I am working on making a video of that. I would be happy to send some to you, though I am not sure exactly how to do that, if there are restrictions and such. It is a recipe my grandfather made and perfected over 20 years, that he only used to season his deer sausage. Once I was able to get some from him, I haven't really used much else in the way of seasoning, it is quite delicious and an absolute multi-purpose seasoning, without being overly salty like many seasonings are. : )
@@kitchenbravo9237 Very kind of you to offer - let us wait out on that one as I don't know the ins and outs of spice imports into Europe and postage usually costs a lot too. You just keep knocking out your videos and let's hope that someday, somehow, YT picks up on your excellent content and promotes it.
