What a deal you can't buy a turd of a boat for $400 bucks! Most people are trying to sell their boats for what they paid for them after they beat the crap out of em & they don't even run for $3500.00🤓 I like the Vintage runabouts like you got there Nice find man!
Sweet score! I picked on up for free the other day. The motor wasn't attached nor does it have a windshield, seating or steering/power controls but a fun project I hope! Yours looks great and will be a lot of fun!
hey man i loved the video! i just bought almost the exact same boat. it had the same evinrude lark 3 motor. i paid $750 cad and its been a fun projecdt
you can't run these older motors on muffs like this- they don't get any water at all. TEMPO did make a jig that you could hook a garden hose to very easily that would strap to the motor and give it water supply, which is drawn from the little fin that sticks down from the far rear of the anti-cavitation plate. hope this helps. running them dry like you did in this video may not hurt the pump impeller once but it doesn't do it any favors. maybe ebay around for "tempo flush connector" (also designed for running on dry lnad), tempo made them for all different makes of 1950s and 60s motors. the alternative would be to run it in a trash can of water
@@williamhaskellhaskell3162 Temop and one or two other aftermarket companies made adapters that you could fasten to the mtor with wing nuts and it would properly feed it water so you could run it on dry land
what size boat is this? i have an fibreglass 13ft runabout with a 1973 johnson 20hp on it. im wanting to put a bigger outboard on it, do you think it could handle a 40hp?
Just picked up 14 ' Alumacraft {circa late 60's} with a 25hp 4 stroke outboard, this boat in clip is very similar, Anyone out there where might accessories that would be for this boat, like handle, front and rear lights?.

You should be able to handle a 40 hp on your boat. I have a old 13 ft runabout that originally came with a 40 hp. The plate on it says max hp: 45 hp.
